My Xperia was killing me. I ended up customizing my ROM (6.1) and removing panels + other useless junk. Xperia was suddenly 30-50% faster. Removed my SIM lock too....
It does lag like that when you rotate the panels, and it does lag when you play recorded VGA high fps (30) video on it only if its a "heavy video" lots of colors, close ups and stuff.. But recorded video itself is without any lag. It plays large very nice q vids when converted properly. You can without any lag have the media player playing songs and msn messenger running in the background while surfing the web.. I'm very happy with it.

i have none custom apps installed (except few panels) but i have a huge collection of songs (they're all stored on memory card) my xperia sometimes is just boiling and the keyboard is not responding well (i press the button and nothing happens and sometimes i press the button and i get 3 letters printed like: helppp... thats annoying)
Slow my ass... the user is slow. If you dont know how to flash your X1 with custom rom and add tf3d then yes it will be slow. My X1i works amazingly fast

touchflo 3d) untill then it was slow too. i hardresetted the phone 2 times now because it was completly fucked up (wasn't able to acess any files). can this ever be fixed? dont tell me not to install to many apps. i dont have so many.

the panel manager seems to be the biggest problem all other apps are running good, not 100% perfect but good.
i dont know why so many people haveing slow bugs. mine is as perfect as it can be. mine is smooth from landscape to portrait and back. but i havent downloaded any other special progs other than pocket artist, age of empires. and morhpgear emulator. so that may be the reason mine aint that laggy! only one thing left to say! THIS PPC IS FUCKIN AWESOME!!!!!

C'mon that is some old demo version of the xperia, there r other videos here that show that it is fast just the way it needs to be. I guess u have one of the phones that was given for unveiling the outside look of the xperia but didn't had yet finished software and hardware computability

This is NOT slow.. Have in mind, that we are talking about 9 active homescreens.. Im impressed that its possible to do this on a phone.. It would look nicer if it were faster, but perhaps an update will change this..
Note! The X1 has 384 MB RAM, of which 128 is for graphic only! Try to imagine how iPhone would handle 9 panels with its total 128 MB. ::)
yeah this device is much more powerful than that stupid piece of fruit. the iPhone is rubbish. the worst camera, the biggest brick phone. they say it was slimmer than the previous iPhone but when I saw the iPhone 3G. I was shocked to see a giant brick in my hand ! Sony Ericsson has sooooooo much more technology to offer than apple can ever do.
Ok not that I am against this phone as I got it and I am quite happy with it. But panels do not show miniaturized version of actual panel. They are just graphics for representing one. That's why they never show the right time, fishes do not swim. And when you choose panel you can actually see it zooming into that graphic and then loading the panel with correct time, shortcuts and stuff.
Well, I have a video to prove my point. Maybe you can put your own video and mention what your "other phones" and "everything apart from that" are? =P
The panel application is separate from the applications that are run by the panels. The panels are only shortcuts.
And as for fast applications, you should see what happens when watching video, etc. with other applications open. It's all Windows Mobile. It will never be fast. =D
The 9 programs are not all running at the same time. Those panels are just images until you select them, then the application is opened. When you switch to another panel, the application is shut down.
mountins out of mole hills i say at least you have one us in australia dont even have a release date so we can be impacient consider yourself lucky(its not that bay any way firmware will fix this)

Mine X1 is 10 times faster. If yours is a retailversion than do a hard reset, but I think your X1 is NOT a retailversion

The 9 programs are not all running at the same time. Those panels are just images until you select them, then the application is opened. When you switch to another panel, the application is shut down.
Given that, it's even more inexcusable.
