this was on intellivision too. don't know if he mentioned it in the review but after you hit game over it froze the screen so you could take a picture of your score and send it in to activision. they would then send you a badge or something if you got a high enough score. i'm pretty sure i still have the game in the original box w/ manual

My 2 favorite atari games are stampede and Kaboom. The new kaboom pots on the pc and wii homebrew suxor with control with the mouse and wiimote respectively., but the atari paddle is perfect.

That looks like a great Atari game. Gotta find that one, especially if it's made by Activision. They made Pitfall II: Lost Caverns (which is my favorite Atari 2600 game) so I'm on board for Stampede.

This is one of those games that required good reflexes and good strategy. Sometimes you needed to steer the cows instead of roping them. This was one of those really cool games on the Atari 2600. It looks easy...until you actually play it!

When I was trying to remember the graphics of this game before the internet let me actually watch videos of it, they became increasingly more complex and detailed, even if they were still monocolor sprites. Then I saw the real thing and... well, I was sort of happy.

Maybe the memory was based on those back-of-the-box pictures they put in catalogs, which were usually hand drawn.

Ya, in the kid's meal at taco bell you can get a CD of Breakout, Asteroids, Lunar Lander, or Centipede. You can buy them for $1.50 each or you can buy the kid's meal. At my taco bell they only had the old toys even though the display showed the Atari games.
