  • Yup.

  • so this is pretty much what the misquito evolved from...

  • I seen one the other day online fully assembled $12.500 used 252 hrs on it.

  • andthe price ?? i would like to now alone that and it s in a kit or not?

  • My city, Rio de Janeiro at 4:50. Coolllll.

  • My city Rio de Janeiro, 4:50 cool

  • the auto giro was invented by barns wallis and used in a james bond film with barns wallis as the pilot long befor mr fedders got his hands on it . vor sprung englas . lol

  • Actually, De La Jan Ceeva was the inventor of the Autogyro. Wing Command "Ken" Wallis built his gyroplane many years after, even after Dr. Bensens Gyrocopter. It is very common knowledge that Ken Wallis built his first gyroplane many years before I designed mine. I am very proud to say that the Commander is a friend of mine. You do understand that this video is about helicopters, and the fundamental difference between the two? Also you know my name is spelled Fetters, with two T''s?

  • @fettersbuiltco

Mr. Fetters, I am a former UH-1 and UH-60 pilot in the Army (24 Years 4500hrs). You are my Idol and an inspiration to me and many other rotary wing aviators out there!!!

  • damn it, its not in production anymore is it? ive seen a few pop up for a minimum of around 11k dissembled, ready to be built again.

  • anyone know how much for a second hand model ?

  • can you buy it already assembled and what kind of fuel does it need?

  • The best thing is to keep and eye on Ebay, but be careful, it is hard to find one that has been assembled properly, and will probably need to be completely disassembled and put back together exactly as the instructions dictate. They used automotive fuel, above 91.

  • wow! its hard to remember how many idiots there are until you come across comments like these? cool helicopter ! hope to have one some day.

  • were to buy?

  • Best place is ebay, once in a while one will show up there.

  • She's quite fat, I'm thinking she might imbalance the helicopter.

  • Well, I guess theres something to be said for having two skinny wifes. Have you ever considered changing religions?? ;-)

  • :) might be an answer to the probem

  • I was thinking of buyinig one of these to take my wife to work, unfortunately, its a one person helicopter. Additionally I have no flying experience, so it's probably for the best that i didn't buy one.

  • Well, what the hecks wrong with her standing on the skid? I mean, how far away does she work, anyway??

  • ay mate do these guys have a web site and are they in australian as well

  • We closed the factory in 1999, along with the website. Yes, we sold numerous aircraft to down-under.

  • Yes. This is a real helicopter, and requires just as many skills to fly as a helicopter costing millions of dollars. Although there is no other helicopter as affordable to fly and performs as well as the Mini-500 (for the $), there are no shortcuts to safely operate this helicopter. One of the problems with the Mini-500 was that 72% of the owners had less than 50 hours in helicopters, and 100% of everyone was flying a helicopter built by someone for the first time, and their mistakes too.

  • I'd like to see the military version with a couple of mini chainguns, a 360' nite-vision video system and a few other nifty gadgets, solid flat black that would be sick.

  • Still Dennis, it was an amazing machine ... I marvel at your engineering skill to produce such a kit. It deserves a special place in the kit plane community hall-of-fame ...if there was one!!!

  • Thank you very much for saying that. The reward comes with the success of having made it fly, and building another 500 after that. It was challenging indeed, but glad I moved on to other projects.

  • I agree! But, there's that little thing in the way, called the law. Back then, this could only be sold as a kit helicopter, and every owner was an individual, independent, and although it sounds good to organize them to build together, it would never happen. I couldn't get people to bring their helicopter to my factory for a free inspection before flight, but they wouldn't come until 40 hours, then they shook it to death. I wish we could have organized them like that, but never happen.

  • You are absolutely correct. Although I shipped out 500 kits, I only built 3 Mini-500's. All three flew very well and reliable, of what they were. But, for every owner, it was their first time. Even though, it is remarkable that no Mini-500 ever crashed and killed someone due to a properly installed and maintained part failing, nor did the aircraft have any bad flying characteristics that caused a death. But, because of the fact in what you said, I will never sell another helicopter kit.

  • Were do you get the parts for a revolution mini 500?As for building a kit areo craft ,the people that do fly hobby are people with some kind of back ground in areo fizics. You would not build one unless you have a concept of what these planes are to work in a ratio of weight, balance to g's put on this crafts. And a craftsman would see the formate of his layout.MSJR

  • There's one for sale on Ebay for $16,999.00 Just wish I had the money to buy one, they look like so much fun to fly!! Some day soon hopefully!!

  • Were can i take certificate to fly that?

  • i wish they made a 2 seater like this

  • I WANT ONE! My Dad was a life-long helicopter pilot including a tour in Vietnam. Many a time he landed a Bell 47 or a full-size Hughes 500 at our house, in the pasture. More fun than a person should be allowed to have!

  • whats the price for one of those

  • They sold as a new kit for around $28,000USD back in 1999.

  • I built a desk once and it was absolutely rubbish, I used to build little model planes and they to were rubbish; there's no way I would trust myself to build a helicopter.

  • Looking back, I have to agree with you. The majority of people that built a helicopter kit of any kind, had no business trying to do so. Helicopters are far to complex of a vehicle for the average person to try and build correctly, because 100% of everything has to be correct 100% of the time. I would never sell another kit helicopter. Thank you for your honesty.

  • yep 100% correct

  • show de bola!

  • that's cool......

  • Thank you!
