Several Tridentine Masses from the Agneskerk, Amsterdam the Netherlands FSSP, in full communion with the Holy See and the local bishop, who gave this church to the FSSP.

Father! I find myself in a precarious position because I agree with Karpov89's comment but my heart goes out to szqsk8 and I understand him fully. Why can there not be a provision for both of them when it comes to the sacred Liturgy. The old Rite was a special blessing to millions of Christians committed to our Lord Jesus. For many the New Rite is not an improvement and certainly fewer attend it. Of course the most important thing is a proper relationship with our Lord and I know you love Him.

I feel I must add I do not hope the mass is like this every Sunday, but on occassion I think it is just fine. It can not per se be non Catholic with modern music. About the Novus Ordo I think it is a little sad that the mass almost always is celebrated versus populum and that the communion often not is received kneeling and directly in the mouth although it is allowed.

Another guitar mass? I can't stand it any more!!! This is one of the biggest reasons I don't attend Mass any more. I have tried many a church but I want what I grew up with - incense, holy water, a choir and organ, etc. Not this jamboree stuff!

The majority of Catholics haven't heard real Roman Catholic music in so long they don't know what what they are fighting for because they don't know what's been missing.

The parish needs to use it's resources to invest in new members so the parish can grow long term and retain the members it has. POOR music like this damages the parish in every way and will only wilt in the future. INVEST today to grow tomorrow. INVEST in a pipe organ. Oh and some Latin free of charge to go along with it would be a bonus!

Its really quite interesting how very well meaning and good people become so attached to guitars and folksy music at Holy Mass, and will fight vehemently for it. Why for is this?

This is NOT a Lutheran service - this is a Catholic Mass. 

Lutheran services are truthful, while this is nothing but a work - righteousness Mass...............this i Catholic through and through.

Sorry, but there is work - righteousness error in here - and this priest is another example of following the pope, who is a man.

The parish is going to use what resources they have. The Mass is about God, not instrument preference.

I'm not saying the guitars are bad or wrong, but Mass shouldn't be a concert. I actually go to the Mass whenever they use the guitars.

I can see both sides of the guitar thing. I personally just don't think the structure of the mass is really meant for that style of music, so it comes off sounding like we are trying, desperately and unsuccessfully, to be evangelicals...but thats a matter of aesthetic taste.

I feel like its a matter for the priests and bishops to decide about their own parishes and dioceses. Anyone that says they won't go to mass because they don't like the music is thinking of mass the wrong way.

Too bad you are not in attendance at these services. The people sing at the top of their voices! The sound bites only reflect the contemporary choir. The members of this choir have been serving our Lord for over four decades. All we ask is that people who want to judge, read the Bible.

I disagree. Although I do not go to the liturgy for the music, I very much prefer guitars, as it makes Jesus feel much closer to me.
