How you have it it's called a Short Ram Inake. It could be a cold air intake but you have it facing towards the engine which = HEAT so theres no "cold air" being drawn here. It really depends where the end leads to. lol so basically if you can move it downwards problem fixed :] But you already knew that.

Please learn before you speak...as many pointed out, thats a SHORT RAM intake..SRI for short...a cold air would be down in the wheel well...and no the sri didn't mess up you car. It's probably as others pointed out, you installed it incorrectly or you were just plain dumb (my intake nigga ring a bell) and decided your car was invincible now that you had an intake and beat on it till something broke.
cold air intakes are installed down below the engine bay near the wheel well in most 7th gen celicas, short ram intakes such as this 1 in the vid are installed in the engine bay as above ^

the celica is 2000 gts my intake fits perfect but it just makes the engine light turn on i think air was going out of it thats why the engine light would turn on i fixed it now it not back yet

you said this short ram intake messed up your car. but i doubt that. i bet its your crappy driving. i can tell you probably were going to have problems no matter what. as you played with that throttle i could hear the rpms going to high just to show some random people a video. redlining will blow your engine. and or cause other serious problems to it. maybe it was both the sri and your driving that messed it up. or you installed it wrong

change the name on this video. that is a short ram intake (sri) not a cold air intake. the cold air intake for a celica travels down your engine compartment and recieves the cooler air flowing under your car as you drive. this is not a cold air intake. its a short ram. but still cool. just change the name
For me yes ! Because I bought cold air intake it came with cheap filter and my engine light came on after 20 mile because engine need true amount of air if it gonna take too rich or too poor air your engine light comes on
And also your engine light comes on that's because of it sucks hot air and you using cheap filter try to change your filter with good 1 like AEM INJEN K&N APEXI and Toyota doesnt recommend any intake but those brand names are the best ones...But most important thing is filter..I got my CAI from ebay I payed 50 $ and I put AEM dryflow filter with it which is 45$...They both works excellent...
not the reason..check your sensors. make sure there not damaged and installed correctly. its not your filter. the only way any car can get a check engine light is if something electrical is broken or damaged.
haha CEL come on cuz of hot air? wow no thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard. his CEL is on probably cuz he didnt install his senors right. a CEL only comes on cars if something ELECTRICAL is broken. not cuz of hot air. what if you lived in a place above like 100* (degrees)? you wouldnt get a check engine light cuz of that.lol think before you speak man.
and this is just an inlet pipe... it has no way of cooling the air... the HP you get with these things, cant be noticed by driving, it only make a tiny difference on a dyno test.

it was very sad for that guy. LOL
