Its a new take on an old story, something that has been done by DISNEY ASWELL! (The disney classics bear very little resemberlance to the original fairy tales)

I just got done watching this clip with my niece (we were seeing if they had the original Thumbelina) and frankly I'm excedingly dissapointed. The movie does look fun yes however it's COMPLETELY different from the original. If I'm not mistaken (and I apologize if I am) this is purgery. It's one thing to tweek the story line a little but to completely change it to a story about the "Twitterbee's saving the twitterbabies from construction" is VERY innapropriate. Stick to the originals.

Sorry, I am tired of the "humanity evil, nature good" theme in these movies. Yes destroying things like forests is not a good idea, but it is tiring to see it all the time. I will judge the movie on good or bad when I see it, and if you arent going to play on the plot of the original fairytale... dont use the name! If you were to turn in an "original" story like this in any school or college you would be investigated for purgery, seriously.

I don't understand why everyone is complaining that "its not the original story of thumberlina", the barbie versions of Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Rapunzel and 12 Dancing Princesses have very little resemblance to the original stories but no one complains about that. Give Thumberlina a chance!

I think one reason people are complaining is because this one has nothing in common apart from the name. At least the others kept most of the main points from the story (Mouse King, Land of Sweets, girl with long hair imprisoned in tower...). You make a good point, though.

personally i preferred barbies nut cracker, i always feel sad when clara wakes up , she got a prince and that was it, he dissipated. can't beat Don Bluth's version, sorry. Not trying to be rude, but adding all this "help are earth" ruins the simple, beautiful story. I don't even mind it being CGI, but... and again, don't get me wrong. I grew up on Nutcracker, Rapunzel, and Swan Lake. All are verrry special to me. So I might give this a chance, but for me, Don Bluth's is golden. (Even Golden Films', which I haven't actually seen yet, looks pretty good.)

Personally, I don't mind the message. Heck, my favorite childhood movie was Ferngully. But the fact that it's so vastly different from the original story (at least it looks that way) kind of puts me off. The only thing it seems to have in common is the name and the inclusion of fairy-like creatures.

But hey, it's not out yet, so I'm willing to give it a chance too even though I agree that nothing beats Don Bluth's version of the fairy tale.

barbie's role is probably like the storyteller like in Barbie and a Christmas Carol or Diamond Castle. But, like in Diamond Castle or Christmas Carol, there'll probably be a main character resembling Barbie like Liana or Eden so I'm guessing Thumbelina would resemble Barbie.

Thumbelina's not the same without Cornelius. No offense to the Barbie company, but they're killing some of the best stories! Like A Christmas Carol; it just doesn't work as well with a spoiled singer as it does with a bitter old moneybag! But they DID make Nutcracker more interesting! But Swan Princess pretty much sucked. Even though THEIR prince actually had a backbone!
