Good video, it was not lame or boring. I have a suburban 90 5.7 that is running like crap when you start it. It idles up and down and then shuts off, But then it smooths out, but if your driving and step on it hard it sputers. I think it's a bad injector or dirty tbi.

I replaced wires cap fuel filter, plugs. Someone put an aftermarket round air cleaner on it. Tks for posting vid. It was helpful.

Tbi, Throttle body injection is cheaper on gas than a carb setup. Go buy a throttle body rebuild kit, it comes with all the gaskets, seals and O rings. and a can of cleaner, i use carb cleaner cause i never reuse seals. about 30 bucks and an hour or 2 of work and you got urself a nice clean throttle body, also replace the fuel filter, another 10 to 12 bucks but worth it, actually saves on your fuel pump life. I've been a mechanic for 20 years

You know they sell TBI rebuild kits at autozone, and you could rebuild your tbi unit and probly get some better results. But you might also look at getting some brand new injectors. You can get them for like fifty bucks a piece online.

All those pushrod V-8's with stud mounted rocker arms likely had poor valve geometry. I'd like to see a compression or leakdown done on it, or vacuum analysis.

Cleaning the carb, TBI, etc won't have notable effect until the vacuum and compressional balance exists. Of course I may be wrong. Gosh, the newer OHC's from Ford and GM are quite clean burning. Oh, yes, hello.

next time you clean it...take it off the car...pull the IAC, TPS, and fuel pressure regulator off...clean the FPR, and rebuild it with a new kit...and if you can swing it throw some new injectors on there...she'll run like a champ after that...If the IAC and TPS are good.

You do know that's not a carburetor, right? It's a throttle body injector, hence the name T.B.I. It's computerized while the carb is not.
