They drive tanks, fly airplanes, helicopters, shoot artillery, and have their own special forces. The US marine corp is designed to crack a nations defenses with pure combat projection power. The Royal marines are not even remotely the same thing, so stop comparing them. Recon Marines train for well over a year as well. Training never ends.

Ha What??? Do you know how long it takes to train to be ANY kind of U.S. Special Forces? I MYSELF am an Army Special Forces (the Green Beret) Recruit. According to the papers that I signed when I swore in, Army SF training is between 50 - 76 weeks.
@alZiiHardstylez That 50 - 76 weeks of Special Forces training doesn't EVEN include the 14 weeks of Infantry training required of me, or the 2 weeks or so of Airborne school. That's 66 - 92 WEEKS (almost 2 years, in case you can't count) of training just to get to U.S. Special Forces status. And that's not just U.S. Army. It takes about the same amount of time to become ANY U.S. SF, i.e. Marine Force Recon, Marine Scout Sniper, Nave S.E.A.L.s, Air Force Pararescue, etc...
And I know what I'm saying. I swore in 2 weeks ago as a Special Forces Recruit in the U. S. Army. I have documents that I had to sign which contain the information on how long training is for Army Special Forces (the Green Beret).

Military (Rangers, Green Beret, Delta are Army, Force Recon and Scout Sniper are USMC, Seals are Navy, CCT and PJ are Air Force). I'm sure they all have very different roles. For example, Army Green Beret MAIN role is kind of a teaching role. They train indigenous people in combat and weapons, as well as fight. In contrast, I believe USMC SF is more combat oriented, Delta Force - counter terror

British SAS are reknowned as being the best special ops unit throughout the World with closer personnel to the of the US.
Even infantry personnel have the same training concepts of that of the English.

@njdevil281 Honestly, requirements needed to join the USMC arent even comparable with what is required by the Royal Marines...if you're just looking at quantities, than the chinese army would crush the whole USMC easily. It doesnt mean that the average chinese soldier is better trained than a marine.

@Jelcroo not to mention his hands are bloodier then hell. we had a kid last year at leadership school in my JROTC unit, kid decided to come down holding the rope, and fast, came down, wasn't more then a few fragments of skin left on his hand.
so imagine this guys pain, with the broken leg(s).

children quit arguing about who's the best they all have they're purposes, see green berets and rangers are like they get stationed some where and have special missions n stuff like they go on combat missions, except Green berets are better then rangers, Navy SEALs have the most intense training in the United States... i would bet on a SEAL not A forcon marine... they're good but SEALs are better, and of course any marine will tell you forcon is better but DELTA AND SEALs are the best

@farcry2outlaw where do u draw ur facts from that a seal could own a forcon whatever a forcon is..i have many friends who are seals and i train at cornado with them for recon training. seal training is in fact not that much different. there are three corpsman who are with me who went through most of buds. they arent black belt ninjas. second, they did do a documentary about green beret training on the history channel and berets and ranger training aint shit..its like patrol phase of brc

@slray518 Do the research yourself man and you'll see most of the propaganda they put out is false. The usmc isn't and hasn't been "first to fight" in war. Their nickname "devil dogs" didn't come from the Germans. The Army has more amphibious assaults than they do. The wash out rate for both the Navy and Army is higher in basic than Boot. These are just a few lies they use to pump themselves up. Don't believe me either, look it up for yourself. It's easy enough to find the truth on the net.

@farcry2outlaw Yes most marines are dicks and do have an over inflated view of themselves and the USMC. That kind of shit you described is the norm and from what I've seen it's encouraged. They seem to think that in order to have confidence in themselves and their branch they have to shit on others. They believe their own hype and try to live up to the myth. Funny thing is if you do the research a lot of it isn't true.

@bjjfighter92 - look i know both are REALLY well trained but nobody can say that if they didn't go through both, but my opinion is that force recon does more training with water ops than rangers, while rangers do more non-conventional warfare training in the 3rd of their 3 phases than the force recon does in their second phase
