And on the topic of sequel, it isn't completely insane to think there will be another Dissidia of some form. The reason is that is sold extremely well in Japan already. But there has been no such thing mentioned by Squareenix yet so we have assume there not working on one (yet!).

of cause Ashe is the main chara. XII tells the story of HER fight for HER kingdom. Bash serves her, Balthier follows for money. Fran simply follows balthier und Vaan and Penelo are compleatly useless. for the story at least. There isn't even a propper reasen for the two to be along. I guess they are in the party cause 4 is a bad number for characters when 3 are on the fild at the same time...

No, they all have their primary weapons divided, its just that they can swap around in FFXII. In revenant wings, you see that everyone has their set weapon. Vaan uses one handed swords, Penelo uses staves, Fran uses bows, Balthier uses Guns, Asche uses... hand bombs... and Basch uses two handed swords.

Vaan isn't the main character/hero of FFXII, for one thing. If this game did have a FFXII hero/villain rep it would likely be Ashelia and Vayne, Basch and Gabranth, or Balthier and Cid.

gabranth, imo, is probably one of the better representations of the villians of ffxii, simply because vayne and dr. cid were more of puppets than actual villians. i dont think the ocuria could really be added, but gabranth was a good choice.

if they wanted to add a hero from ffxii, they should add basch or ashe because they have a more direct relationship with gabranth, plot wise. i mean, the others were kinda just dragged in to the conflict

It doesn't matter if Vayne works together with an occuria or not, he would fit perfectly as a Dissidia villain. Golbez and Jecht are there as well - and in my opinion Seymour and Zemus would be better, but of course you can use Golbez and Jecht better for Cecil and Tidus. But well...Vayne would be cool, cause he is cool enough, he has a transformation for an ex modehis psycho vayne super sayan mode, he uses cool weapons,the sephira and that's all what you need.And he is interested in crystals.

Actually, it's ALL of Basch's quickenings. It works just like in FFXII. Though I think it's harder to actually do than in FFXII as you have shorter time, it seems. And the final attack varies depending on what level you reach. Based on only a few things I've seen; dunno the full details.
