  • nice video

  • I just love Dalis comments in the beginning ahhha

  • Who cares if you can copy a painting? What are YOUR WORKS ABOUT? Any yayhoo can apply themselves to the craft of painting and make reasonable facimilies. New York alone is home to several thousand such workers.

  • Very cool!

  • Great work!!!!

  • nice job :)

  • good job

  • well, i say great job..i love dali's artwork, and admire the painting you just did..i dont remember any painting of dali's where the elephants faced eachother, so actually it's not a copy, rather then a likeness, or a dali-esc painting.(.to the whiners)

so i say bravo to the artist good job..

  • What ever..

  • I agree. nice job..

  • I find it quite amusing how some people seem to be personally offended by this vid. As if they're defending Dalí for some reason Envious?

Why not just let this guy copy the painting and be proud of it? He clearly has some talent even tho it's not a perfect copy (at least not of Dalí's style).

Dalí did copy others himself; for example The Lacemaker by Vermeer.

"An artist is not one who is inspired, but one who can inspire others."

"Is it hard to love Dalí?

    No, it's soft."

  • "An artist is not one who is inspired, but one who can inspire others."

Im pretty sure both of those statements are true. Heh

  • Oh and for the "copy" whiners here. Practice and applied study is the foundation of any form of art. Learning how YOUR "brush" moves with comparison. It's like youre saying we should stop re-orchestrating the classics of the arts.

  • @Dalbrix I've never heard of those quotes before. lol I love the response for "Is it HARD to love Dali?" haha it's soft. right. I don't see what can be offensive about this video. I think the way the subtitles are added inaccurately for his speech (found in an interview, which I just listened to earlier). I think they add a hilarity to his speech, it's what makes Dali such a fascinating artist to learn about. I think the painter did a terrific job duplicating Dali's style. No need to be jealous.

  • wow! it is so gerat!

    You are truly pathetic.

  • nice painting you got skill and glad to hear you sold it ,i wish i knew how to paint like that, been oil painting for one year without lessons it sucks when you got no one to guide you and the painting lessons here in New York are expensive but i will NEVER EVER give up.

  • ELEPHANTS

  • so this kinda pisses me off.

I have that picture on my wall.

  • ...so this is the most insulting thing i've ever seen, dali would be ashamed. A time lapse of his style? You really think you hack of a paintin is representative of his style...u cheapen surrealism sir , try getting ur own ideas

  • you do realise that Dali himself gained much of his exposure from using Dadaist notions of a complete disregard of reason and going against the Modernist idea of art being a perfect commodity, and the artist being put on a huge pedestal?

So get off your fucking high horse, do your fucking research and stop attempting to defend something which doesn't need defending.

The dude's just painting, and doing a damn good job of it. With attitudes like your's, it's hardly encouraging, is it?

  • nice job on your ignorance of one of the greatest artistic minds of the twentieth century. Its pretty sad that you are an artist and clearly know nothing of art. I appreciate your technical talent, so use it to paint something original next time.

  • nice. awesome. :)

  • "my moustache is like contrary of le moustache of friedrich nietzsche. friedrich nietzsche is depressive moustache, plenty of music and pop, and romantisism. and le dali moustache is exactly the same cut to the scissors. hilarious!!

  • Bravo, good stuff that is.

  • Did Dali really sound incomprehensible?? If so, the guy was a nut.

How did you make the time lapse film of Dali and his moustache?

    It was funny. Good one!

  • Read the autobiography. He did it on purpose; and he was a genius...you sincerely have no idea how much your modernity owes any of its validity and posterity to surrealism personified.

    ...you insult me

  • Pseudo-intellectual.

  • Oh, you pretentious folk with your semi-colons and your fancy shmancy "-ity" words that you read in Hemingway novels and hear on NPR... I hate to love you. Actually, now that I look at your comment, I'm sure you aren't one o' them. (ha-ha). Your grammar is incorrectomundo! You should read more Hemingway and listen to more NPR!! In other words, you are a bit douchey, and yes, I feel the need to waste my own time telling you this. I'm just one of those people.

  • BAhahahaha that is great.

  • "you pretentious folk with your semi-colons and your fancy shmancy..." oh my christ that sentence grates on me so much, hah, you're an idiot.

although "you sincerely have no idea how much your modernity owes any of its validity and posterity to surrealism personified." sounds like a joke to you that's 'cause you are not INTELLIGENT.

  • VERY cool!!

  • not bad, but nobody ever can paint like dali. never again !!!

  • it was just a study. and i agree. there was a time and place for that and its already passed.
