well he isnt compelled to buy one because it doesnt have a camera at the moment and why pay for 3G if u can have any calling feature, but dont worry the ipad 2 will come with facetime and i heard Jobs made it possible to add a 2mp camera which is going to make it like 4x better the clarity and another possibility is the back camera for taking pics and recording in HD but were not sure but if he does then u will probably get flash as well

Reading is just not comfortable for the eyes, when looking at a lit screen. Also, flipping forward, or back to specific spots in the book is awkward. Don't think this will replace books and magazines any time soon..... Paper has a feel that is hard to beat.

I'm in two minds whether or not to get one of these. It's going to be either an iPad or Laptop. The upsides I can see are the brilliant touchscreen, battery life and quality of the whole system. The downside for me is the fact that some websites will load in the iPad as if you're browsing through a mobile phone (ie. dumbed down) and no Flash support. I also hate the bloated iTunes on the PC with a passion which is required to back up the system. I'll be purchasing either an iPad or Laptop soon.

I still feel like the market for this isn't that huge. Reading books with this type of screen is killer on your eyes. The Amazon Kindle has a screen way better for book reading. Sure, watching movies is great, but I can do that just fine on my iPod (and would rather have it pocket size). No reason for this size for music over the iPod. Have my cellphone for text and e-mail. Web surfing... sure. But yeah, otherwise there's really no need/use for this except for a handful of people.

It has powerpoint programs and word document creators, and you can type faster on it because of the bigger keyboard.

the e-mail is faster and easier because of the bigger screen, instead of using a crappy 4 inch display iPod/ iPhone and having to zoom in/out every 3 seconds.

You have to have BOUGHT AND PLAYED AROUND WITH and iPad before you can say ANYTHING about it. Playing with it in the apple store or anywhere doesn't count.
