Kitty is in The Peter Serafinowicz Show! I remember seeing bits of this film when I was 12 and thinking that it was horrific - 10 years on and I still think the same
Who the heck was Anne-Marie Duff's agent getting her two Magdalene films in 2002? Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for all the stories but it seems a strange career choice
I saw this many moons ago and I have been reading books on the Magdalene Laundries ever since. It's such a tragic story, what those poor women went through, and through no fault of their own, was disgusting.
I hope one day every woman who suffered at the hands of the nuns, priests and everyone else who covered up the abuse, finds the justice they deserve :'(
Thank you for posting this. I have not seen another movie other than reading books. Do they have a documentary from children that know they are born to Magdalens and stolen? I cannot they let these girls work in these chemicals and conditions while pregnant. That is just hte tip of the iceburg though. One girl was put there very young after orphanage due to being raped. her dad blamed her and sent her away. atrocious...
@CelticKisses i own that one...i have seen it many times, this one however is new to me. i have seen so many stories and all of the movies are gribbing...this, the Magdalene Sisters, Song for a Raggy Boy...and yet as powerful as they are, they don't show but a snippet into the hell these poor children and women lived...
It is also a movie on here just do a search...it is a movie with Aiden Quinn about the true story of a teacher who came and made change to an all boys industrial school. It is pretty horrific.
@lumasmel In the other movie about this, Magdalene Sisters, the character Margareth, played by Anne-Marie Duff too, was raped by her cousin... but she didn't really get pregnant.
this was the best ever documentary about the horrendous sufferings inflicted by irish nuns...far better than the wonderfujl film the magdalene sisters...thank you so much for uploading it - everyone who wants to convert to roman catholicism should see this before they do so!
@pianoenthusiast11 I'm a Roman Catholic...I don;t watch this and regret anything about my religion. I'm proud of it....Awesome movie tho...Tina Kellegher played Sister Bernadette AMAZINGLY....she is a Villain and a half!!
@Cinderaly001 Religions are not things to be proud of, especially not this one! I was married to one, her uncles were p,s, one liked boys, one girls(it was hushed up, as is the catholic way), fortunately if there is a hell , they are there. She left the children and I for ,what police and social services say ,is one!
By the way, catholocism came into being, 400 years after Jesu. How can it be Christian These nuns would have run concentration camps, if they had been german in the 40,s
@raystopher Well I am so keep it to urself!!! and dont talk to me about my religion OK. Not all catholics go around beating up pregnant women...Some of us actually care about others!! Ur only basing it on a stereotype from a bunch of Irish nuns. What they did was wrong but it doesnt mean all of us should be looked upon as bad >:( now Im going to spend my time wisely not replying to people who are trying to start pointless arguments!!!!

@lumasmel there was a guy who was watching her drive away in the opening. I think it might have been him? Maybe?
