    ...

    somebody go kill the fogger

  • What's wrong with the acting?

  • Has anyone said anything about JGL being in this????

  • Ugh, I don't like this Willie Loomis. Give me John Karlen over this guy anytime. Even James Hall was better than this.

  • This was the Dark Shadows I fell in love with as a high school kid in the early 90s. I hope the Johnny Depp movie is something like this series. If not, in my book it will be a flop. Personally, I would have rather had a British actor play Barnabas. Ben Cross was incredible! If you want a taste of Dark Shadows watch all 12 of these episodes. The old series is classic daytime soap, but moves too slowly for me. Love Grayson Hall, though.

  • Johnny Depp as Barnabas will be an abortion

  • Is it me, or does JGL look like a tiny Bill Hicks?

  • @davidadamsawyer this was the 90's version

  • The acting its from the 90's idiot dont hate.

  • Wow. The acting in this is pathetic.

  • and i dont think you can really break a chain that thick with just a crowbar........who is the technical director on this flick because they sure do not pay attention to detail.......lol

  • IF you watch this all the way to the end of season one, you'll take note then never did they show WHY the family jewels were placed in the mausoleum or who put them there......so NO CLUE why its the opening segment to the entire story line.......lol......ooops....somebody goofed.......

  • I'm coming to find that athough i'm very fond of the original, this remake has its charm also. Too bad the war affected the show. Would have loved to see it carry on.

  • i got a lot of mixed feelings...i kinda like the vampire so far...not so happy with the others...willie's ok....but the others lack personality charm individuality...black and white would have helped

  • vampire's now can take a few tips from vampire's in dark shadows...jk idk haha

  • Oh! I miss this show so much!!

  • So this is the 90's version?

  • I've always loved Dark Shadows (original and remake)...thanks for posting :D

  • One of the best remakes EVER !

But the original and theatrical movie, "House of Dark Shadows" still rule!

  • @forrykid allegedly tim burton is making a remake with johnny depp

  • @koffeekage, there is no "allegedness" to it, Tim Burton is making a movie with Johnny Depp playing the role of Barnabas Collins.

  • @RexBlazer1 shut up

  • @Annihilate3275, I beg your pardon?

  • @RexBlazer1 wow, that doesnt even sound possible. i mean depp is a good actorbut theres a very distinct physical appearance to barnabas. I would have called up Liam Neeson.

  • @koffeekage Depp will definitely have to make his own interpretation of this role and I haven't seen him fail yet... but Liam would make an excellent Barnabas :)

  • Well....it is a vampire show...

  • oh fuck i thought this was the original from the 60's. this sucks :))

  • wow does this bring back serioulsy memories :)

  • I love this show - they don't make them like they used too ! Jennifer

  • Was this a movie or pilot that preceded the 1991 revival series?

  • @cindyshealed This was from 1991.

  • i love the classic but anything free that i can watch is awesome!

  • @kellina84 agreed :)! I've been wanting to watch this for a long while now. I hope to get the DVD set if there is one. It's probably going to be fifty or sixty dollars though XD

  • AWWWW its a mini Joseph Gordon Levitt!!!!!!!

  • I love Dark Shadows both the original and this 1991 revival. Even though no one could ever replace Jonathan Frid, I think Ben Cross was able to bring out a more romantic and seductive side to him. I'm so sad that this series never got a chance to conclude, neither did the original 1960 series either! Why must all Dark Shadows Series end up getting cancelled before conclusion!!!!????

  • The 1991 series was badly made. Ben Cross did a good job as Barnabas but noone could replace Jonathan Frid.

  • I remember watching this show when I was a kid. It was a great show, but the raitings fell because of the Gulf War, and they had to cancel the show after the first season.

  • @70SixtyTen Yeah I kinda hated that this show had to air during the Gulf War since it wasn't really given a fair chance due to always being re-scheduled. This show probably would have gone on for so many seasons. I heard over 50,000 people wrote letters in protest to NBC when it got cancelled.

  • I remember when i was a kid growing up watching the original i was more afraid of angelique than barnabas she was pretty witchy.

  • 2:13 "ohhhhhhhhhhhh i wouldn't open that unless some one has a shotgun handy"

2:27: *sees the dead rat* OH GOD!

    DAVID WAS SICK FREAK!

  • 01:16:30 : "What a beautiful melody!"

Trust me, Victoria. After you've sat through all the original series episodes and the miniseries, the melody will sicken you. As will hearing Barnabas lament, over and over and over about his "lost" Josette. Never mind his cheating on her with Angelique when she was his fiance, sleeping under the same roof. And Angelique didn't have to use any witchcraft to accomplish that much. She only had to wear revealing gowns.

  • 06:15 Roger: I've *told* you about this! Stop drinking multiple bottles of booze while on duty! Now you get your ass in that truck that hasn't passed safety inspection in nearly a decade, go down to the bar, and drive Miss Winters up the steep and treacherous road back to Collinwood! Now! And oh, by the way, all the guard rails have been taken down for replacement. So be careful!

  • man i love willy

  • Wow...this was....this was actually REALLY good.

All of the actors are rather incredible, and the atmosphere is fantastic. I have no idea why this particular series didn't last longer.

  • It's a BEAUTIFUL remake. It just makes the mistake of jumping back in forth in time, thus being confusing to new viewers and lessoning the impact of Barnabas transforming. Rather faithful for a remake, as well. Why did they remove all of the blue day for night work...a flawed transfer?

  • I hate how every god damn vampire movie/series in history is always being compared to Twilight. Who gives a fuck whether or not Twilight is good or not. Everyone is gonna have different opinions, and there is nothing we can say or do that will change that. So please stop comparing Twilight to everything, because whether you realize it or not, by talking about them 24/7, your only making them more popular.

  • @racheladams456 Twilight is horrible.I had to sit through it with my younger cousin.Baby sitting that day.

  • @cubicaljane Did you read my comment? I don't care.

  • @racheladams456 Yeah I read your comment but why lash out.geez.Whatever.I'm done here anyway.

  • @racheladams456 i agree completly i like twilight but i hate people comparing it to everthing too

  • What a lousy remake the 1990's series version, I'll take the original cheesy bad sets and mistakes and all the classic series is 100% better than the revival series but cause of the superior writing and acting at times asnd even mood sets!, what can be said it was a daily horror show!? I, hope Tim Burton's is in line with the original but do not expects anything great, Sincerely hope I'm wrong!

  • @RaynaKapek It wasn't a remake but a re immagining the reason so many remakes seem lousy and unfaithful stems from the fact fans don't know what they are the show was good in it's own right and part of the orginal's appeal was it over the top acting no one ever said it was good.

  • @mayhem9024 whatever, remake re-imagining isnt eve a word. I am @ Vassar College second year Film and Journalism, This series was on the year I was born in 1991, but the show made back in the 1960s is so much better than this whatever you call it in every way...meanwhile lets see Johnny Depp in his version with friends and our generation shall decide which is best. (:

  • The vampire screaming "Willie!!!!" is the entire reason I watch this show.

  • Never saw this before. Actually, as remakes go, this was pretty good. Nothing can replace the old Dark Shadows even with the occasional over-acting, flubbed lines or set "malfunctions"--it was and always will be the best.

  • I was sooooooo pissed off when they cancelled this in the 1990's, and whats worse is they cutt off right at a cliff hanger in the story

  • Even though neither I nor any of my fellow Dark Shadows TOS cohorts (save for Dan Curtis and Sam Hall)) were part of this show many of us watched and liked the new life the new cast breathed into it! My late friend Michael Stroka (Aristede) especially was fond of this! He talked very highly of it, I think he really wanted to be in it! Dan promised to put many of us into it in the second season but the show was very short lived!

  • @DonnaWandrey I always thought Michael Stroka was so hot! I cried when I heard of his passing.

  • @sheilatx Oh no! What happened to him!? hes not really old! :*(

  • @DonnaWandrey , I'm happy you and some of the cast enjoyed the new series. As a Fan of the Original Show it was much better then the new series. I didn't care for the new series. I'm sure the new cast are fine actors but for me the new series didn't match up to the original.

  • thanks so much for uploading this, i love it sooo much!

  • Cheese factor 5000. The 1960's version was much better. Hope Johnny Depp does a better job!

  • im a fan of original 1966 darkshadows and 1991 version thanx for uploading

  • Use to rush home our family would sit to watch the old Dark Shadows, The 90"s came the whole family would call or record so no one would miss a episode!

  • Like BarnabasCollins? Try Sebastian Vasilis "Last Rites: The return of Sebastian Vasilis"

  • Agreed Phil it Is bad, GUESS nothing will ever come close to the original?, PROBLY not even Johnny Dipps new one will!!

    TOTAL FAIL.

  • What a horrible remake of the original Dark Shadows, easy to see why it was canceled after 13 weeks, get a load of that fake looking Collinwood!, a still picture of the original series version clip would have looked more realistic than this toy town recreation, what a big distraction, and whats with the retard Willie?, at least the original Willie has a bit of sense. Ben Cross was good. so a 3/10.

  • bad singing, worse dancing

Why are these people running their mouth about things?. How to tell if your boyfriend is vampire. If he only comes out at night, he is probably a vampire. When you kiss him, watch the teeth, watch the teeth!

  • bad singing, worse dancing

Why are these people running their mouth about things?. How to tell if your boyfriend is vampire. If he only comes out at night, he is probably a vampire.

  • bad singing, worse dancing

  • Out of all the roles I have seen Ben Cross play this is by far my favorite, it is so intense.

  • Thanks MGM for posting this...a truly selfless endeavour. Am enjoying this. Back around '69, my best friend Cary dug this show. I never watched it until now. Very groovy 4 sure.

  • I just can't thank you enough for uploading all these good shows and videos. Thank you.

  • Thanks for uploading this MGM, I loved this series as a kid, wish it got to stay on

  • So... this is what? The story of Bram Stoker's Dracula in Maryland? lol

  • I used to looove this show when I was a kid, I'm getting it on DVD!

  • Thumbs Up for Dark Shadows Revival , based on the Movie House Of Dark Shadows,

  • Lol Barabus is such a creeper, He hides in peoples cars.

  • I loved that show! I was addicted to that show!

  • I watched these in high school, never realized each show was so long.

  • I love this show.Thnx for posting

  • Cullens...cheap knock off of the Collins. I was born in '91 when the NBC version aired and I've still got enough sense to recognize this. Lol. Twilight blows.

  • It goes past that. Roger Collins of 1966, when the cast was moved back to the 19th century, became Edward Collins, an ancestor.

And Bella seems to be a goof on Béla Lugosi's, name, but since stephanie meyer seems woefully ignorant of the versions that came before Ann Rice and the Lost Boys, may think it's a play on Disney's Belle, not realizing of course that the name came from Jean Cocteau's, La Belle et la Bête from the the story by Madame Leprince de Beaumont published 1756.

  • @ysbaddaden2003 Woah. I didn't know all that. :)

  • @xsultrysongstress79x I remember the original from the 1960's. I used to race home from school to watch it. This was before VCR's.

I had the distinct honor and pleasure of listening to Jonathan Frid do several readings of selected works by Edgar Allen Poe and then I was able to meet and talk with him in person. It was an unforgettable experience.

  • @xsultrysongstress79x I thought the exact same thing when I first heard the name Cullen...actually at first I thought they'd said "Collin"! Dark Shadows totally trumps Twilight...

  • @xsultrysongstress79x actually, Cullen is a very Irish last name, and I heard somewhere that I means "beautiful" or some crap like that.

  • @xsultrysongstress79x Who are you kidding? The '91 remake sucked just as bad. Black & white original episodes. FTW.

  • @xsultrysongstress79x ha i was born in 1990 and i didn't this shit. checking out if it's good or not

  • awesome - need new story line with some original cast playing different roles - with Colbert soundtrack

  • Strange. MGM's DVD release for this Dark Shadows series is widescreen, but their uploads here are fullscreen. Why do the YouTube uploads get the correct ratio, but our DVDs get jipped?

  • i love anything Tim Burton, or T.B. related

  • I'll never forget the day I drove into Griffith Park and saw the Collins family tombstones set up near Ferndell Loop, one of the locations used in this 1991 miniseries. I was quite a fan of the original series and was glad to see it return. I hope they're successful in bringing the Tim Burton version to the big screen soon.

  • There was only one season. The Gulf war broke out and it was was postponed due to new coverage. As far as I know the ratings never recovered.

  • I really do think I like this one better than the original. either way, barnabas is sooooo hot

  • Loved this show as a child, this and Night Gallery kept my mind entertained and always on the "dark" side.
