I am the father of a former marine after 8 years he was a marine comm guy just like me but I was a Navy Radioman, but in the fleet. his grandfather who is gone was a navy radioman during WWII. But he came thru marine boot camp in 2002 totally different. but he made it.

Returning British soldiers complain that US forces, through 'friendly fire' incidents are at least as dangerous at the Taliban.

A Marine is a Soldier, but that is not their title, that is their profession. Army guys, you are soldiers, but you have different duties. @adrozemog Army Rangers are special forces, so it is not fair to compare them to a Marine. however Recon Marines are typically compared to Rangers/Berets and Navy SEALS. so that would be a fair comparison. and yes technically we are "soldiers" but its a brotherhood thing. its what sets us out, we do not want to be compared to Army soldiers so we are a Marines. we are better than them. Yes its called the Marine Corp but in boot you are working for the title MARINE so after we earn it we keep it

What's wrong with saying that a Marine is a certain type of soldier, and an army soldier is another type? Are you not a soldier? You do combat as part of a military force: you are a soldier. The reason that people say Marines are better is because their Basic Training is tougher. They are a more specialized force and their standards are tougher. No I'm not saying that the Army isn't good, or that they're not needed. In fact the Army does do more, because they have more to give.

Respond to this video... Cont. world. If you look at the Basic Training standards for all the militaries in the world you'll find that you're about average. Canada's training standards are that of the Marines, and so are the British. You'll find that the 'America has the greatest military in the world' steriotype is blown quite out of proportions.
