Those plant don't just assemble cars and trucks, but make all the products that are use to assemble the cars and trucks in the US. If I loose my job, I get my last pay day along with (if I am lucky) my vacation days as I feel someones boot in my ass.
If a CEO of a corporation gets fired, they get an $11 million dollar paycheck and another job offer in less than a week.
I should be so lucky to ever see the kind of money they're getting for screwing up let alone doing what they are supposed to. Gathering wealth is not what you have done by the way, you have crawled over my back to get where you are.

I hate it when elite CEO's take credit for job creation, as if creating jobs was their goal instead of a side effect. In fact, since most people are fired or laid off by rich employers, you could just as stupidly argue that the rich employers are responsible for destroying jobs.
Jobs are created by customers. Period! If we sell our jobs overseas we will not have the jobs to be each other's customers.
Globalization is the problem, that is why my grandparents generation fought against it.

I think this guy has pulled in about $10 million in 1 year as many of his workers are on food stamps & the last CEO of Home Depot got a severance package worth
close to a quarter billion dollars.

The guy in the video is clueless. Millions are out of home and jobs, poverty increased. 1 in 7 Americans are below poverty line. Companies are not hiring because they are getting more production from the few workers that are left, which is how profit is made. The best jobs for America was moved overseas in search of cheap labor, this is how profit is made. Again who gets the profit from cheap labor, from workers working more for less? The clown in the video isn't doing anyone a favor

@666brainiac "getting more production from the few workers", that's called progress. technical/mechanical. Many over the years have been replaced by machines. Then there was a push to hire new, younger unskilled workers with no training and just have a few others train them on the job. That gets rid of many that over the years has gotten the pay scale up. So with demands down the production will be down as well. I'll continue on some of the jobs that went over seas:

cont: you do know that GM has more plants over seas than here in the US. Those plant don't just assemble cars and trucks, but make all the products that are use to assemble the cars and trucks in the US. Once I found that out and then found that most of teh money that was used to bailout GM went to those plants over seas and not used on the plants here is the US. Welcome to Obama's 'redistribution of wealth', it wasn't to us, but to the cheap labor over seas.

I guess he should fire everyone who works at HD and close up business then? How would that help jobs? His job is to make his company as efficient as possible to make the most money. More done with less resources is the definition of more efficient and guess what? That is progress.
And 1 in 7 are below poverty line? You do know that most of those people own a tv or three, own cars, cell phones. That isn't poverty. That is comfortable living.

Lowes is aweful! Lowes has and Ad running on tv here in Californiam that they are the only one selling Stainmaster Carpet. What a CROCK!! I go over to Home Depot, a block away, and they have Stainmaster Carpet..And its even cheaper than Lowes. Lowes sucks here in Calif. Walk into a home depot, it is packed with people. Walk into a Lowes here, and you can almost hear the crickets in the garden section. The store is Empty of people!

Maybe it's different where you live, but I only shop at Lowe's, and will happily pay more to do so (although in my town, Lowe's undercuts HD), simply because of the horrible treatment my aging father received from their associates. They did everything short of running from him when he needed assistance, something that has never happened at Lowe's.
Besides, I can take my dog into Lowe's with me, since they are not only human-friendly, but pet-friendly, as well.

I wonder how much it will cost Home Depot to send out their tax info to every small business that buys $600 or more a year in supplies from them. The healthcare bill will require every contractor or small business the file a 1099 for any materials bought over $600. Just think how many 1099s Sam or wall mart has to deal with or office max to you local plumbing supply. Massive paper work to the IRS.

@medlock01 FYI Also in the healthcare bill there will be a new tax to the federal government of 3.8% on real estate sales. So if you sell your home through an agent you'll pay the agent their 7% plus you'll now be required to pay the government a 3.8% sales tax. I can't wait to find out what is in the 2000 page finance bill no one read can you?
