Mac fanboys are pretty sad. Sorry to say. Dells aren't cheaper because they're poor quality. They're cheaper because dell has revolutionized the process of selling building and shipping their product. Everything is Internet based. They order the best parts from the best countries for the best price because their system is so advanced. Don't believe me? Find a dell build center. Their warehouses keep a maximum of 2 days worth of stock. Yet I can still order my xps 17 and get it within a week.

@ViciousDave4Life You forget about he quality of the screen you didn't go into that option on the Dell XPS, you didn't mention Thunderbolt on the macbook pro, you did not say anything about the magnetic charger, you did not talk about the battery life of the mac compared to the dell, you didn't say anything about the uni-body of the mac compared to some cheap plastic, you didn't say anything about the content you get on mac such as the App Store and you didn't say how you can dual boot on a mac.

@plabanroy05 Thunderbolt is like a usb apart from the cable is thunderbolt either side, it is something like 10x faster than usb and the screen quality is like the resolution like the macbook pros use 1900x1200 but the dells have something like 1800x1000 or somewhere around there so the higher the better :)

give the dell xps a 9 cell 92 whr battery, and it will have more battery life then the MBP 15 which has a 77.5 whr battery and just about the same as the MPB 17 95 whr battery.

@fhs31053 Yes but the XPS is still plastic at the end of the day. The macbook will always have a much better battery than a Dell and usb 3.0 isn't widespread either, my guess is most people will start moving to thunderbolt.

@iTunesMyMac dude battery life is not rocket science, the MBP 15 has a 77.5 whr battery, who cares the amount of cells it has, the xps 15 in can have up to a 92 whr battery, give both laptops the same parts, the dell will have longer battery life overall.

Yea the Dell is cheeper with the same specs but the one and all important reason that it is cheeper is because its a "DELL", Batterie life is shit, and screen quality is horrible and total build quality is horrible, Now im not talking build quality as in chips, harddrive ex, I mean case the dell is very cheeply made... Plus you pay the extra 1000 for great software that is included in the mac, i would look at the high end HP's over any "Dell", just my little say... other then that great vid dave

You can't compare a Dell to a Mac. Completely different OS, completely different experience. And you forgot about the Thunderbolt port, which is a big deal if you plan on keeping your computer for the next few years.

I just bought a $2000 gaming quality laptop (Sager np8170) with gtx 485m, which will run crysis on high at 1080p around 50-60 fps...something i bought using GOVERNMENT HANDOUTS! I'll bet that makes you mad i can sit at home enjoying FULL HD QUALITY pc gaming on a LAPTOP while you are stuck with shitty mac playing with steve jobs nutsack

@rottenkrist I forgot to mention how great it must be to run that game in full quality, it's not like it adds to or improves quality. I have tried the game and while being very pretty looking yes I found just as much enjoyment playing Team Fortress 2 or any of the Call Of Duty games. But hey at least your $2000 wont go to waste because your machine can be put to good use maxing out the graphics of a 2 year old game whos sequel drops this month. Circle gets the square!

Apple is able to charge what they want because no other competition within their OS. OSX security through obscurity is slowly decline, currently now a new Trojan Virus called Blackhole RAT is being developed targeting OSX. It will be just a matter of time as OSX gains in popularity that more security problems will exist.

IT'S NOT exactly the same thing at dell... well plastic cheap quality, fine if you want that.

- When you sell your dell after 3 years you will get like nothing for it. After using the Mac 3 years, you will get about 2/3 of the money back...... I earn money for using a mac, Mac is cheaper if you will sell your computer and buy a new one. The selling value is something all PC fanboys forget.

you cant compare it either cause look it this crap: Macbook has unibody, lightpeak. What is with the display? LED? The trackpad is superior on Mac. Software is different. And most important on mobile devices is battery life? i ve seeking on HP website for this, oh boy cant find it (crap company). Software and Hardware on macs is alined on each other. You pick a few specs and then you mean you can compare it to each other. I ve found some laptops on Dells site which is more exapnsive. Guess why?

Personally I'm a Mac and I got nothing against PC's. I was a PC for awhile but now I am a Mac person due to virus's. I go back to PC if it wasn't for windows. However there is Linux but that program is chaotic lol. That is my personal opinion and if no one likes it to bad. Peace!

Understand, I am not covering for a Mac...they are overpriced when it comes to hardware vs hardware out of the box...but what is the OS worth to you? What are the items like iLife worth to you...these are items that are priced into the Mac OS...is it right...no, but look at the full picture and give your opinion. In a week or less you will post a complete opposite video claiming Macs are worth it...come on!

The reason the hardware on a PC is better than on a Mac is because OS X doesn't need near what Windows needs to run decently. And 3D technology is past its prime, so who really cares? Windows is a piece of shit.

I hated Macs before Windows Vista came out. Now, I use Macs every day and I will never go back to crappy Windows. Don't care about fucking games either.

I've also owned an acer laptop 1.8ghz amd dual core turion with 1gb ram, 160gb & nvidia 7100 graphics running vista. While it did take a bit longer to boot up, it ran fine once done booting. You can see in the link i sent 7 running pretty decently on specs worse than yours, I'm inclined to think it isn't windows & that it's just you.

I'm actually really considering getting the new 3D Dell XPS, the most expensive model is only $1,249 and it comes with an nVidia 550M GT, a pair of glasses, etc and seems really good for 3D gaming

You always get more Hardware for the money with PC than Macs. But for simple video editing and internet use, I like the Mac way better. No problems with viruses, less issues with pop up and adwares. And the iLife package is the better value than Windows Multimedia package. But for gaming and file managements, PC is more familiar to me.
