just a little note, mk 5 an awesome vechile. planning on getting one with in the next few months. but lets be a bit realistic, although quick for what they have under the hood, there is no comparo to muscle cars... and them getting smaller in your mirror, mmm, i strongly doubt it. even with your apr stage 1. small quick and nimble for its size, but i am not expecting to be outrunning no 300+ hp cars.

After APR stage1 my New numbers were: 252bhp w/225 and 265whp and a whopping 303btq! My top speed is about 147 mph and I can go 0-60 in 5.5 seconds. Now I have added my FORGE cold air intake which gives me about 15hp more and 10 more ft-lb tq! Not to mention I can get 34 mpg now (when not reving too much). Muscle cars look fast but are also very heavy; And get very little gas mileage too?! I can't beat the Shelby Mustang nor the Corvette?! But I doubt they're getting 400 miles a tankful either.

Im gettin like 390 miles a tankful, without a chip. Does the chip really help that much?

Yes, you'll get at least 400+... keep a look at your MFG display and AVG MPG while driving. The highest you'll usually see it STOCK is about 28.6 mpg!? After APR Stage 1 upgrade about 33.2 mpg on a 16 mile trip. The GTI Mark 5 doesn't actually get a chip... With APR software: It is called Direct Port Programming and has factory like driveability and precision! The tech will plug in a laptop to remap for STAGE 1 (93 octane performance). In about 20 mins. it will be done. APR is awesome!

Room for 3 in the back seats... Depending on what options you get it can run you 22K to 26K. I opted for: the legalos plaid seats that come standard, the ground effects body kit for $1200 (looks much better), DSG trans., 2-door, 18" Summer performance tires w/hufeisan alloy wheels (they are superior tyres from Germany and rated at 186 mph)! Hufheisan are the best looking of the new wheels from VW (they mean Horse hoof) and look great when you speed away from the losers in their muscle cars, HA!

thanks man getting mine in 2 or4 weeks dsg trans is the one thing im not going to get it takes the fun out of it for me i kno its like .2 sec faster but not cool i think so nd wat i ment by room was like can a 5'8 person sit comfortable in the backseat do u think well thanks man

u can do what u want but i think u should at least test drive the DSG b4 u buy anything. u CAN go in Tritronic if u wanna shift and use the paddle shifters. but the auto mode is there for the long trips and grocery getting. just my oppinion. im getting the 4door on mine cuz they are way more rare.

YEP I'll have to admit, I like to play possum with people. It's harmless enough, what I do is, I stay behind the slower cars for as long as I can take it. But when I see there is an opening with space, I hit it! I pass them before they even can react to me, and when they know I am doing it I can see them reducing in size in my rearview mirror as a distant memory,HeHe! The key is to NOT croud anyone like you want to pass, but stay off them until the right moment. My GTI now APR Stage1 w/Forge dv!

All VW, Audi, and I believe Porsche vehicles have automatic windows that operate in this way. When doors are locked insert key in the lock, turn left and hold for 10 seconds. voila... or wunderbah all windows will open! To close, turn right and all windows will close etc.
