  • doging can be deadly

  • Ali was tall with long legs so he could afford to dodge punches with his footwork and distance. No point in comparing the two. Tyson had the perfect style for his body.

  • @Madsweeps leaning back from punchs is just as dangerus as confronting. because you will be out of balance...

  • shit fuk, that wasnt dodging!

  • That was not all that I have seen better

  • dodging punches with the face

  • not to say something bad about tyson but Ali was dodgin with hands down.

and not to say somthing bad about Ali but tyson has more power.

  • @iLove2JacketXD tyson has more power because hes just bigger in general

  • @iLove2JacketXD Not to say something bad about Tyson and Ali, but Roy Jones Jr. had power, speed and dodging skills balanced altogether.

  • @Detsurasu True... jones was a beast!

  • 4real that was great

  • How the hell could you cut out the shot he threw directly afterwords that knocked the other guy down? :(

  • the other guys punches are like sliding on him lol.

  • Does not captivate the head movement of Tyson at all.... there was a video on youtube of him dodgeing 21 punches in a row, countering with only 1 punch and knocking his opponent out, search for it totally worth it .

  • Thanks for the caption at 0:15 because I was REALLY confused as to which fighter was MIke Tyson.

    Thanks again.

  • it kills me when some TYSON HATERS bring up Buster Douglas, lol, so what ?, Tyson still was only 20 years old when he won the Title, & he dominated the 80's beating - Jesse Ferguson James Tillis Mitch Green Marvis Frazier Jose Ribalta Alfonzo Ratliff Trevor Berbick Bone Crusher Smith Pinklyn Thomas Tony Tucker Tyrell Biggs Larry Holmes Tony Tubbs Micheal Spinks Frank Bruno Carl Williams & more. i still say HE TOOK DOUGLAS LIGHTLY, thats why he lost, but he an impressive resume anyway
  • i swear he got hit on every punch

  • @TheHpsauce247

know what u lookin at buddy !!,

he got hit once with the left uppercut, & nothin else landed clean, he made every other punch just graze him,

the point is that the guy will throw 12 fast punches at Tyson, maybe only 3 will land,

& thats how young Tyson was, only very few punches he'll get hit by, but the vast majority of punches are gonna miss.,

  • hes got nothing on ali

  • Coming from a Manny fan. Mayweather is probably the best of all time at defensive fighting.

  • @TheDommelos Willie Pep

  • Ali was better at dodging, evading and countering by a clear mile. Ali was a far superior boxer.

  • to say that tyson never fought top fighters is utterly ridiculous in every sense... did he not beat the world champion at the time, did he not beat the other 2 world champions and unify the belt? did he not knock out former champion holmes? did he not knock out peoples champion spinks? his first 9 title defense were against champions and #1 contenders. he fought 4 fights in '87 while champ, 3 fights in '88, and 2 in '89... leaving rooney was his decline, with him mike was unstoppable, in any era

  • @twoxcents He was "unstoppable" in his prime because he NEVER faced one HW in there prime that was a top 50 all time. Old washed up Spinks and old man Holmes are his best wins? HAHAHAHA thats pathetic! just look at who Ali and frazer beat compared to tyson. Tyson had POTENTIAL to be great but he was mentally weak

  • He didn't dodge many punches against James 'Buster' Douglas...

  • @znarf541 \AAARRRGGGGHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

  • @znarf541

thats because he left trainer Kevin Rooney, & he stopped using his head movement as much,

even the experts point that out ,

    he took Buster lightely

  • ali was better at dodgin punches in my opinion

  • @theman2942 You must be kidding

  • @theman2942 Ali backed up and moved out the pocket to avoid punches....tyson stayed right up in your grill while evading punches....that's scary...

  • @DAV1EBOYEE510 Ali was also never KOed or TKOed and faced MUCH tougher competition, has WAY bigger names on his resumé and has accomplished 100 times more then Tyson.

  • @ben1ben2ben1 actually larry holmes tkoed ali...if u remember because you are a true boxing fan right

  • @DAV1EBOYEE510 ACTUALLY it was a corner stoppage you fucking retard. Ali has never been TKOed. Learn your boxing history before making yourself look stupid

  • @ben1ben2ben1 corner stoppage is a TKO you fucking RETARD!

  • @ben1ben2ben1 EXAMPLE OF A TKO

Corner Stoppage: The fighter is being completely dominated, to the point where it is becoming dangerous. His corner decides to surrender on his behalf to prevent unnecessary damage or potential injury. (This is also known as "throwing in the towel").

  • @DAV1EBOYEE510 A TKO stands for TECHNICAL KNOCK OUT! A corner stoppage IS NOT A TKO! A corner stoppage is A FUCKING CORNER STOPPAGE! There two completely different things! Look in the recored books. Ali has never been TKOed or KOed and thats a fact. They talk about this in the "Facing Ali" documentary

  • @ben1ben2ben1 if you look up TKO it will tell you a corner stoppage is written down as a TKO. every corner stoppage that has ever happened went down in the record books as a TKO. Get your facts straight retard.

  • look up Ali vs Holmes it will always go in the record books as TKO (corner stoppage)

  • @ben1ben2ben1 no buddy a corner stoppage is a TKO....look it up einstein

  • @ben1ben2ben1 - all that effort in trying to discredit tyson's greatness, and u didnt even know that a corner stoppage is a TKO....

  • @twoxcents discredit tyson's greatness? He isnt a top 10 HW ever and anyone who follows boxing knows this, He was good but there was no "greatness"

  • @ben1ben2ben1 - a deteriorated tyson went 11 rnds with a prime holyfield, and even an over the hill non training tyson went 8 rnds with a prime lennox... dont confuse yourself.. mike tyson was and will be great... and prime tyson will always be in the conversations when it comes to whos the greatest.... believe it buddy

  • @twoxcents HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA you just proved you dont know shit about boxing! Holyfield was coming back from retirement and was barley even cleared to fight. Holyfield looked like shit in his previous fights and was a HUGE underdog to Tyson. Tyson IS NOT ranked top 10 HW by any creadible site/magazine/expert! Ring Magazine, ESPN, ESB etc.. Funny how you dont bring up any of his wins. Tyson NEVER beat one credible opponent in there prime. He just KOed cans

  • @theman2942

same here bro u carnt compete with ali

  • @theman2942 it goes without saying

  • @theman2942

Ali ran backwards, Tyson came forward, so Tyson had the harder time dodging punches than Ali did.

  • @theman2942 ali stood far away. his defense was in his feet (as he said himself). tyson has totally different style and does very different kind of dodging.

  • @theman2942 my grandpa faught ali. he was gonna be ion the olypmics to fight him. they saw eachother in a drug store in chicago 3 weeks befor it and faught there. my grandpa got a boxers fraction and couldnt fight him. i swear on my damn life.

  • @LucasDykes what was your grandpa called? and i believe you :)

  • @theman2942 o no he wasnt that famouse, he just was round my area ( MO ) but he traveld cause he owned a gym. his name is dan fagan. i tryed fnding shit on him on google and stuff and couldnt. but this was back when he was still cashus clay. early 60's

  • @theman2942

I disagree; not only was Ali taller, many of his video show him dodging counters or straight punches mostly......Tyson is shorter and can dodge just as good.....and Tyson's opponents are swinging rapidly mostly.....even though he DOES have more videos widely available.

  • @AceofDlamonds Exactly, Tyson would close in on his opponents and so he bobbed and weaved a lot more than Ali did too. Ali was quicker on his feet and would dance around his opponent's punches in order to escape.

  • @theman2942 Ali got punched far far far too much! Doesn't it show now that he did?

  • @theman2942 he was better at taking punches

  • @theman2942 lol no way in hell

  • @theman2942 First of all you can't compare the two considering Mike was an In-fighter and ali was an out-boxer. In my opinion its harder to dodge as an in-fighter.

  • @theman2942 ............Tyson was better at absorbing punches. Look how much punishment Razor Ruddock gave him, yet he still ko'd Ruddock. Ali would have lost to Tyson. Even Ali said so himself.

  • @theman2942 ali is a run/dancer tyson dodges and duck and confront ppl

  • Its not really dodging if youre getting hit, lol.

  • ben1ben2 you are an idiot if you say Tyson was anything but a monster. During his prime he would have demolished any fighter.

  • @monegarand Well that and he finally faced some decent opponents. Even when he was young he never had one really good win

  • wow that shit was like a matrix

  • If only Alan had known how to do this in The Hangover...

  • I agree he had incredible reflexes and speed, but that is a poor example to be honest x

  • This was from the fight Mike Tyson vs Reggie Gross in june 1986.

The dodging looks even more impressive at normal speed

  • Ali Was Better

  • Mike who?

  • Which one was Mike Tyson again?

  • Omnomnom ears

  • @SPSFOREVER douche

  • 0:14 Thanks...Good to know

  • thanks for pointing Mike out

saved me having to work that out for myself

  • this video is gay

  • wow what i wouldnt give to dodge like that, amazing

  • HACKER

  • great dodging

  • Mike Tyson not so good at dodging buster douglas!

  • @utahboy86 mike was done by that time man, look at his older stuff in his prime. he would have been way to much to handle for douglas

  • @utahboy86

Tyson took Douglas lightely, thats why he lost,

something like Lenox Lewis did with Hasim Rahman, & Rahman KO'd him ,

but Lewis was able to win in the rematch with Rahman,

& thats exactly what Tyson wouldve did if he fought Douglas in the rematch,

    TYSON WOULDVE KILLED HIM !!

  • Meh.

  • ....he barely slipped a few punches.

From the looks of it, i think this is the fight when Buster upset him in Tokyo.

    @cloud9saul he did go down.

  • @cnh2132 yea it is. thats when he started goin down hill when cus died and instead of training for buster he was bangin jap girls and doin cocaine. sounds like a way to train for a fight huh? lol

  • @cnh2132 It isn't the Douglas fight.

  • This is shit. I dodged way more punches than that. 70% landed. If he had continued doing this he'd be in trouble.

  • @cloud9saul lets see it

  • @cloud9saul dude mike tyson would still kick you ass with 1 percent hits

  • all he's doing is moving his head in a 8 motion hoping that most of them miss. Well that's what I'm seeing when i compare it to muhammad ali's

  • Fucking shit clip!

  • they slid off, it's called a slip. That's what you're supposed to do.

  • Dodging? i swear they all connected jjajaja

  • this video is incomplete... he doges a couple more and then tyson knocks him the fuc out

  • it looked like he got hit by everyone?

  • @saaaamo247 not hard though...

  • @saaaamo247 No punch actuly connected to him just slide right off if you dont get good contact to its classed as dodging

  • He dodged them! Maybe the glove brushed his face a few times but he got out the fury danger zone and he's clearly stable and ready to attack... I can't believe some people are dissing Tysons talents

  • @clusivec Reggie gross

  • who is it that hes fighting?

  • how is that dodging?

    3/4 reached the target...

  • good reflexes? not really.

  • @shawnshawn426 3 words man. You are dumb.

  • @immortalT47 'You're' would have been more appropriate

  • I'll get killed for saying this but I don't think anybody alive couldve beaten the 1984-1989 version of Mike Tyson. He had too much speed, too much power and was too skilled. This clip proves he wasn't just a brawler, he made guys miss too.

  • muhammad ali vs mark tyson ... still waiting!

  • my god all of you people saying he was geting hit and smash r to stupid to see wats going on, he is weaving and dodging to the side so they only graze him, it is very skilled and effective boxing so all you people who r bagin him just shut the hell up cause you have no idea what your talking about!

  • @watchmyshoes22 lol u fuckin dumb it skimmed him no direct contact. Hes a beast no doubt

  • it is extreamly dangerous to do this in kickboxing and mma!!!!!!!!

  • @elizabuzz cause its boxing .. nothing like kick boxing or mma, idiot....

  • @elizabuzz

    Anderson Silva disagrees.

  • Lol wtf he got hit by almost all of those punches. Is he being sarcastic?

  • wtf was this he dogded about 3 the rest fucked him up or missed

  • @0lykperry0 Is your eyes stuck in ur ass or something? He fucking dodged them...

  • tysons head movement was amazing, fnr4 got him spot on..big up

  • Mike vs. Frank Bruno was one of his most awesome examples of head movement, Mike is slowly ADVANCING while completely ducking multiple shots from Frank.

  • He got tipped here and there but it's still pretty cool. But it's definitely not one of his best examples of his peek-a-boo style. Because I've seen much better from him in other fights.

  • nah tysons prime ended when he went to prsion he wasnt the same when he came out but he was at this point the most unbeatable fighter the world had seen

  • Fastest heavy weight fighter

  • Evander Holyfield beat him twice while he was in his prime...

  • all you upcoming shorter boxers who want to learn how to get inside and utilize good head movement, this is the man you study.

  • naaaah! not as good as ali! watch alis reflexes!

  • @richards74 yeah i watched ali's reflexes when he's got fucking parkinsons!!

  • @alexvoce and they were still better than mikes?

  • @trailstar1 yeah why dont u watch fight of the century then he didnt do to well dodging fraziers punches did he

  • @alexvoce Iv watched that fight a few times Fraizers my favourite fighter ever. Neither Ali of Fraizer ever went down for the 10 count. True warriors. Mike was amazing at dodging but that parkinsons comment was uncalled for.

  • @trailstar1 well you should know as well as i do what a scumbag ali was then and how he treated joe was disgusting and he got what he deserves in my and in fraziers opinion

  • @alexvoce, another who jumps on the 'Ali treated Frazier badly' bandwagon. Whatever Ali said about Frazier, Joe gave just as good back. He openly critisized Ali's religion, and has claimed that Ali suffers today as a punishment for being a Muslim. Frazier insisted on calling Ali 'Clay' after his conversion, and also when Ali was in exhile said to President Nixon "GIve him his licence back so I can beat him for you and America." It was a two-way street, and Frazier was no angel himself back then.

  • @iljn1988 dont be ridiculous frazier called him clay only because ali was abusing him non-stop! and no he claimed ali suffers how he does now is retribution for how he treated frazier!

  • @alexvoce, yes, and as I said - why did Ali start abusing Frazier? Because of Frazier's "I'll beat him for you and America" line to President Nixon. Frazier started the war of words, Ali responded, Frazier responded and so on. But the fact that Frazier started it is always swept under the carpet. Besides, you've admitted that Frazier too said his piece - so regardless of who started it, why do you think it's ok for Frazier to mouth off, but not Ali?

  • @iljn1988 no he started it before that frazier used to give ali money when he was not fighting and helped get alis licence back! he said he was not going to get involved with the politics and then ali turned on him and yeah course he shud call him clay if alis calling him an uncle tom etc. clay was and is scum.

  • Well, there's a simple rule in fighting. The heavier you are the harder it is for you to dodge. And for tyson's weight, he did a really good job on dodging some of those attacks but he'd be easily outmatched by Buakaw for example who can dodge practically any average punch. It takes a really fast boxer to score a hit on him.

  • Dodging punches like this, in a street fight situation will get you knocked out. Respect to the dodging but it only works inside the ring, with the rules of boxing. This is where boxing becomes slightly boring to watch. They should implement rules where you cannot slip/dodge punches by moving down and in close, Mike Tyson is taking advantage of the fact you cannot use your legs in boxing... BORING!

  • @TOWinkworthIpswich Your legs are everything in boxing. If you dont believe that, you should try it. And Mike and Duran proved that boxers do well in a street fight. Mike messed up Mitch Green and Duran as a teenager was assaulted by 6 grown men. He knocked out 5 of them before the 6th stabbed him and ran

  • @POTATER1228 You cannot use legs to attack in boxing... And by the sounds of the fight you just described, if you could use legs in boxing.. then that man would not of got stabbed.

  • @TOWinkworthIpswich your legs lets you move away, move your head, and generate power, along with your core muscles. its not exclusively the arms. You try fighting 6 grown men, while defending your girl at 14 years old. The fact that 5 of them ended up on the floor while the other ran away in fear is a pretty good indication. And that was Duran when he was still green. That's something you see in Hollywood, not autobiographies. Can YOU do better?

  • @POTATER1228 Your legs allow you to move," Congratulations" you have a braincell... do you want an award? Theoretically it is impossible to defeat 5 macthed opponents attacking you simultaneously. If they attack you one at a time, not so impossible. It also depends on your attackers contraction (moving forward). So in reply to your question, Yes, given they all attack me in turn, or are all brain-dead, i could take 5 people on.

  • @TOWinkworthIpswich pay attention. Legs generate power. That's what im getting at. it allows you to move SKILLFULLY that's footwork. Anyone can move. It takes training to move effectively. Boxing teaches that. and you saying you could beat 5 guys at once is a theory. Duran actually did it. So if you wanna turn that theory into a reality. Do it and come back to me. They also have to be bigger than you, as duran just hit puberty by the time he fought those adults fought him.

  • @POTATER1228 It doesn't take training to do anything ''effectively'' it takes 'UNDERSTANDING'. Footwork is easy, move your supporting leg first? Wow big deal... Footwork isn't as essential as you say. There is many fighter's who use bad footwork, footwork which doesn't promote or ensure balance. For example: Ali, Naseem, Jones. Power is nothing, it doesn't take much power to knock someone out, take Ali's 'phantom punch' for example, he was moving backwards when he threw that cross.

  • @TOWinkworthIpswich How much have you trained in your entire life? Or are you an armchair technician?

  • @POTATER1228 I have put a lot of time into 'self defense & fighting' in my life. I have put all sorts of fighting methods to the test, different styles systems. Fighting is as hard as moving your hand or your foot.

  • @TOWinkworthIpswich Ah classes. That explains your attitude. Try learning it from experience by living in a ghetto rather than paid classes. My family came from a poor country where people would mug you on the bus, and no one would do anything. Have you ever put your experience to good use in a life or death situation? Ever been held at knife point by 3 guys? I have. And its scary as hell. The idea of fun in my country was getting drunk and fighting each other with machetes. What experience do u

  • @TOWinkworthIpswich have? I still waiting for your examples. All you're talking about is practice and theory. Duran and Tyson know from experience. And let me tell you, you can practice all you want, but your not gonna react when the real thing happens. So you ARE an armchair fighter. its so easy to talk about it. Try doing it.

  • @TOWinkworthIpswich you dumbass have you ever seen a street fight nothing but haymakers the easiest punches to duck

  • @TOWinkworthIpswich haha you don't know shit... if you can dodge professional boxers' punches what makes you think those street haymakers with looping punches could hit you... common sense?

  • I'm lmao-ing cuz the other dude can't punch him properly

  • thts was sarcastic right? i think a lot of people think its serious

  • dude he sucks

  • bullet time!!

  • In boxing, if a shot is only partially landed, it doesn't count. He slipped the almost all of those shots.

Please, stop preaching your boxing knowledge you learned from playing Fight Night.

  • pernell used to do this every round...

  • @Makaveli25x yeah, except pernell didn't counter with a devastating ferocious hook to demolish his opponent after dodging those punches...

  • nice !!

  • fucking cheater. He slowed down time with his boxing shorts

  • bad ass vid. At the end of the vid you should add on the clip at full speed.

  • lolerphone if you put tyson in the ring against anderson silva tyson would lik knock em out

  • Nobody was better than Tyson in his prime, it's common sense. Watch his fights from 84-1990. There are no words.

  • @CtrlRm youre right, i dont know how people who call themselves boxing fans dont see this, they are plain blind and ignorant....im a boxer myself who has had a long amateur career and my first pro fight, and put it this way if you ask any boxer who they would LEAST like to fight im sure the answer will be prime mike tyson.

  • @DangerousDejan No he isnt right! Who did Tyson ever beat (even in his prime) that would make you think no one was better? He had all the skills but skills dont matter if you never use them to beat anyone. Muhammad Ali had beaten Liston, Floyd Patterson, Chuvalo, Cleveland Williams, Ernie Terrell, Frazier, Ken Norton, Big George and Earnie Shavers (who hit twice as hard as Tyson)! Who has tyson beaten? He had potential to be the best but how can you know when he only beat no names and old guys?

  • @CtrlRm Its not hard to look good when you are fighting a bunch of unskilled fighters and washed up old guys. Tyson has never beat a credible opponent and your going to say he is better then Ali, SRR, Sweet Pea, Joe Louis and Willie Pep> Tyson is the most overrated boxer of all time! He never beat ANYONE GOOD

  • @ben1ben2ben1 lol you must be new to boxing.

  • @CtrlRm Really? Because Tyson is the face of the casual boxing fan. He gets overrated because he is a big bad ass who knocked out a bunch of cans and had a marketable personality. Can you back up why you think in his prime he was the best? Because he didnt really show it by beating good opponents. Its kind of pathetic when your best win is Michael Spinks and a washed up Larry Holmes. LOL you must be a casual fan, i bet you also think Manny Pac is the greatest.

BTW Tyson ducked an old Forman

  • @ben1ben2ben1 LOL sounds like you just don't like Tyson, get over it. He was a great boxer and will be remembered just as long as Lewis, Holyfield, and any of those guys from the 80's and 90's. He is a good guy and an interesting personality and happens to be intelligent so people are attracted to him, that's why he is so popular. Did you learn something, dumbfuck?

  • @CtrlRm Look at my favorite videos! I like tyson and i believe he is a top 5 TALENT ever. But for you to claim no one was better then Tyson in his prime is ridiculous! The fact is he never proved himself against the top fighters in the world. He only beat average fighters, and you say he was the best every in his prime? He was one of the most polarizing people in sports history, but because of that people (usually uneducated boxing fans like you) overrate him. He isnt a top 10 all time HW

  • @ben1ben2ben1 - so prime mike only beat average fighters like, 3 champions, 2 former champions, and a series of #1 contenders... then non-prime mike captured 2 heavyweight titles before losing to holyfield... we all know mike wasnt the same fighter after leaving rooney... but to say he fought bums is just ridiculous.. the fact is, prime mike made everyone look like bums, thats just how it was... to say he isnt top 10 all time just makes u a tyson hater bro..

  • @twoxcents Those "champs" he beat were HORRIBLE compared to the competition Ali, Forman (who Tyson Ducked), Frazer, Liston, Joe Louis, Lennox or Dempsey. Ring Magazine (im sure you have heard of them) had Tyson 14th, Sports Illustrated didnt have Tyson top 10, neither did ESPN or Larry Merchant. In fact almost no magazines, ex boxers, analysts or columnists have Tyson top 10, and if they do its on the low end. Tyson had top 10 POTENTIAL but he didnt have the big name wins to put him top 10

  • he got hit more than he dodged but i love tyson he's mah boy

  • 30% is by Mr. Mike Tyson

  • HAHAHA he didnt really dodge that well he got hit in the face a few times....Anderson Silvas dodging skills on Forrest griffin are almost unhuman

  • I love Tyson, but he got clipped by half of the shots, if not more and he has far more elusive fights than this

  • @csk619

CLIPPED by half the shots? its called slipping man, the shots just grazed his head and thats the point of slipping, to not use so much unnecessary motion and just barely have the gloves skid your head

  • @Lolerphone

I have seen people get knocked out like that before, at his level. Getting hit in the temple can knock you out so you want to avoid being hit there, right? Most of the shots didn't just graze his head that connected, they clipped him, meaning made solid contact with a SMALL PORTION of his glove, but not flush, or the whole glove. There are successful slips and there are failed slips; for the most part, these were failed slips.
