goverment grants you civil rights because your citizens of it.. but they deny your human rights, and have no authority to do so.. i wish you people would wake up
@victor4980 An apology does not amend the wrongs of the past. Action does! Instead of apologizing how about you use your inherited guilt to work toward a more just society? Instead of saying sorry, how about you do something? I will assume you are labeled as white Victor and you should be happy for that label because it means you won't have to work as hard to be economically solvent. Your statement is quite offensive and it struck me as racist. I know I sound harsh but it is the truth.
@josuerodriguez1981 Congress is controlled by male WASP. We may be Americans just like the European Americans but we will be treated like second class citizens because we are not part of the majority, The majority does what is best for itself, and creating equal opportunities for everyone is not what is best for the status quo!
If only our brothers and sisters knew they were freed many years ago, our mentality would be entirely different. Being a free man brings many advantages. For one, you won't owe another man anything but the respect he gives you.
They knew-- persons of African descent struggled and even rebelled openly for freedom from the moment they reached our shores--along with Indians, Irish and German indentured servants when people were unfair. Rebellion and escaping to live in the West or with Indians or North to Canada was the best they could do. Brother Malcolm and Doctor King inherited a tradition of civil struggle, the sixties was the right time for people to listen because everyone could see.

The song : "I wish I knew How It would Feel to be Free" is by Billy Taylor (jazz pianist) and made famous by Nina Simone (jazz singer) but the version here is a nice remix which also borrows from U@ "One Love".
If you like the song you really should check out the original recording (Nina Simone)
this is the best video on civil rights. im not even american let alone african-american but i think what people like Martin Luther King Jr. did is just amazing.
Civil "rights" are not the same thing as inalienable rights. Civil "rights" are contractual privileges you receive when you surrender your sovereignty to become a United States "citizen" (14th amendment corporate franchisee).
why are they not picking cotten in the field ... poor ol black people never new how good they had it in them fields ... its like "aww nice sunny day to pic cotten .. this sure is the life :D " lol
Wat the hell? You should watch it, even my home peeps suffer today. Your retarded to think like that. I mean Wat the hell? We all know How much we suffered, the black folks have there rights. I believe in everyone treated in equality, not how sunny it is in the cotton fields. Go pick cotton yourself, damn some people piss me off.

I can conceive of no greater calamity than the assimilation of the Negro into our social and political life as our equal.
