I'm nearly 18 and I'd really like to learn ballet, acro and contemporary dance. I was just wondering if it were possible to get my splits at the age I am? I do a lot of stretches so I'm more flexible than I used to be and can get my head to touch my knees.
I was also wondering if I could one day do more advanced moves with practice as I would love to do be able to do nice leg extensions and pirouettes and fouettes.
Im 13 And Im Trying TO Start. My Family Isn thte Wealtiest Family Aroungd And I Can't Afford Actual Lessons. Trying To learn So I Can Get Into A Performing Arts Schoool I REally Need Some Suggestions, Yes This Is An Old Dance But Please Help Me With This. :/
I'm 58 and just started again!..I haven't been in ballet shoes in over 40yrs..but I'm amazed at how much has come back to me and how much I'm able to do. I love it!..I also started piano lessons 2 yrs ago..always wanted to play but never the time. go for your dreams, I say ;-)
@gonethedove Wow, I turned 19 a few months ago, and for the longest time I've wanted to dance ballet. Your comment really inspires me to make my dream come true by joining a ballet class at the university I'm going to. I can't afford the class this semester, but I think I can next fall semester.
@kinzie8989 how am I wrong when your saying the same thing??? Dumb little girl... And why do little kids on YouTube care so much about age? We didn't need to know your 11 lol
That's a pretty awesome routine. Totally inspired me to do ballet now! Will it take me long to learn enough ballet for this routine? I'll already know latin ballroom dance.
This routine is so cool...would you mind making a video on how to do this routine? I would really like to learn it! I'm taking a beginner ballet class right now...and crazy as it may seem, I experimented with this video and sarah Mclachlans Forgiveness song...it matches up with it, which is the song I want to perform it to. So if you wouldn't mind, I would be interested in learning it! Thanks!
ok this THE worst ballet song...and your bad:/ sorry i know your a begginnerr and wat not but you should look that video before you put it on....k just for future reference
@sonicrider759 just because we are used to see ballet routines based on classic music , it doesnt mean that we cant dance to ROCK MUSIC. maybe the choreography shouldve been more lyrical but the song choice is not wrong.
To all of the people saying this is a bad song choice: I am sorry but this is a very good song choice. It might be an edgy song and all but the sharpness and grace in the moves you can make to make the timing are amazing perfect. I think she did a wonderful job.
I disagree with those suggesting the choreography of your piece be more "lyrical"; the simplicity enhances the poise and intensity of the dancer. She has a lot of presence and an innate rhythm--I can see she's "in" the song. I would alternate a little bit on the grace vs power thing in the dancing itself (which she shows both) to enhance the performance. Bravo.
I absolutely LOVE this song and choreographed a dance to it not long ago. You're really good for a beginner and are very graceful. And to a comment below saying about your hair making it messy.. i dont think it matters lol Well Done!
I really think this girl is a great dancer. I would expect a more expressive dance for this song. I did Lyrical/Modern for ohhh I guess about 9 years before my injury and this idea could have been done better. Good song, good dancer, bad mix of the two. She should dance to something slower and prettier. Meanwhile im gonna try and make up a dance to this...thanks for the inspiration.
good job : ) I took ballet for 2 years but stop but watching reminds me of how much I miss it and how great it left me in shape.

its such bullshit that you're too old to do ballet if you aren't a little kid... whatever a kid can do an adult can do and probably learn it faster!

@elaveen u are wrong.we are all capable of what we want if our minds are set.and thats coming from an 11 year old girl*

hey... i'm 33 and started ballet last october.... it's an art after all. you don't have to do it just to be a "prima" one day.
you don' t learn how to play a trumpet just because you want to be in an orchestra
