I used a video camera, actually! then downloaded to imovie, added the b/w filter and sped it up to the max three or four times over. Found out about something called Screenium after I did this, though. Anyone tried it?
The letters were scanned, autotraced and sorted in Illustrator CS3. I then copy and paste the alphabets into Fontographer 4.7.3 where the cleanup is done and the rest of the characters created.
