  • Juan was a fucking douche!

  • i am happy JUan was always my favorite.

  • "HEEEY how the fuck you dooin'"

  • Why the fuck did they stay with that producer Beau Hill??!! That guy was a big, fucking douche, especially trying to bring in another guitar player...WTF??!!!!

  • Am I the only one who thinks that Robben kind of looks like Yngwie back in the 80's?

  • Nothing against Crosby, but DeMartini had that certain element to his playing like that of EVH. He definitely had the "Brown Sound".

  • @ipsofacto297 DeMartini bypassed the speaker of an old Fender Champ practice amp and plugged it in 1 of the 12" speakers of a vintage Marshall 4X12 cab for the 1st 3 LPs of Ratt in the studio to get his sound. Fender champs sound awesome. A guitarist I jammed with in the early 80s had one. They are small combos with 1- 8" in them.

  • WHAT IS A "DIMINISHED ROLL"? IS IT A HALF EATEN BROWN N SERVE?

  • Why would anybody want to get somebody else to play for warren demartini, hes a god i would never second guess his playing

  • are you insaneeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Is it me or is Juan extremely annoying? Lol

  • i agree he shittted talked robbin so much saying he was the demise, its like the guys dying from a disease give him a break ,what a douche

  • @td7474 no, juan seems to have been the smart one

  • What's the name of the song that starts around 4:18? I know I know it but I don't know wtf it is.

  • Fuck man whats that song starting at 4:18? I know I know it but I don't know what the fuck it is

  • Fuck man whats that song starting at 4:18? I know I know it but I don't know what the fuck it is

  • I LOVE Juan's moves! He was one heck of a great performer.

  • Does anyone know what concert the footage of Warren's Give It All solo is from, and where I can find it? I love it!

  • i like the point of the bass player say it is bad to say the wrong city you are in I had that happen with Motley Crue back in 1990 in the city of Murfreesboro, Tenn when they said something about glad to be in Nashville

  • i see the sponsorship of charvel guitars :)

  • It was the Heroin abuse, that started messing up Robbin's playing abilities.

  • Robin was, at his best, only a mediocre rhythm player. He was certainly no "Brad Whitford!" I saw them many times - even before they were signed. And Steven was very weak - especially live!

  • what is the name of the song beginning at 6:13

  • you got someone in to play warren dimartini's part...are you insane, classic comment

  • 1:04 pure evh

  • Juan Croucier was the most intelligent member of Ratt. He had a better grasp of reality compared to the others. BTW, he also was the only bandmate to support Robben Crosby to the very end!

  • What song is playing at 4:35 - 4:38?

    I can't remember the tittle.

Ratt was a great band... sad that the ''classic line-up'' doesn't exist anymore.

It's just not the same wihout Juan and Robbin (R.I.P).

  • @MrDunkJunk Never use Love, off Invasion

  • 7:20 nice

  • I don't see why Robbin was tripping off of his diminishing roll. As long as he was getting paid it shouldn't have mattered.

  • @danewson Agreed.Btw, he had a "diminished roll" as a guitar god...but check out the credits...NO ONE has more song credits on all of Ratt's classic albums than Mr. Crosby...he wrote the shit Warren could solo over...Robbin was Ratt....and once he was out of the band they went down hill. However, their new album is good. Regardless, Robbin was a great writer

  • @phrydoom Juan and Robbin made Ratt what it was! And it has never been the same since!

  • @phrydoom Absolutelly agree, even whem Warren is a great guitar player, clearly more skilled thet Robin Crosby, it was RC who wrote the classic Ratt song. I love guitar wizards but i always prefer a good songwritter

  • @danewson @danewson Agreed.Btw, he had a "diminished role" as a guitar god...but check out the song credits...NO ONE has more song credits on all of Ratt's classic albums than Mr. Crosby...he wrote the shit Warren could solo over...Robbin was Ratt in terms of song writing....and once he was out of the band they went down hill. However, their new album is good. Regardless, Robbin was a great writer

  • @danewson When you're a musician type it's not just about the money. Your ego swells enormously. You have huge crowds coming to see you, and in that case you want to be the center of attention, especially if you were the founding member and this young prodigy comes along and starts taking your spotlight. Without that spotlight, deep in your heart you know you're nobody. When you're a rockstar, it's about ego more than money, especially when you're bending your mind with drugs and booze...

  • @danewson You wouldn't understand if "that" is not your life.

  • Respond to this video... Beau Hill sucked. He produced them because he could put out a good enough product @ a decent cost.

  • @danewson your a fucking idiot if you ever played an instrument you would understand

  • poor robbin, that band was a cluster fuck, juan and bobby to an extant tried to take care of him, it wsa a brotherhood until someone just fucks it up, like pantera and like pantera, theres an unfair casualty, RIP Robbin and Dime to guitar gods up their in heaven

  • i wonder how many women who ever slept with steve pearcy look back at this and cringe...

  • @ultimatemegadeath I agree. Pearcy is one ugly dude. Hed make a freight train take a dirt road. Plus all the STDs that were passed around. Pearcy wouldve never got as much "tail" as he calls it, if he hadnt been a rock "star". PERIOD

  • @ultimatemegadeath

    36 of them

  • @ultimatemegadeath dude stephen pearcys a badass mutherfuker!!:) i still love the guy

  • @ultimatemegadeath you jealous brah?

  • THIS is the difference between a flash in the pan band and a true legendary band, like Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band. They burned up, too much is just too fuckn MUCH!

  • nice ending, "I'm F@#$ing writing songs, I can't write songs around people telling me what to write." lol I'm sure he was doing more than writing songs.

  • Whats the song at 8:03?

  • The phrase "Why don't we chill out the partying and do things in the appropriate manner?.......... must never, ever be uttered again by any rock band. Maybe Juan isn't familiar with the genre. " Appropriate Manner." Really?

  • This shit is hilarious.

  • blotzer had THE drum sound

  • @viktorhat invasion very glossy and glam? naw glossy and glam is more like poison and bon jovi

  • @motleycrue24 Agreed.

  • @motleycrue24 nothing wrong with that though ha ha ha

  • @motleycrue24

The E.P., Cellar, and Dancing were all heavier than Invasion; except for You're in Love and Lay it Down. Got me on the Line was their worst song ever. It sounds like Britney Spears wanted to sound "hardcore." Nobody hangs up on Britney!

  • @CymaticSand even know got me on the line wasent there better tracks i have no clue where britney spears has any comparison with the song maybe cause i dont listen to that crap

  • @viktorhat i agree its my favorite album by Ratt next to Out Of The Cellar and Reach For The Sky

  • @viktorhat, Ratt were bigger in Japan than they were in America.

Also, their fifth album Detonator was a major success in Indonesia, Columbia, Malaysia, Singapore, Peru and the Philippines.

  • Whats the name of the song at 4:35 , sounds sick.

  • @erusso3 it is Never Use Love from the Invasion Of Your Privacy album

  • @defleppard741 Awesome, thanks man.

  • @erusso3 anytime bro its an awesome song

  • I totally know.. This is so sad.

  • Dancing under cover was a good album. But yeah it could have used a little more work and more time it problably would have been a even a better album if it woundnt have been for their dick head for a producer Beau Hill. And Invasion of your privacy i would agree was a little over produced it should have been more rawer like Out of the cellar! Beau Hill sucks!

  • @timewarped2the80s, Dancing Undercover suffered because their manager placed a deposit on the studio thus there was a short deadline. Beau wanted them out of the studio so early, each day, so he could work with his girlfriend Fiona (using Ratt's money) hence why Mike Stone was hired to produce Reach.

Stephen referred to Beau as Mr. Polish.

Ratt really needed a strong hand like Bob Rock (Motley Crue, Metallica) or Bruce Fairbairn (Aerosmith, AC/DC) to do justice to their sonic trademarks.

  • Warren was better than Robbin hands down. I would be happy to play second best to Warren.

  • @danewson, true but I think Rob is still one of the best guitarists from the scene.

The styles of groove metal and sludge metal (hardcore punk mixed with Black Sabbath's doom metal sound) were pioneered by him when he recorded the '83 EP.

As Juan once said, Rob had the potential to be just as good as Warren and even better if it wasn't for him being hooked on drugs as well as alcohol.

Rob's creativity took a beating along with Stephen's voice (he became an extreme alcoholic in the mid '80s).

  • @danewson

Warren was just hungrier for it than Robbin.

Robbin could have had it too if he would have stayed away from the junk.

  • I still say IOYP was the best of the best.

  • Damn, I honestly can't believe the story of this band.

  • @logang95 watch motley crue's behind the music.

  • @logang95, if you think this is shocking then you should read Bobby's book or wait for Stephen's book RaTTails.

Juan once said on his message board that the making of "Reach for the Sky" was so lurid (think Motley Crue-esque decadence and Led Zeppelin-type debauchery) that he didn't want to be candid so as to not portray all the band members in a demeaning (or degrading) light.

Robbin said so much cocaine was being used during the making of Reach that it was comically surreal.

  • what's the song at 6:14?? i NEED to know : D

  • @chloewalker8089 "Give it All", from their '85 album "Invasion of Your Privacy".

  • @chloewalker8089 One of the oft overlooked gems from RATT!

  • @chloewalker8089 It's not give it all. I just bought the album,,,,,,,again. On c.d. this time. I don't know what song it is though. Would like to know too.

  • Hazel, where are you?

  • sounds like Juan was the only guy sober and had his shit together at all times, Kudos to him for wanting to give the fans the best show he could!

  • @Jasent76, if the band could be compared to The Simpsons then Juan is Lisa because he was the voice of reason and sanity.

  • hey how the fuck you doin lol

  • juan was such a dork but a good bass player

  • 7:25

    :'(:'(

  • I think Juan was a little different for the band, killer bass player, who kept it lively. He held Warren in high regard regarding the choice by Beau Hill to bring in a different guitar player insread of Warren. What was Beau Hill thinking? Warren is an awesome guitar player. My favorite part of this segment is where Juans bass comes loose and sails off over the drum kit into the arena... and Warren says "It was like someone picked up the building and dropped it down" Classic Juan moment!!!

  • @dplanefilms I think Juan had a lot of respect for all of the members of Ratt. But after a while Stephen seemed not only to be disrespectful to Juan and also very annoying!

  • @thepaddywagonishere, Juan once referred to Stephen as a lazy-drunk boy.

  • @JosephKuby Yeah I saw that on Juan's facebook. I have made some comments on there myself.

  • @dplanefilms, Juan was crucial for Ratt's distinctive sound. Not only did he bring a lot of melodies to the band but his influences are so different from most hard rock and metal bassists.

He was into R&B and soul - Dancing Undercover is where he reigned supreme. That album did for Ratt what Hot Space did for Queen. It's almost a funk metal album.

  • @JosephKuby

You got it. I love Juans bass playing. I commented earlier regarding his playing and like his technique. All of the original members kicked some serious ass. Ratt n' Roll!!!

  • The most kick as part of the vid is warren plaing at 6:30. I can watch that over and over. Thats how you should look and play.

  • @cody10184 Warren DeMartini is a bad ass on guitar ... and a very humble guy, which makes him even more cool. I had the privilege of visiting with him one on one for about an hour and a half back in 2001, and I will say that he's one of the friendliest and sincerest rock stars I've ever met.

  • @GuitarPlayer524 Warren is definetely one of the guitar players i would like to meet. I met George Lynch, Joe Satriani, Ozz Fox, and Michael Wilton. Eddie Van Halen, Yngwie and Steve Vai are other guitar players that i would like to meet. But Warren is definetely one of my absolute top favorites. I Sometimes stay up all night playing Dokken and Ratt stuff on the guitar. I cant get enough. Keep rockin

  • Im gonna get me sum tail, lol

  • what song is it ?? 6:10 - 6:20 ??

  • @brn2rock "Give it All", from their '85 album "Invasion of Your Privacy".

  • The song is Give It All from the album Invasion of Your Privacy. Great!

  • @luccid78 yea i wish it was more famous! you cant even find an album version of it on youtube!! it's amazing and needs more respect lol

  • @beatitbuzzkill It was on here a couple months ago, I thought. I guess it was removed.

  • I once punched my drummer in the face during a recording session,in Spokane's Amplified WAX studio, over him not being able to play wile on junk, and then we replaced him.

  • @brucekirk89 LOL Cool story. I think alot of violence occurs in the passionate forum of bands. Motley Crue, Metallica, Megadeth ALL have histories of violence. But it's a violence without malice, IMO.

  • maybe you mistook Chris Holmes for Michael Jackson ?

  • Chris Holmes isn't dead...

  • You're right, he's not. daidi made a mistake there.

  • whats the song that starts at 6:01

  • "Give it All" from "Invasion of Your Privacy", IMO their best album.

  • Agreed

  • Who's the gorgeous babe on that album cover? Is it Tawny Kitaen again?

  • I forget her name, but she, according to Bobby the last time he heard, she had gone on the marry some big oil man from Texas or something.

  • No, it's Marienne Gravette, Playmate of the Year, 1983

  • @SpikeMichaels, is that her name? I just remember an interview with Bobby--back when Pearcy wasn't in the band--and he said she had gone on to marry some loaded oil Texan.

  • Marianne Gravatte....i think her sister is Dee Snider's wife

  • You brought someone else in, to play Warren De Martini's parts! Are you insane?

  • I know, what a wild concept, the guy must of been on drugs to suggest that. LOL

  • If warren couldnt play the riff in the first place, than how could anyone else?

  • @JECKNAM And my guess it would be Reb Beach playing Warren's part.

  • @DefLeppardVanHalen - I think it may have been George Lynch.

  • @dplanefilms No. Dokken never worked with Beau Hill.

  • @DefLeppardVanHalen No, it wouldn't be Reb Beach he didn't work with him until Twisted Sister, Love is for Suckers. It would have most likely been during the Alice Cooper era. I'm thinking Cane Roberts.

  • @dplanefilms Actually, it was before Twisted Sister, as Beau first worked with Beau, while with Fiona.

  • @JECKNAM , i was going to say- shoot! warren could actually play! sorry robin.

  • I'm in Canada and this music is still popular.

  • Smart country. :)

  • LOL Thx.

  • Sad to see what happened to Robbin.

  • i know. Aient it terrible?

  • just to throw it out there most rhythm guitarist of the time died....Chris Holmes of W.A.S.P., Steve Manyard Clark of def Leppard, and Robbin Crosby of RATT....3 of my fav bands....

  • Daidi0121, I like your point: Def Lep were never the same once their main riff writer died, Steve Clark--nor were/are Ratt.

  • Yea and you forgot about Chris....He was the riff maker for W.A.S.P. They weren't they same after he died. D=

  • FYI Chris Holmes is not dead. He just recorded a track for the new Liberty and Justice Compilation.

  • @phrydoom, speaking of Def/Ratt comparisons, Adrenalize was to Def what Detonator was to Ratt.

Even the artwork is similar (a blue orb of energy) and both albums were criticized for being too pop.

  • You'd think that being one of your favorite guitarists you'd know if he was dead or not. Chris Holmes is alive and well and on the verge of a come back to the music world.

  • Actually I got him confused with some one else. I thought he was the guy who died in a swimming pool. Sorry. I'm new to this music.

  • chris holmes is alive
