Nice robot! Very well made, but to prevent accidental scratches on the floor (Which I VERY highly doubt might happen), why not make one that lifts it's legs to walk. And dances. It needs to dance.

what programming mix are you using on the dx7? i realize its called a swashbot which leads me to believe you're using helicopter mixing w/ a 3 servo 120* ccpm mixing. what im wondering if you couldnt use airplane mixing, make a larger version w/ 6 legs and actually make it work. you're allowed to have alot more servos in the airplane mixing which allows you to do ALOT more w/ your crab.. just an idea

I'm not sure if it's because of the interest this video has generated or what, but those shapelock (dot) com guys are pretty slow. After 11 days, they've finally gotten my shipment into the hands of the USPS, including 8 says of "Electronic Shipping Info Received."

yeah you got a point with the flexibility which can easily wear out the color.. well you should try only on the thick ones... and maybe you can add color while your boiling the plastic... it could work. Oh and I commented once about putting wheels beneath the crab; Well the legs could easily do a better job turning around and crouching, but the wheels should come out when you crouch so the crab can move back a forth perfectly you know what I mean?

I agree, it's awesome, but I think he'd have to make it more user-friendly; i.e. not so much manual directions as pre programmed movements.

instead of working different sequences of sticks to make it move, if he made it automatically move the required limbs to go forward when the joystick was forward, it'd be a better buy for the kids :)

Dude awesome work, I really like your use of the 4 bar linkage on the legs. One thing I would add, Put in some color change led's (LED's that change color depending the voltage going through them) on the body. make it so they change color depending on what direction you press the control stick.
