  • This is absolutley incredible! no one else could've done this better except Mr "Tony Stark" lol.

  • Wow I honestly did not expect him to be this convincing.

  • wow i'm amazed at robert downey jr.'s talent here...i've always thought highly of him but this is brilliant

  • I love this film is amazing, Robert Downey Jr. and Charles Chaplin too.

  • I just finished watching Gold Rush a few minutes ago and I'll tell you I had to keep reminding myself that it wasn't Robert Downey Jr., it was Chaplin. It's honestly hard to tell the difference.

  • what movie are they shooting in that scene?

    a real of charlie`s movies?

  • @AleXX1995XX It does remind of a scene from The Adventurer 1917 but in the original scene, he is runing from a cop. But the gags are about the same. A nice film!

  • this scene brings tears to my eyes because if you really think about it it's the birth of modern day comedy

  • I think maybe robert is a reincarnation of Charlie Chaplin in some sort of way

  • wish there was a video with the real clip of that scene but with the real charlie chaplin that would be so cool

  • he is the best look a like

  • Aw, forget the little Limey! Too funny!

  • Love it. ... . Tory from Austin Texas. Singer songwriter musician. Check out my originals and subscribe if you like. Please listen to my own original of The Little Tramp..a tribute to Charlie Chaplin

  • I love how he does Chaplin's smile so perfectly.

  • this movie is bs! No one can compete with Charlie Chaplin.

  • RDJ moves like he is Chaplin himself.

amazing. both of them. RDJ and Charlie Chaplin.

  • The way he moves is incredible.

  • Chaplin was robbed of many more things than an Oscar my friend, but he overcame them all.

  • I am really impressed by his acting skills as chaplin. He looks just like him when he laughs. I mean seriously o.0

  • ROBBED, absolutely ROBBED of his Oscar...HONESTLY!!!

  • Dude that year Just about eveyone thought that sum1 got robbed back when RBJ got nominated....I mean look who got noms that year

Scent of a Woman - Al Pacino

    Chaplin - Robert Downey, Jr.

The Crying Game - Stephen Rea

    Malcolm X - Denzel Washington

    Unforgiven - Clint Eastwood

Pacino won btw (WHICH WAS BULSHIT!!)

  • Man he had Chaplin down scary-good. The toddling pigeontoed walk, the opportunististic comedic timing, the shoulder movements, the graceful clumsiness, the beatific smile. eery, but in a good way.

  • THE REBIRTH D:

  • lol.... "suit of armor"

  • My thoughts exactly(:

  • wow this movie is just amazing i love it! and to believe his real daughter played his mother in the movie! she was great! my fave movie of all time!

  • Which movie were they filming in this scene????

And is this the first movie with the little "Tramp"???

  • the movie is called "Chapin"

  • It's not an actual scene in any movie the tramp has done. The chasing around the camera, annoying the photographer bit was spoofed from "Kid Auto Races" which was the Tramps first appearance. The big chase while flirty eyed with the girl and then hiding under the lamp shade, can be seen in, I think, The Adventurer.

  • If we're being honest NOTHING was done in one take back then, and the real cute flirtiness of Chaplin's Tramp wasn't really present until he was doing the Mutual Comedies. haha, he was kind of a meanie in the Essanay comedies where he started off with Mack Sennet. All ass-kickery and such! But if they had tried to replicate an actual scene it would have stunk, as nothing would ever be as good as the original.

  • @BlondeSkrawberry you know what Just because something is original and old. doesnt make them GOD. there is alot of talent and people who put their soul into their work and do match and surpass classics. like Lon Chaney or Chaplin.

PS anyone realise that Chaney and Chaplin were both silent actors. with the ch in the name. ITs a CURSE!

  • @thecopykidofthestarz boy I sue hope it doesn't make them God! =P

  • @BlondeSkrawberry could you Imagine going to heaven and Jesus was the little tramp and god was Lon Chaney? lol

  • wow!!!!!!!

    magnificant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • As a Londoner I was horrified when Robert Downey Jnr was cast to play Charlie Chaplin.

I was so happy to be so wrong !!!

  • 1:56 ! my favourite! The Tramp is BORN :D

  • It wasn't movie, it was real masterpiece. Robert Downey Jr. was brilliant as Charlie. I love also Diane Lane, Kevin Kline, very young and cute Milla Jovovich in this movie

  • long and boring. after this scene it went downhill.

  • magnific

  • smilee is so sweeet!!!!!

  • 2:55 = ADORABLE!

  • 3:07

he does the nose wrinkle so perfect.

i mean, only charlie could really do it but

god, does rdj do a wonderful job (:

  • "Oh, that magical moment."

I can't force my eyes to go anywhere but him.

It's wonderful, he's wonderful, charles is wonderful. sigh.

  • Robert Downey Jr. is the best actor I have ever seen!

  • I can never listen to music from John Barry without getting shivers...

  • did u see him at 1:26,he looked so adorable and yet so sexy.

  • Just gotta add... Does this make anyone else sexually attracted to Chaplin? Orrrrr is it just me?

  • ROBBED.

  • I love Charlie Chaplin, he was so amazing at what he did.. flawless. Robert Downey Jr couldn't have done a better job with this.. he got Chaplin's mannerisms down to a T. He freaking nailed it. You can tell he put alot of passion into this role.

  • Well, i got the Dvd, i can put it in if you wish?..

  • it would be really awesome if you put the movie on youtube

  • Id rather just by the DVD and give money to this production.

  • The only problem is that there is a nude scene or two, so we'll see if Youtube will accept it..

  • Just edit it so that you skip those scenes or use censorship.

  • where did u get the dvd I want it so bad!

  • I once bought it in a store in Denmark named Moby Disc, they had alot of stuff that was unknown or speciel in some ways, or just simpely rare. But you can probaly buy it on Ebay.

  • does anyone know where I can watch this movie online?

  • I love RDJr, but this is the only part of the film where I felt I was really watching Charlie, and not just him playing Chaplin. At 2:55 and 3:58, that's Charlie's smile.

  • excellente!!!

  • CHAPLIN RULES!!!

  • great,he was actting well.

  • i died laughing at this part!

  • Perfect.

  • that's exactly what i was thinking as i was watching this. imagine what charlie's real family must have thought and felt when they saw this movie.
