  • wow brilliant!!

  • best perfomance!

  • what is the name of this piece called?

  • @skaterb11 symphonie espagnole... lalo wrote this in honor of sarasate... note: Lalo is French...

  • who cares about the recording quality. The quality of the artist shines like a light. Doesn't matter if he's playing on an old school box!!. I'd rather listen to this recording than to any modern one.

  • lol indeed

  • "Mush"?, "Commercial"? What are you people thinking??

Heifetz is the best at this--by far. And for speed, nobody comes close. He's possessed!

I love how he plays the middle section. He's not soiling the G-string like so many do. He dances and seduces like a Don Juan--which he was.

Magical accompaniment by the great William Steinberg.

  • comon r u serious??

  • HELLO...This is from the 50's....The equipment then does not compare to modern recordings.

  • I don't agree with you,i think he is great as always!

  • fill's heart with joy..

  • When the opening theme started playing, i was like "That's fucking" fast!

  • Violatione you suck butthole

  • You're a verifiable moron who lacks the fundamental vocabulary to converse on an adult level.

  • I think that Heifetz is the best, but not the best at this movement. It is a great sound, but the notes are all jumbled together! NO offence, people, his sound is CLEARLY the best. But Kogan's clarity makes his sound amazing. Try Heifetz's Paganini Caprice #24, or the Mendelssohn Concerto.

  • i'm with you; stern was the first recording of this for me, and by far still my favorite. i haven't heard kogan play this piece, but kogan's attention to each individual note should make for a classic performance

  • pure!

  • Heifeitz is the GREATEST!!!!!!

  • best performance of this peice i have ever heard

  • perfect!

  • ahh...Bellisimo!

  • Wow, that's amazing, so graceful.

But holy shit!! That's fast!!! Way faster than I've ever heard it. Is it on fast forward or something?

  • No. Heifetz was just amazing!

  • I don't understand how a human being can play the violin so flawlessly...hands down the best player ever!<3

  • Sorry, but this is by all means an unqualified statement, with all due respect to you and the mentioned violinists and many more-like Anne-Sophie Mutter...

You cannot put anyone beside Heifetz as far as pure ability is concerned-anything else is a matter of personal preference. Maybe Paganini would have to come up to push him off his well deserved throne-:)

  • Violatione. The qualified do not brag.

  • I don't see any bragging. I just told the truth.

  • what the fuck are u talking about

  • Where is Maxim Vengerov???

  • Vengerov is a fantastic violinist, but he can't play now.

  • You're right. Replace with Tetzlaff

  • @hyeinee Psyche! Kogan, Kremer, Perlman (on a good day), Kavakos, Mullova, Gluzman, Milstein, Hadelich... (the list goes on) all play or played as well as Heifetz or better.

  • @violatione Ida Haendel...

  • @ArbelBashLoberant yes I love Ida Haendel I met her 10 years ago in Switzerland. She is an Amazing lady!!!!

  • I play this song whenever I need cheering up. ^^

  • This absolutely sparkles--a wonderful recording! Thank you

  • good sound quality. how old?

  • This would probably be the recording from the early 1950's by Heifetz and the RCA Symphony, William Steinberg conducting.

  • The best performance of this piece is Itzhak Perlman with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra - Barenboim conducting.

  • Escreve direito seu burro, é Jascha Heifetz

  • Unusual, five-movement structure the Symphonie has for a de facto violin concerto-like showpiece. As "ideal" as Heifetz (always is), personally I prefer that dimension of soulfulness, apparent that David Oistrakh brought to his performances; e.g., the Lalo w/Martinon and the London Philharmonia Orchestra, 1954. In a mid-century modern sense, recordings from this era were experienced introspectively; without requiring, or themselves being a visual narrative.

  • uh, yeah sure, I agree completely with whatever that guy said.

  • the best violinist to ever exist playing the more addictive song in the universe.

  • perfect! what more can i say...

  • This Rondo sounds extremely difficult. i've never played it, but the rhythm seems a little complicated. But Heifets plays it extraordinarily.

  • the melody part is quite simple but the runs can be quite difficult...if you kno all positions on the violin...you can play this with a 6/10 difficulty...

  • LOVE THE BEGINNING!

  • GREATEST VIOLINIST EVER. Its hard to listen to other violinists play this piece.....he ripped off the color of them..............

  • Pinchas Zukerman

  • I love this piece!!!

  • The way he handles the phrase at 4:00 is one of those amazing touches that Heifetz can create the space for--a master of pace and phrasing.

  • amazing!

  • this is so amazing i can't even imagine what a great violinist Heifetz was. He is my role model. I am going to play this in a month or so.

    I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fantastique! tout simplement FANTASTIQUE

  • Greatest violin player who ever lived.

  • Yes. When you say that about Heifetz, it's actually true. Except maybe for Paganini, but we don't have any recordings of him, so I'm all for the master, Heifetz.

  • SSOOO TRUE!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!

  • Hmmm, I'd plump for Oistrakh, but Heifetz is definitely God-like. I mean it's not like I'll ever be able to achieive anything nearly as amazing, so there probably isn't any point in me trying to decide between them.

  • There is no choice here! The Lalo isn't Oistrach's piece at all. You should try Thibaud for the right style (not always technically spotless, but very personal and with real understanding for the Spanish spirit).

  • It's just your opinion that "Lalo isn't Oistrach's piece at all." Different people interpret music in different ways, that's why music is an art

  • Everything just perfect! Heifetz...one of the greatest violinists in the world...

he was,we is,he will stay forever in our mind and heart...

  • Many say that he's too over mechanical But I say He's the

BEST I'm Still Awed by his playing

  • Years ago , his name was synonymous with perfection . You would be called the "Jasha Heifetz " of bubblegum bubble blowers . etc . I can't think of anyone else since that has acheived that level of respect.

  • has anyone noticed that this video has 51 ratings with all five of the stars shaded? That is something very rare to see on youtube, and is a testament to the quality of Heifetz's playing.

  • his the BEST!!!

  • Heiftiz was the master of violin. So, if you have anything to say against his brilliance, don't comment, and go listen to someone else.

  • He is absolutely master of the violin!

  • HEIFETZ ROCKS!!!!

    hes my favorite violinist ever

  • This performance of the Lalo Symphony Espangole is incredible. Heifetz is the master of the violin!

  • thank you mr heifetz for the brilent performens.does any one has sibelius violin concert in d minor by mr heifetz only thanks

  • i have...heifetz is my favourite violinist but he didn t played that well in my opinion

  • I think I have three recordings of the Sibelius violin concerto played by Heifetz ;-)

  • he's perfect.

  • This is a recording made in June of 1951. William Steinberg conducts the RCA Symphony.

  • wow. clean and stylish.

  • beginning sounds like church bells for some reason :) and yeah, the rest is..you know.. its heifetz, what cna you expect but perfection?

  • so clean.....not a speck of hesitation

    he's the one and only

  • spledificous!

  • maybe its because i've gotten used to his recording, but I like Pearlman's recording of this better than this one

  • Adore Heifetz! Thanks you for music, I can listen to him forever!

  • I prefer Grumiaux's interpretation

  • he's soooo good...

  • going through my body, from toes to my head

  • what a talent

  • who's the conductor?

  • Always a joy to listen to Heifetz. Do you have the 1st movement?

  • no, sorry.

  • darn, do you have anything else heifetz?

  • @ztefieh I allways likes to Lalo! Offcourse Heifetz too... This is my favorit. I lesten this sins i was 3! I also have Sibelius! Have nice life with music! Its almost what we need... and there is love!
