  • Nice, someone who actually knows who was at the battle.

  • the AI IS HORRIBLE

  • where i can get the spartan skins??

  • the Spartans would never let anyone but themselves be on the front line!

  • did anyone see the spartan fly up then die at 2:50 ?

  • sparta never used archers in thermopylae but nice vid

  • @MrFRANLARRA Sparta didnt but other greeks brought them in as support

  • @MrFRANLARRA They did

  • 2:51 . a hoplite defies gravity LOL!

  • Schotish Leonidas XD

  • is this campaign?

  • dude i got the greco persian wars mod but my computer is too slow wat can i do???? lol

  • @Rockshadow666 buy new computer

  • @NukeCss great advice

  • @NukeCss EPIC LOL

  • i like how pikemen and hoplites look like

  • none of these thermopalae videos pay any attention to the fact that the majority of the Persian army was archers, not pathetic infantry.

  • U got it wrong, they were 300 and they were NAKED! :)

  • What kind of Hoplites are you using?

  • WTF IS THIS SHIT?

  • nice

  • I think the CRUSADES were more apreciatable than the percian-greek war where just thousands Muslims stood victorious against millions of christians. That was the biggest miracle in history

  • @KingMas88 No.... It simply is Alexander the Great. It took almost 2 centuries for the muslims to drive out the christians and Alexander the Great made the 2nd biggest empire in history in less than a decade. The biggest empire ever was the Roman empire.

  • @666666MetalHead yes but alexanders empire didnt last even a decade.

  • @666666MetalHead The biggest empire ever was the British Empire, read it up!

  • @leeboi222 The boggest ANCIENT empire ever, not of all times.

  • @666666MetalHead

the mongol empire was way bigger than rome

  • @silverboard04 So what? The Romans had the biggest empire OF THE ANCIENT TIMES(-3500-476). That's what I said.

  • @666666MetalHead im sorry -3500??? Roman Empire was the post-Republican phase of the ancient Roman civilization, characterised by an autocratic form of government and large territorial holdings in Europe and around the Mediterranean in 44bc. so more like -44 to 476.

  • @immortal4942 -3500 is the beginning of the Ancient Times. That's what I ment to say.

  • @666666MetalHead Dude Rome wasn't even united in 3500 BC. Shit the Hittites or Egyptians where around then but sure as hell not Rome.

  • @666666MetalHead I thought the Mongols had the biggest empire in history???

  • @aerik9 It's the Biritsh empire who had the largest empire in history, after it's the Mongols, then the Ottomans then the Romans. The largest of the Ancient Times, which were at -3500 to 476, was the Roman Empire(-44 to 476). At the Middle Ages it was the Mongols, At the Renaissance it was the Ottomans and today it's the British.

  • @666666MetalHead The Roman Empire I think was second to Mongols (by military force), and then the Ottoman, and then Spain, and then Persian, then Greek, then Third Reich, then Babylonian (I believe.) Nowadays there are no Empires, and in my opinion having colonies everywhere is not an empire, that is being a colonial power.

  • @666666MetalHead the largest empire in history was the british empire, the second lagest empire (and largest single land mass empire) was the mongolian empire founded by genghis khan and expanded by his son Ogedei. you are well off

  • @KingMas88 what? there weren't millions of christians. That's one of the most ridiculous exaggerations I've ever heard. There were roughly even numbers in most of the battes in the crusades and the Muslims probably had most after the unification under saladin.

  • i know its a game but there were 7000 greeks (including 300 spartans) vs 180,000 persions so the numbers were way off and the bridge is funny xD but still its only a ga,e but over all cool battle

  • BORING!

  • Where do you get this mod i like it ? 5/5.

  • oie de donde descargaste este juego c ve de lujo

  • you have fucked up this game

  • lol termopylae is a bridge?;)) pretty

  • @CiuRRaRU its actually like an entrance or something to greece

  • Is this your mod? The vid was nice anyway.

  • Is this a mod????

  • Shut up retard, learn to read.

  • ey, When I commented, immortal4942 did'nt say that "It's a mod" fuckhead

  • that was kinda unnecesary

  • lol i remember this. i would have 320(closest to 300) spartan hoplites and archers and give the enemy 3500+ troops. i did greeks vs persia/egypt/and some other team. and i would win by a huge lead until i realized that the seleucid army....CAN CROSS THE WATER..learned the hard way but still won =D by alot.

  • thts cool, but nice work with the mod. 5/5 for the mod and actually havin the greeks in the vid unlike most dramatizations

  • lol yay, finally someone who accounted for the 1000 greeks tht also had a big role in the fighting and tht they were the first ones to fight and spartans were reserves.

  • wat did u use to film cause i wanna make a vid but dnt know how to film it??

  • nice vid

  • thanks

  • i got this game but it says the greco persian wars mod was "canceled"

  • alot of lag on this vid

  • whaT GAME DID U use 4 this??

  • You dumbshit -.- Read the fucking description

  • llllllllllllooooooooooooooooollllllllllllllllllllllll

  • is this a mod of the solders?

  • They didn't have an advantage, they evened the fight. Their advantage was in the phalanx, bronze shielding, and the persians pathetic shielding.

  • Their spears were longer also.

  • Well I figure because you were unable to contain your joy at realising there were cultural differences means that I can ignore the rest of your post and assume you're an idiot.

  • well you fail

    research your shit

  • fail? research?

I said that one of their advantages was a longer spear....

Also they used a higher shield....

Did I get that wrong or are you still obsessed about the sex with boys thing?

  • bumfun was common in spartans

    its a fact

stop rating my shit down? thanks

  • Comment removed

  • lol wasn't me rating you :-P

also I never disagreed with your so eloquently put statement, yet someone shallow and inaccurate statement, just thought you were a dickhead :-P

So you've outlined your baggage yet again, what was your point other then that exactly?

  • boobies

  • Feeling like you need to re-assert your heterosexuality after revealing so much of your fascination with boys?

  • big titty funfun with wet miff = funfunfun

    every hole's a goal

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP

  • target

  • i used to play this game all day ...until medieval 2 came out :))) now empire total war came out but i still play medieval 2 ...

  • how do you play this??

  • good job remembering that there were more than one Faction defending greece

  • Comment removed

  • not really cheating. more....umm....good tactics.

  • what a godawful analysis of the battle. the spartans wouldn't have lasted half a day without the Athenian navy anchoring their flank. and, as one person has already pointed out, attacking from behind is not cheating...in fact, you can't really cheat in a battle.

  • HD would be better.

  • Yeah, i agree with that, but i was just saying for the sake of playing the game, the non overhand looks cooler in my opinion.

  • great job on this mod, i kinda wish you didn't put the overhand animation though. :( pretty much every mod does it though. you have to input reskins to get non overhand. but anyways, good job, i always find myself redownloading this one hehe

  • The Spartans did what they had to do. I say it was a good thing.

  • well, one of them told me to read a book, but in fact he's the one that needs to read the book, stupid bastard. but, if you're interested, a good one to start on is Thermopylae: The Battle for the West. Have a good day.

  • reenactor - yours is a mouth of filth sonny. You are a rude so and so who should learn better how to communicate with others. Everyone played their part in saving Greece in 480BC. navy, army, Spartan, Athenian, Thermistocles, Leonidas, the water carriers at Thermopylae, the wives in Corinth, and i could go on. No need to be rude about it.

  • did you read the other threads? b/c i don't remember you being involved in the conversation. you are a nosy motherfucker (my bad, "so and so") who has no business in a conversation between me and other ppl. thank you for your comment. sry if i appear rude, hopefully you sent etiquette lessons and reprimands to the others. if not, then not only are you nosy, but you're a nosy hypocrite.

  • Shutup and behave yourself. Sick of your sort ruining YouTube.

  • as opposed to ppl who want to force their own ideas of appropriate behavior on others? i'm sorry that you lost this argument, but you have no right and no moral authority to tell me what i must do. if you don't like me, don't engage me, it's as simple as that. so, please, leave other ppl alone to live their lives as they wish, put your wooden sword and cape away and stop playing YouTube defender. Thank you for reading.

  • Sit.

  • Stand.

  • hehe petty youtube fights are funny XD

  • hate to break it to you, but the spartans have been dead for some time, so i don't know how i'm going to "do battle" with them anytime soon. loser.

  • @reenactor19th You can meet direct descendants of the Spartans if you go to Mani,Greece... :) Crazy guys they still practice blood feuds.

  • jrv2005 nexusrev

use r both as bad as eachother i thikn its time u both get laid?

  • Hey man, we apologized. Made up. We're cool now, why don't you shut the hell up because you're wasting your time watching video game movies as well. So in that light, you're no better than us. Stop trying to create a false sense of superiority over me and him because we had an EDUCATED debate over a historical subject. And, I could get laid as fast as you typed this comment. Hopefully you may learn to do the same without giving out your credit card number.

  • are u sure about that?

i bet ur a 30 year old virgin that still watches video games because ur probably a fat ugly nutcase without a job

  • Hah. I wouldn't put any money on that bet you little prick. Let me poke holes in your arguement. I'm 22 for one, I do have a job. And if I didn't have a job, then how the fuck would I be able to afford cable internet, a computer, keyboard, monitor, and a mouse? Video games are fun, lots of people play them. It's not exclusively for prepubescent 13 year olds like yourself. And luckily for you, being attractive is completely irrelevant to getting laid. Be quiet, kid.

  • haha yer video games are cool at any age but it seems thats all u do. how many girls have u got laid with bruzz? how many have u ever dated? u r a disgrace get the hell off youtube

and for all i no u could still live with your fucking mother.

  • oh and another thing dont fucking view my channell and use my age little fag. oh and the way u talk sounds a little gay u talk like some smart geek nurd

man u need a good time with a girl

  • this level is not themopolea?

  • Lol, because the battle of thermopolye took place in the middle of a forest on a bridge. Kid, anyone can film themselves putting a few spartans in front of a bridge and watching people run into them. This is nothing like the actual battle. Not a single historical reference of anything. Where is the raining arrows? And the spartans didn't run at the end! This is pathetic. This is just some normal everyday battle you see in RTW that you filmed and slapped "Thermopolye" on so you could get views.

  • hm, i cant get that units, i download greek extended mod, but it has a problem, sometimes it going out, and i see the desktop, so i delete the mod....

  • its a game, he prolly coudn't find one.

  • wtf were those arcani? LOL

  • hey m8 , there is velites there . there was no spearthrowers at the spartan side .. :)

  • 1) they're peltasts

    2) The greeks employed skirmishers to support the hoplites. The Spartan skirmishers would have been helot slaves

  • oh yeah, have you try to download the themopylae map in gamespot? others say it sucks but i never dowload it. good luck with that new video

  • dude you should use the spartan hoplite militia (the soldiers that are in the movie 300)if you have greco persian war mod

  • ya im gonna make a video using those in a real thermopylae map

  • are they in your mod? you should add them to it

  • gooood

  • Thermopylae was a mountain pass, not a bridge,

and those are athenian hoplites, not spartans...

  • Dude it's Rome Total War, be happy with what you get, you don't have all those features.

    ^_^

  • but there is a Thermopylae map, looks like in the 300 movie but the map sucks. if you want to download it, you can download it from gamespot

  • its really easy to download. just go on moddb download from filefront and extract to rome total war 1.5. THATS FREAKING ALL! enjoy

  • what game is this ?

  • well ok on one side we have the Spartans who had a Hoplon a large bronze shield which covered the torso, and on the other side we have the Persians who had shields maid from wicker hmmmmmmm i wounder who would win a streight up fight

  • Take out the archers, Xerxes believed that arrows were not necessary to win a battle, and many Generals back then thought it was sort of a cowardice think to do unless it was a sort of last ditch attempt.

  • @NexusRev I think that you might be wrong. Persians didn't consider a bow to be the weapon of a coward. After all ,the Immortals, their elite troops were armed with bows. Spartans considered using bows as cowardice, not the Persians.

  • Guys, if you can think just a little bit clever, you'are able to understand , that this war, this fight, is just a legend, it'snot proved that this battle has ever been started.

It's impossible , to hold with 300 man such a valley. It's clearly to much enemies for 300 man . Don't believe Hollywood!

  • The Greeks were numbered 7000, not 300. 300 Spartans are only among the 7000 Greeks who fought in Thermopylae.

  • Yes, there was ~7000 other Greeks that attempted to hold off the Persian invasion, however the other Greeks left to join the rest of the bulk of the army that Athens was supposedly going to send, or to return to their respected city states. and eventually led up to the Battle of Marathon that held off Xerxes and sent him packing back to Persia.

  • Marathon was 40 years before thermopolye. What the fuck are you talking about? I actually read that in a fucking book. I'm sick of all of this little fucking kids that think they are so smart because they looked on wikipedia after they saw the movie 300. You kids no nothing. Stop trying to act smart. Every time you see a pathetic attempt at a thermopolye battle on youtube half the comments are little fucking kids trying to act smart talking about a battle everyone knows about. Fuck off guys.

  • Word. Those little kids always fuck around spreading disinformation. The Battle of Thermopylae is a classical military battle that demonstrates the values of many force multipliers - i.e. Homeground advantage, bottlenecking, fortification, advanced training and equipment. Much of the Persian army was dedicated to light infantry. And for you little kids who don't know better: Spartan did NOT go into battle in leather speedos. They actually wore armor. Keep '300' in your fantasies.

  • Indeed, Jrv2005 may think that I am just a 'little kid', who doesn't know his information, but it's quite the contrary. He is the dipshit who decided to read my comment wrong, when there was indeed a Xerxes in command of the Persian forces on the Greek Peninsula during the Battle of Marathon, and Xerxes II was the commander of the Persian forces during Thermopylae and the campaign afterwards. Oh well, it's ok to criticize people when you are in fact wrong. I'm glad you know your stuff though.

  • Um...what the hell are you talking about? I know you can look stuff up on wikipedia. That's great. Apparently you didn't read my comment right because I never said anything about xerxes. You said that the battle of Marathon was after the battle of thermopolye, and you were in fact wrong. Nothing I said was wrong. Your just pulling random facts out of your ass that have nothing to do with anything. Please, wait until I comment back before declaring that you win the argument when you're an idiot.

  • You probably looked it up on Wikipedia, and since I was wrong I guess I didn't, thanks friend.

  • @HeavyOrdnance Lmfao @ leather speedos!

  • And you think you're so cool because you cuss a lot....lame....

  • What a cool come back. You want a fucking cookie? Please, go tell on me to your mother and see if I give a shit.

  • There were more than one Xerxes. The Xerxes in the battle of Thermopylae was the son of the won that was defeated in Marathon. So I can relate to you, I will add some words. FUCK FUCK FUCK SHIT SHIT FUCK FUCK SHIT, FUCK FUCK! I AM SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW, I AM USING CAPS AND YELLING AT SOMEONE OVER YOUTUBE AND I THINK THAT BECAUSE OF MY MISUNDERSTANDINGS ITS PROPERLY JUSTIFIED TO YELL AT PEOPLE! RAWR! I AM SO MAD! Chill man.

  • Also, I love how you try to make your sentences look as sophisticated as possible to retain some sort of maturity. Believe me, I've encountered 100's of other idiots like you on the internet and those little strategies don't work. Feel free to comment back, I'll just make you look like an even bigger idiot. Or, you can turn off your computer, forget you got owned, and go masterbate in your restroom or something. Good luck with life dumbass.

  • Hm, guess you're right. Thanks for correcting me. I'll leave out the vulgarities judging by the fact that you already have used more than I normally see out of 10 average people in 10 average days. My apologies for my lack of knowledge in this subject and just for the record my friend. There were two Xerxes.

  • Oh, and if this couldn't get any worse for your reputation, I actually looked it up, and it was Darius that led that persians at Marathon, not xerxes. There was only one xerxes. I wasn't even arguing that, but thanks for proving my point that your a stupid little kid that doesn't know anything except for a few scattered facts you found on the internet. Nice job owning yourself dumbass.

  • But I just have a question; what type of sophistication am I attempting to use in my sentences? My multiple commas that are sometimes incorrectly placed in front of dependent clauses? Please I insist you make me look like an idiot by mindlessly spamming this guy's video. We could be mature and use message, or you could attempt to publicly humiliate me. I may be immature in your eyes, but at least I have the balls to apologize and admit I was wrong. Deflate your ego, asswipe.

  • Hah, silly me. I reversed everything. Marathon, lead by Darius the Great lead up to Thermopylae, a continuation of Darius' European campaign who was lead by Xerxes who was the son of Darius I believe. Hah...How stupid of me. I know what you're thinking too, I just want to see it come to light.

  • I respect you admittance. Most people wouldn't admit they were wrong. Good job.

  • Jrv2005 he tried his best right u slut

  • You kids come up with the most random insults. Slut? Randomly shouting things you heard your dad say to your mom isn't effective in an argument. There is a comment section on youtube to express your opinion of the video. His video sucks. Hence, I express the fact that it sucks.

  • I know, right? He used the same thing on me. I guess they didn't think that they're just as bad as us trying to demonize us when we were in fact just having a historical debate.

  • be quit slipknoter92 there notmen there spartans

  • If you think you're clever...then you really need to open a book. Look up the battle of Sparta. Obviously YOU are the only one who bought into the Hollywood crap..thinking it wasn't "real". It was REAL...to a point. Hollywood's take on Sparta was true...their take on the battle half true. 7,000 Greeks fought at the battle. 300 Spartans chose to stay after being betrayed. The remainder left. Next time do your reserch before you make your ideas public. Stupidity is communicable.

  • were you back in the time of Sparta and Greece and all the other things? i didnt think so so how do you know that they cant hold them off?

  • @slipknoter92 Go back to school.

  • From Persia to Al Qaeda. what is the link between these? Al Qaeda's people are Arab.

  • Not only Arabs. Their location is world wide. And remember. The Arabs converted the persians into Muslims. That's why I consider some of the Al Qaeda members to be Persians.

  • From Persia to Al Qaeda. What will Iran do next?

  • the movie is actually more real than fake, except for lots of the creatures they put in it... like there were actually 300 spartans, they fought at the hot gates, and all died... Now the 10000 spartans at the end not sure about..

  • 300 Spartans yes, but there were 1000 other Greeks that died with them, and they all died at Thermopylae, but there were many more Greeks before the Persians got behind the Spartans, so it is right in many ways.

  • Lol. That's a bridge, And seriously why do everyone have to discuss history and insult Persians they're country do not exist Persia is now Iran and maybe Irak (I'm not sure about

Irak) And sorry if I spell Irak wrong I don't tend to study other nations names in english :)

  • In English, Iraq is spelled with a Q instead of a K. And I'm not sure about it once being part of Persia, I think it may have just been Iran. But I'm no scholar so I'll leave it up to someone else to decide. ;)

  • The Persians managed to conquer the middle east, Asia Minor, Egypt and Iran. And yet, Hollywood betrays them as pathetic.

If you actually believe this movie, you really need to read some books.

  • @Cordman1221 Persians were actually brave soldiers and skilled in fighting in open areas.

  • @AvengeWithDarkness

They very much were. But the problem with Persian battle strategy revealed itself in the battle of Thermopylae. The Persian's relied heavily on Chariot and Calvary forces drawn from the noble classes, while the main foot force were usually poorly-trained and equipped peasant levies. On the wide plains of Anatolia, this strategy worked fine, but in the narrow passes of the Peloponnese, this strategy couldn't work, forcing the Persians to rely on their peasant levies.

  • @Cordman1221 Indeed. Greek Hoplites were far superior in close quarters combat.

  • what game is this??? I want it its cool

  • lol the PERSIANS?.. these people are jokes!

these clOuns couldnt penetrate to a STRONG army they call THE SPARTANS!

    only 3OO!!!!! comon clOuNs!

  • Dude Persians were the strongest and largest moving force... But spartans r just trained at age 7 to fight and they only keep normal babies, any little problem and they r fed to wolves.

  • Strength in numbers, most of the soldiers were conscriptions and untained soldiers given crap gear and were used as cannon fodder to weaken the enemy forces so the "Immortals" could come and destroy the tired army.

  • Uhhh bizzar0pope, you can produce something a like the Thermopylae pass. You should look up moe videos. I've created a pass alike it before, so ummm back off.

  • where do you play this?
