  • Here is one question...where the hell do the lanterns go ? and who cleans them up?

  • @SilverSaru

They go into the ocean, maybe, and the ocean maybe cleans them up.

    Maybe.

  • @SilverSaru I would think they'd eventually burn to cinders.....

  • @SilverSaru

well, it depends, somr of the lanterns won't fly too high or too far. it lands everywhere including your roof!!~

we write our wishes this day, and if the lanterns fly high, your wish may come true!!~

  • hÎhi_ànÿòné_wANÑÂ_chat_wÏth_mË_ï_féël_sO_lÔÑelÿ_tòDAy└

  • My family and I also lit a lantern and sent it skywards too. I was surprised when they gave me a traditional chinese brush to write my wish; thought all the lanterns were written in sharpie ^_^; A very fun festival. Wish I could join it again, next year.

  • I LOVE Taiwan and Taiwanese.

They have great hospitality. And thanks for offering relief money to Japan.

    Ilha Formosa!!

  • That's pretty! Anyone know the song?

  • Since 1949 Taiwan have been another country from China, called "Republic of China",but They called "Taiwan" instead of "Republic of China" have been several years. Our capital is Taipei City.Taipei is the larger city of Taiwan which have about 26 million population lived here.I'm Taiwanese,Welcome to Taiwan,

  • @JANK092

Taiwan was commonly called Formosa until late 1970's.

Taiwan is actually a newly adopted officially name(was used before 1949, but not as common as Formosa).

  • @bctvanw Are you Taiwanese ,too?due to learn English,I'm trying publishes article and replay with English maybe not very well to express in English.I'm glad to meet you,and you?

  • hermoso!

  • @vancouversasquatch

    Taiwan ≠ China

  • this must have been a nightmare for the odd ufo flying about

  • i thought of TANGLED too :)

maybe the scenarist has watched this

    its really beautiful

  • TANGLED! :D

  • the best way to describe the feeling when falling in love, it's like releasing million lanterns into the night sky. I remember the movie "Tangled" the lantern scene. its so romantic. I wish Rapunzel is in Taiwan. =) I'm crazy for her thinkin of her every second of my life.=)

  • what happens? do the lanterns float back down? do they fall, burn out just go on and on and on and on and on?! what happens?! i really cerious....

  • omg, this is one of the most incredible things i've seen! truly amazing ((:

  • The Maritime and Coastguard Agency says coastguards and lifeboats are sent out needlessly. In 2010 the agency recorded 1,500 flare incidents, of which 500 were believed to be false alarms caused by lanterns, while the CAA says they also pose danger to landing aircraft.

  • Crops are also at risk; last summer in Oxfordshire, a blaze from a lantern destroyed 2.5 hectares of barley. Litter is also a problem, said the NFU: "The people releasing lanterns wouldn't dream of dumping rubbish, but that's what is happening."

  • UK Civil Aviation Authority wants a ban on the sale of the sky lanterns, which are paper and wire hot air balloons fuelled by a naked flame. "People have no control where they land," said Nick von Westenholz, government affairs adviser for the NFU. Dorset and Somerset fire service said it had seen a sharp increase in lantern fires in the past year. Farmers say cows suffer stomach damage from eating the wire of fallen lanterns.

  • 好美:]

  • amazing.

  • @dutrkxek i can't believe u r a japanese....

  • @LaPluie19 what? taiwan always copy japan.....stop copying!!!!!!!!

  • @dutrkxek u mean da Lantern Festival or....?? if u mean Taiwan is similar to Japan sometimes, yep,i agree. many Taiwanese like Japan, thought Japanese are very polite、diligent and so on, and like Japanese culture,so Taiwan often "copy" Japan, even those no related with Japan ,we write some Japanese words on it.oh, furthermore, u can watch Japanese TV programs、movies, can listen Japanese songs, can discuss ACG with people , can buy Japanese books、clothes、3C products..etc in ur "Fxck Taiwan"

  • @dutrkxek And we are also very similar to japan because japan ruled over formosa for a while. We also learned japanese in school. We are happy to be so close to japan and have so many similarities and so are the japanese people. They are happy as well. So you are clearly mistaken

  • Comment removed

  • @dutrkxek i cant believe you are japanese. Japan loves taiwan and japan helped built our shinkansen. That is not copying. We love Japan also so i do not believe you to be japanese.

  • @dutrkxek How can we copy Japan? This is our traditional!!~

we did this for a reason. long ago, litting lanterns is just for telling ppl that u r safe, (if that erson sees it) they'll know that u r safe, now, we do it kinda for fun

  • @patricia03150 whatever :P taiwan always copy japan culture and china culture :P

  • @dutrkxek

Yeah, because long ago, China leaders i, ruled over Taiwan!!~ and those ppl who lived on Taiwan that time are ppl from China!!~ that is why our cultur ia about the same, and Japanese, they also conquered Taiwan and rulled over us for 18 years, and that is why our cultur are about the same, like when my granpa was a child, he lived when Japan rulled us, so he still can speak Japanese!!~

  • @patricia03150 taiwan so good.........-.-

  • TANGLED :D

  • wow ~

    tangled! so beautiful

  • Tangled....

  • aww. like tangled. <3

    so pretty.

  • So that's where Disney got the idea in Tangled...

  • My next trip I think will be in Taiwan! I hope it will be in time for Lantern Festival.

  • wow i would love to be there to experience this.

  • awesomeヽ( ゚Д゚) 丿スゲー!! if these lanterns reached my country, i wrote "dear taiwan" on them and sent them back

  • anybody know the name of the song?

  • Awesome. We just saw a lantern festival in Seoul, Korea that was really beautiful, too.

  • so pretty :D

  • Would be the most romantic moment if u are watching this with ur love one

  • Looks like Loy Kratong in Thailand.

  • nice video n.n

  • Beautiful

  • fly your lanterns 1st sept ember u.k.

  • I want to buy some of those lanterns, look amazing when fly to the sky :)

  • what song is this?

  • وااااااااااااو

  • lol then the next day the city next door has to clean up 5000 lanterns that have burn out and fallen from the sky-

  • @TheFuckengland 支那人吃屎去

  • the music really sets the tone - anyone know where they got the track from?

  • how beautiful!

  • I love lanterns. Light them up and let it fly in the night. They look like jellyfish in the night sky.

  • Long Live Democratic Taiwan - the World loves you !!!!

  • I am not Taiwanese, but I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE their people

  • Taiwan needs to go ahead and change the name to Republic of Taiwan. Just because a place has the same culture does not mean that it belongs to you. That would be like saying that Austria doesn't have the right to exist and belongs to Germany.

Don't worry about the Reds, Uncle Sam will keep them off your shores.

  • romantic (:

  • iPad 90% are made by taiwan

  • Taiwan is a country, and they have high technolgy stuff, like htc acer, asus, dlink are all made by taiwan, not including 60% parts of iphone is made by taiwan

  • can someone tell mewhy taiwanese people always deny that there ethinicity is chinese even thouigh they celebrate chinese culture and eat chinese food?

  • @Jin6107

chinese always talk about races, gene and blood. They never mention freedom and democracy. The nation is Not consisted of what you look like. It Is consisted of what you believe in. You believe violence and autocracy, fine, then be a chinese. You believe freedom and democracy, we Taiwanese welcome you.

You don't understand the basic difference between ethnicity and nationality.

  • @fs1140333 im not arguing with u im just saying why do taiwanese deny that they are not chinese

  • @Jin6107

Simply because we are not Chinese! Like I said earlier...u simply don't understand the basic difference between ethnicity and nationality. Just because we are ethnically chinese doesn't mean we are from China. Lots of people in united states are immigrated from UK. Are they American or Britain? You can check or write in WHATEVER you want, that belongs to your freedom. But, Taiwan still hasn't been being a part of China since 1895. Taiwanese =/= Chinese.

  • @fs1140333

we refer to your ethnic not your nationality, duuuh. there are portuguese in malaysia, they have never been to portugal but they are still portuguese but malaysian portuguese. japanese with american nationality are still japanese but american japanese. unless you are taiwanese aborigines then i can see your reason to hate people calling you chinese. by the way, i am a chinese, but malaysian chinese. we do celebrate lunar year because we are chinese not because we are malaysian.

  • @fs1140333 japanese with american nationality are still japanese but american japanese. unless you are taiwanese aborigines then i can't see your reason to hate people calling you chinese. by the way, i am a chinese, but malaysian chinese. we do celebrate lunar year because we are chinese not because we are malaysian. malaysian indian don't celebrate lunar year. american speak ENGLISH originated from english in britain. at least they are honest about their language's origin unlike taiwanese

  • @reactorant stfu

  • @Jin6107 You are wrong again. we do not eat chinese food. We have food such as oyster omelet. China dont have that. We have other things such as milky shaved ice, we also have mochi icecream, fried mochi icecream, we also have taiwanese version of Gyoza, and taiwanese styled Takoyaki... and we also eat clear candied covered fruits and such. I am taiwanese and none of the stuff i eat are chinese.... except for rice... but every asian country eats that so it does not count.

  • @soulskyela taiwan is not special. every Chinese province has its own unique traditional food. people in sichuan dont eat the same food as people in zhejiang or hubei. taiwan is just another chinese province but it is controlled by the Republic of China instead of the "peoples republic of china". we're the SAME COUNTRY, and the SAME PEOPLE who share the SAME HISTORY/CULTURE. we're just controlled by DIFFERENT GOVERNMENTS. please don't mingle Chinese politics with Chinese culture.

  • taiwan will always be a part of china since taiwan clebrates chinese culture and traditions

  • @Jin6107

lol Singaporean celebrate Lunar new year too. Is singapore a part of china?

  • @fs1140333 its not a prt of china but it is related to china we are all asian thats all that matters

  • @Jin6107 Isn't the offical name of taiwan is "Republic of China" according to their constitution?

  • @Jin6107 NO you are terribly wrong!!! Taiwan is not china becuase our culture is totally different. There are many things you do not know so do not assume this. We celebrate our own traditions and we have many other traditions mixed together not chinas.

  • hey this is really cool and everything but I was just wondering what happens to the lanterns? Do they all fall back onto the ground?

  • Paz, Amor, União & Respeito !

    watch?v=8SyfG0IOKNo

  • taiwan suckers don't celebrate our festival, invent your own

  • @stackatfontys CHinese and taiwanese are the same, Dumb shit thats why they call it Republic of china

  • lightning festivals are beautyfull

  • @lcsxwtian We admit we aren't bitches that eat dogs for sure.

  • @lalaken333 clearly you have never been there, Taiwan eat dogs too, and nothing wrong with it...although I am a vegetarian, it's hypocritical for you to criticise others for what TYPE of meat is wrong to eat, the truth is - if you eat meat yourself your argument is void.

  • @joydivisionfanboy What did you say? I am taiwanese and i go to taiwan every 2-3 years. WE DONT EAT DOGS. clearly you never been there. haha.

  • @slimjbs1 only a brainwashed prc chink would say that

  • @slimjbs1 ha you called yourself chink. haha. BTW TAIWAN IS NOT PART OF CHINA

  • Taiwan people hate China, however this place if full of Chinese traditions... How is that? What the fuck is going on?

  • @hcn9

    i agree!

  • Don't confuse People's Republic of China with Chinese Culture.

  • @TheCentralasian That's because Taiwan's population is. Taiwan's official name is the Republic of China (RC, to be distinguished from the People's Republic of China--PRC, which is Mainland China). Some Chinese in the RC wants independence from the PRC but it doesn't make them any less Chinese in terms of culture and identity.

  • this's not true!

    we r country

    we r Taiwan.

  • Taiwan is its own country

  • horrible

  • taiwanese dont eat dogs thats china

  • @reillz86 Yeah, Chinese only thinks about war and shit. We take care of animals as they are one of us.
