I first heard this on NPR in the early eighties; if memory serves me right,the first few bars was used as an interlude between segments on "All Things Considered",and it was vaguely reminiscent for the theme music for ATC's Ian Sholaes segments w/Duck's Breath alum Merle Kessler.

This song saved my life in 1983. I heard it on the radio when I was 15, living in a small town and in a very unhappy home. When I heard it I said, If there are people out there who can make music like this and people who listen to it, then someday I will find them and I won't be alone anymore. That's exactly what happened. David Byrne changed my life and this song remains my favorite of all time.
