I'm taking a Tai Chi class and watching Avatar (the REAL Avatar) has helped my fluidity in the art. The first move in this clip is called Rocking Motion. The arms come up together and then go back together. The second move is called Carry the Ball... for obvious reasons. : P I agree with Tetsuijntenshou that a waterbender wouldn't fling it over their head.
@magiclice I haven't seen the movie so I don't know. I was refering to the "REAL Avatar" as being the story of Aang and not the blue-alien movie of Avatar. They stole that title.
Eh, in the end he wouldn't throw it over his head, you have to remember that any type of element "Bending" is based purely off different styles of Martial Arts, look at some Tai-Chi moves for water bending, it'll make it look better but animation wise I absolutely loved it since it's not choppy. Realy looks like it would be used as a springboard for an anime series lol
i agree, and i feel like he wouldn't have split the water. it doesn't seem to serve a purpose. martial arts don't usually leave room for frivolous movement.
Your right, I've studied a couple of years in it myself and the entire time it's all about generating the most power in the shortest movement / time, and really I think that applies to all martial arts unless it's a style ment to turn someone elses moves against them.
when it gets cold the water molecules slow down (heat=energy). the molecules spread out to bond all of their valence electrons w/ other water molecules. (thus the size increases. but the density decreases.) in a liquid state, the molecules are moving very fast and the hydrogen bonds break and re-bond very easily.
i disagree. i feel like the initial splitting of the water doesn't make sense in regards to the art water bending was derived from. tai chi is about a balance between defending and attacking at all times. that particular stance does neither.
I agree. The move at the end with the arms windmilling around would be easy for an attacker to take advantage of. If he definitely wants the water to split he could use the form from Ward -> Withdraw -> Push
very cool waterbending move. as the model is bringing its arm up, it seems like there should be another frame showing its arm midway through the motion and more outstretched
when the two water things become one and when the right arm lashed out the "spike"... something about the physics dont seem right. but its still cool and something you would see in the show : ]
Water increases in volume as it freezes, as dissolved gases form bubbles within the ice. That is why ice floats; same mass, greater volume yield lower density. Therefore, as ice melts, the water takes up less volume than the ice did
may ı steal this move, will give credit

That is very awesome. You captured the idea of Waterbending perfectly, and the move is super cool. Make one for fire and air!

gasty83 4 years ago
wrong, when something freezes it's molocules contract moving closer together and look like they got smaller(not bigger)
pokejm32 4 years ago
no, you are wrong.. the ice acupates more space than liquid water..
