  • There exist various real C64 covers of this song. Johannes Bjerregaard made one for example.

  • NOT SID

  • RIP MJ

  • YESSSS! Mario's New Groove! LOVE IT! (rescue that princess)

  • The SID in the c64 was not digital, so it did not have "bits". It was purely an analog chip that generated noise on the fly

    .

The followup computer Commodore Amiga had a true digital sound - 8 bit sampling

    .

  • @electrictroy2010 The SID is a digital chip with analog filters. Hence it's versatility.

  • I can't feel and listen C64 here but thumb for try. Do it better.

  • This is not c64!

  • A wild MICHAEL JACKSON appeared!

    *You press RUN*

    Got away without getting raped!

  • -Michael Jackson The Game-

    *INSERTS COIN*

    -1 Players

    2 Players

  • but c64 is 16-bit not 8-bit

  • @domi382 C64 utilizes a MOS6502 variant called the 6510, which is an 8-bit processor (2^8=256 possible values (open a C64 emu and type POKE53280,300 and see what happens!)) with 16 bit addressing (2^16=65536=64K)

  • Doesn't sound like the C64 SID chip

  • Rape?

  • How dare you use Reason to make chiptune! lol.. jokes,

there is an original C64 tune on the game Moonwalker on the C64, and i have the disk :P

  • lol nice

  • This is bollocks ... oh, sorry, meant to say the bollocks!

  • Where can i get a download of this please great songs. Anyone have these michael covers in 8bit hit me up big reward

  • @nlx253 what kind of reward? i still have the original song ^^

  • @shixxor: at the start it says click here for HQ.. i'm clicking, but it wont go above 360p !

  • @Paperclown hmm weird... maybe youtube changed the way they encode audio. so probably 360p is now already max audio quality. when i uploaded this video it was 480p... well i will remove the text bubble :)

  • @shixxor Search for "COMMODORE 64 SMURFEN GAME" and you can hear the REAL commodore 64 which sounds much, much better than this video

    .

  • @nlx253 use a youtube converter =D

  • @nlx253 check out my profile for the C64 version of Thriller. I already posted it as a video response to this video, but shixxor has to approve it to appear.

  • @AttilaSVK just approved it :D

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry dudes, not even close to the C64's SID. Nice try though :D

  • @senorverde09 agree

  • I choose you MJ!!

    MJ uses Moonwalk!

    It's Super Effective!!

  • it sounds like a keygen music lol

  • @CrashBandiSpyro12 Actually keygen music it's chiptune music, like this one and all the stuff heard on machines like the Commodore 64, the Nintendo NES and Game Boy, etc... :-)

  • @mima14031985 lol i actually like this song XD

  • i love this so much !!! you should make more !

  • sounds like fart, i wonder what 32bit sounds like

  • @quangluu96 It sounds like most Wiis or PS3s, but a little more distorted.

  • i love michael jackon

  • I make music composed with or using Commodore computers myself. Click my name to hear some and in stereo.

Or take a look at my alternate channel ONLYGOODCOMMIE. There I showcase some more of my own music, Commodore 64 promo material and a short video I made on C64-PC networking.

  • i cant get to the lyrics in this version

its tvvvvvvv tvvvvvvvvv something something tvvvvvvvvvv

  • Totally appreciatable. GJ!

  • nice~<3

  • Töfte ... mal wat anders

  • KinG of PoP ;)

  • Soo goood!!!

  • Wow! They should have used this for that crappy Moonwalker game.

  • This sounds like something from a fighting game, like Double Dragon or something.

  • me and my friend mamaluigirules are #1 mj fans

  • super job like the 8bit "krushel-may-be-this-is-an-akkord-sounds", very nice edit 5*****

  • This just brings it all together - 1981 MJ, Journey and an Atari 2600 8 bit worlds. Too cool!

  • This is sweet! I should make a gam then use this music

  • game*

  • sure! would be cool...

  • @SADXRULZ The smurfs. Look it up. A game of the smurfs used this song.

  • @SADXRULZ wow what programmng language do u use

  • GREAT

  • WOW.... the SID chip on C64 is amazing!

I was ZX Spectrum owner, and have read so much about it actually being like a music instrument.

If this song is the plain old SID without enhancement, then it was totally brilliant for a computer released in 1982!

  • this is not sid

  • one of the best 8bit versions of MJ I heard!

  • Very nice well done! Can i ask you what plug-ins\VST do you use in Reason for generate this 8-bit sound?

    Thanks

  • only the standard subtractor for each track

  • But my platform is steinberg and there is not a subtractor plugin so can you advise me some nice 8-bit plugin for nuendo\cubase?

  • nope sry ive never used nuendo/reason synthies

  • Nicely done! At last a real 8bit remake that is not an automatic conversion.

    Really great

  • thank you very much! it was quite a lot of work :D

  • I dont care what it is, I love it

  • NICE.

  • Reason isnt the same as a real C64...

  • obviously :)

  • do we want it to be?

  • This is class Bro' - nice one!

  • We need more of these.

  • Sounds like it has more than 3 voices. If so, it's not technically possible on a Commodore64

  • tually if you use the video output of the C64 you can have 4 synth channels for digiplayback(they will be played trough SIDs channel 0) and two SID channels and it will sound more like an amiga.

This trick was found just lately and used in" Fanta In Space "track. You can search it from youtube or download "Vicious SID" demo(includes the song) for your real C64(doesn't work in emulators).

Bass filter wasn't used in this song and it doesn't sound as cool as the real SID music.

  • but it's possible to pack on one channel more than one voice, or use accords as one sample that are recorded before.

  • a melhor musica!

    the best song!

  • rip mj!

  • this is so calming, i'm drawing something right now and it is the royal king of pain-in-the-assness

  • its amazing!!!

  • Awesome. But, isn't it a little fast?

  • yeah i speeded it up a little to make it more atari game like.

  • totally cool - this is jacko at it's best!!!
