  • I use to live there

  • angela robinson excited as hell in that opening about the olympics lol

  • Mike Landess started his career in Cleveland in the early 1970s at WKYC Channel 3 as a reporter and later as co-anchor to Ohio news legend Doug Adair replacing Virgil Dominic who became WJW Channel 8's news director.

  • What's with the bottom graphics lacking the "Alive" on the logo?

  • @tmisch64 They were coming off their "11 News" phase. They dropped the Alive out of the news for about a year - they were back to calling it 11Alive News by the Olympics but the graphics didn't catch up for a bit.

  • I was there for opening ceremonies! I still have the ticket; was a great time.

  • I LOVED this opening. I forgot about Angela Robinson though. I was working that night in that parking lot. lol There was so many people in Atlanta during the games. lol

  • 1995.

  • Is That Mike Landess that used to be on WXIA's sister station KUSA Denver for years along with Ed Sardella?

  • Mike Landess is at KMGH (ABC) in Denver, and Angela Robinson is at WPBA (PBS) in Atlanta. Keith Whitney is still at WXIA.

  • Where are who at now?

  • Kewl.

  • Very hip and very cool for '96 graphics standards. And I like that they tailored this for midnight. And yes, I believe this was "The Speed Of Life", one of Gari's NBC affiliate collection packages.

  • from 11 Alive YOUR Nbc station atLANTA'S ofFICAL station for the oLYMPIC Games THIS is 11 Alive NEWS at midnight

  • I would give my left knee to see the entire news broadcast (or at least a larger portion...)

  • why is it at midnight

  • The Games ran until midnight covering up the 11pm. Same thing that's about to happen to your local NBC stations.

  • Yay Ang

  • Do you have the "World is Coming to Atlanta" promo?

  • The World is Coming to Atlanta...Thanks to Gordon Smith and Frank Gari...The best News Music...

  • No carry-over whatsoever. Everyone goes to sleep afterwards.

  • Was this a special cut of Speed of Life?

  • I think it was based on Speed of Life.

  • It's a special NBC Olympic branding package by Gari.

  • please put all this report:)

  • I believe it was around Labor Day of 1994. They dropped the Alive from the news and brought it back just about the time of the Olympics. In fact this open does not include the "Alive" in the logo but the voice over says it.

  • Keep em coming! Mike and Angie were great on 11Alive

  • Ah....the lighting of the McDonald's fry box!

  • i know. many people said the same thing:)
