  • Hey Hey easy on the brainwashed common folk

  • One of the best multi part episodes of atheist experience i have ever seen. Good show.

  • Even if they did find the ARK...Can you imagine the size that thing would be. It would be plastered on every news program and the only way you could see the whole thing is through a helicopter view. I swear these dilusional christians would accept a surfaced sail boat for an ARK.

  • 1:52 the greatest atheist experience part ever LOL. I love this show

  • The guy on the left has an awesome shirt.

  • Wow, how did that guy figure out how to use a telephone?

  • Shows done!

  • yeah. that mount sinai is actually a very weak theory. it could just very well have been written in on a basis of familiarity. anyone can claim a name

    'where is this mountain'

'um.......right there' *points* 'yes, that is the mountain we call sinai and it was ALWAYS there and not an arbitrary mountain we just now identified as the mountain we claimed existed'

  • @infernalone666 LMAO hahahahahahahahaha, zomg,, stop it hahah stop oh boy

    thats hilarious

  • @zdunichme

yeah. that really said a lot. such an intense argument. if you got something to say about it, then I suggest you say it - assuming you can

  • @zdunichme

plus, did you read that with a blindfold on? what part of 'anyone can claim a name' did you not catch? the actual mount sinai on the gaze strip existed long before moses was there and is still there now, long after. anyone can claim he was at a certain place when there is no evidence and could easily pick any place.

that's like saying the egyptian gods exist because the pyramids exist.

let's face it, your comment was to cover up your inability to respond. get lost

  • @infernalone666 HUh? First of all i agree with you second i was laughing at the obviously comical thing in your comment... relax mang

  • @zdunichme

what? really? if that is the case, then I apologize. most people who give the 'LOL response' are trolls, and I deal with too many of them.

if you are serious, then it's my error and take a laugh at what I would say to a troll

  • @infernalone666 oh i did lol, i was mega confused also until i came and saw what i had originally responded too

  • How the hell did I get here from Star Wars?

  • @GymMasterAlex because the people who call in are from a galaxy far far away?

  • @GymMasterAlex "How the hell did I get here from Star Wars?"

Because Matt Dillahunty and Jeff Dee are like atheist Jedi knights, except instead of the 'force' they use reason and logic, much more powerful.

  • Are these theists truly unaware that the Biblical Genesis is a plagiarized copy of the Sumerian Story of Creation, written centuries previously? If the universe was created by a god folks, it wasn't yours.

  • @Inclousid Well most of christianity is a plagiarism of something, just look at the Egyptian god Horus and compare his story to that of Jesus.

  • The dude on the left has really small hands.

  • Nobody actually knows where Mt. Sinai is. BUT, the New Testament gives a better indication as to where it is than the mountain that they label as Sinai in the present. The Sinai Penninsula has no volcanos, yet it's described to a tee as a volcano in the Old Testament. The New Testament says that Sinai is in Arabia, which DOES have volcanic activity.

  • its a typo "angry" come on its not that hard to see past it, considering the sentance it was used in and the "E" and "R" are next to eachother....... ;)

  • How in the 9 Divines do these guys do it?

I would of banged myself unconcious by now after dealing with mind-numbing logic like that!

    It's like their robots!

  • @PurpleStorm8 *whispers* I think they are

  • Hey, I liked that editing thing :).

  • I'm a grad student studying ecology, and the thought of any of the classes I have taken being taught from a creationists point of view is the funniest and most ridiculous thing I could ever imagine.

  • "They've found the Ark 40 times now...

...And none of them have actually found the Ark."

    LMAO

  • @SeedsOfHatred They've found the Golden Arches thousands of times, but that doesn't mean McDonald's food is good for you. ;]

  • @JaytheOstrich That's actually a pretty good analogy right there.

  • This dude is hilarious. In a sad way.

  • If we teach one thing in the science classes of our schools going forward, it must be the definition and concept of what sufficient evidence is. And because so many of these Christians don't take science classes, we better teach it in our history and English classes as well.

  • Stephan (caller) , you truly are lost.

  • That railroad tie story is awesome.

  • Buddhism is not a religion according to what the word actually means, Matt shouldn't talk about it as if it was /:

  • @xChioxOwenSx But there are certain supernatural beliefs that go along with Buddhism. It is a structure of beliefs. So in a loose sense, I think it qualifies as a religion. But I've heard Matt acknowledge many times that it's different, that Buddhists don't necessarily have any gods, and that it can be regarded as not a religion.

  • @xChioxOwenSx Religion -- according to the dictionary -- is a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects. Buddhism most certainly qualifies as a religion.

  • @xChioxOwenSx - Some modern day buddhism acctually is a religion due to the fact that some people didn't listen when Buddah clearly stated that he was not God but some sects still believe that he was.

  • that is asinine! haha,

  • New York exists, thus, Spider-Man does too.

  • Lol, they've found the Ark about 40 times now

  • There is no "Mt. Sinai". There is a hill that some Christians claim is Mt. Sinai.

  • @greyeyed123 Thats true. The Mount Sinai written about in the Bible has never been found. Probably because it was never there in the first place.

  • @LondonIrishRover Yeah, but as soon as you say something like this, the lack of evidence then becomes evidence, lol. They win either way.

It's just such a blatant rip off (or commonly held notion) that gods live up in the sky, and if you climb up high places you can see them, talk to them, etc. The same kind of cosmological notions that said the earth was flat, with a dome over it; that you could see the whole world from a tree top; or that gods were throwing lightning down.

  • "The volcano is charred. I don't know how it got charred.

    Therefore, God."

I honestly do not understand how some people can be so unbelievably idiotic...

  • I love it when Jeff gets angry.

  • have no proove for your religion? Teriaki sauce!

  • @TheAtheistExperience The word is "asinine"...

    Love the show btw.

  • Where have all my right socks gone! Now have twice as many left socks. Damn it, this god dude struck again!

  • @GrayLotus He does that to you too? I guess he has two right feet or something.

  • @Jesses001 IT'S A MIRACLE! HE HAST TURNED MY RIGHT SOCKS TO LEFT SOCKS! (now I have half as many)

  • A lot of people seem to think that Matt is too harsh on these people, but honestly, if I were in his position, I would not be nearly as patient. I would simply say that this guy's a lost cause and move on. Kudos to Matt.

  • Thumbs up for the Serenity shirt.

  • "How else can you explain it?" god ! the last refuge for a human with no answers.

  • @TheAtheistExperience asinine*

  • @TheAtheistExperience is it not asinine? ;)

  • That surely reminds me of all the fail arguments I've heard from creationists... and how they avoid answering altogether.

  • 'many of them, including excavation dates...'

ever notice how when talking about their beliefs, some christians 'temporarily' develop NPD?

  • Ass9

  • That was rape lol.

  • London exists. Therefore, Sherlock Holmes was real. I have seen London on TV.

  • @InternetDarkLord There's also talk of England in the tales of King Arthur, that proves that there's a magical lake with a magical sword in it somewhere in southern England.

  • @Squiglypig well there was a magical sword, it's mine now..

  • @InternetDarkLord Come on dude, London is just a hoax.

  • @weeryan2008 British food was created to test our faith.

  • @InternetDarkLord well now i feel stupid i thought that the sherlock holmes books were based on a real detective

  • Y'all really get some dumb ass callers.

  • I'm not sure, but I don't think the guy was getting it. lol

  • @TheAtheistExperience Or even Asinine. It is derived from the Latin word Asinus, which means ass (the horse variety, not the American rear end).

  • explanations by retarded christians i had when im in my adolescent days up to now, in a country with 99 percent christians, i am always ganged up in debates with these deluded morons, its hopeless really..blame the spaniards for introducing to our ancestors the catholic religion..

  • @ARAFELI It's Assinine.

  • I like how Matt is calm (even when he says batsh*** crazy). Jeff is just too vitriolic and smug for my tastes. But they both are such a credit to the atheist movement. I myself came from a non-denominational christian background (read: fervent and fanatical), only to figure out many years later that it was a bunch of nonsense, so I appreciate their perspectives very much.

  • "How can you explain Mount Sinai being charred?" How about, it's a fucking Volcano!

  • @Kailoa36 Mount Sinai isn't a volcano...LOL

  • @Kailoa36 ooh slow down man you might need science to expain that one to them. otherwise its just an angey good shaking his boomstick ;)

  • @ubernagash No, they need science to prove they even know which mountain in Arabia is Sinai. And, much the rock contained on the mountain claimed as Sinai is volcanic rock. Finally, what's an angey?

  • 1:50 That's... nice.

  • the way that you've made the Part 1, 2, 3 system thingy is quite nice.

Thank you for putting the effort in =) =)

    <3

    no homo

  • 9 morons. sorry.

  • Great show, typical theist.

Atheism might have a new meaning, someone who teaches creationists, science, logic. and language.

Creationists should be sent back to school, no church unless you pass science first, make it a licence for stupidity.

  • believers are the best evidence we evolved

  • Caller is evidence for hell. I have to live in this hell with these retarded apes

  • I watched a video where Gentry claimed we are at the center of the universe because everything looks the same in all directions. Is it just me, or is it logical to think such words could never be spoken by an intelligently educated scientist?

  • In Gentry’s book he shows granite samples that have haloes produced by “short-lived” decayed radioactive isotopes. What’s curious about several slides is how all the haloes on the slides are the same size. This has only two explanations. Either Gentry got very lucky, more than once, and sliced the granite just right where all haloes were cut exactly through the same offset from their center, or the slides were fabricated. What is more likely?

  • I read Gentry’s book and seen a video he appeared in. The video showed coal with “short-lived” radio-decay OVAL-SHAPED haloes. He demonstrated how [dry] coal shatters when squished. Thus the coal samples must have been buried, haloed, and then squished before turning to coal, proving coal was created recently. But, Gentry forgot he quotes an expert in his book stating “in the ground, coal remains malleable”. His own book contradicts his video claim that coal is no evidence of an old earth.

  • I know somewhere out there someone owns a pot of gold. Leprechauns don't exist. I'm sure you can find a big wooden club if you wanted to. Trolls don't exist.... offline..... It takes time for 1 to get to 10 when it comes to scientific solutions, but very easy, if you skip a step or two, for 10 to get to 1.

  • @skywize Every moron like this makes my opinion of the Christian community as a whole plummet like their IQ and genepool.

  • I can explain that two ways. 1. Successive lightening strikes could have fried it, or 2. People could have gone up there to offer sacrifices, and the fires just got out of control. Anyone else have a possibility?

  • @Jonstern1983

Volcano. #1 rated comment up there.

  • @dhx84 Huh, I don't know why I didn't think of that. I guess I should study geology more often.

  • @Jonstern1983

It's cool. My knowledge of geology is crap too.

  • I agree with the caller, if Mt. Sinai is in the state that it's in because of some event that happened in the bible, then that part of the bible is true. Then again, if Mt. Sinai is in the state it's in because of erosion, tectonic plate movement, etc, then that story isn't true. I'm leaning towards the natural explanation.

  • If you aren't an atheist when you start listening to these callers, you quickly become a fervent one just to disassociate yourself from their insanity.

  • "Matt Sinai" looks like some kind of weird Sphinx. :)

  • Mount Sinai is 100%, indisputable, unassailable proof of Zeus's existence. Prove me wrong, pinheads!

  • @DeusExAstra nonsense! it was clearly shaped that way because of the flying spaghetti monster!

  • Wow. This guy got into college?

  • @sclem2007 art major i bet

  • Sorry but science isn't a democracy and we don't give all ideas equal weight. Unless you can support your claim with evidence then it is only a hypothesis and will not be taken as fact. That is not to say hypothesis are not important, they are since they are a starting point but most are proven to be false, so hypothesis are not accepted as facts. I think the best description I've heard is science is a tyranny and the tyrants name is evidence.

  • @vnorthru

To make it worse many things laymen call "theory" are not even on the level of a hypothesis. Religious based ideas are not qualified to even be called hypothesis. Where is the predictive part of it for instance. Religious claims are "x is because.. x is.."

Hence why Creationism/ID never really done much. There is reason why these "creation scientists" do not publish stuff. Because.. they don't do research. If they did they would have to shoot their own idea.

  • @masticina Oh I know, but I sometimes for sake of argument will be a little loose with the definition of hypothesis since most do not even comprehend what a hypothesis entails (I thought it was suppose to be grade school science but I guess not). It is sad since any of my hypothesis I come up with do have a prediction, and even those have a majority wrong when tested. And then creationist/IDers wonder why even if I grant their idea a hypothesis status it doesn't deserve I don't take it as fact.

  • @vnorthru

Yup I am not a mechanic so if my car breaks down at most I can make a guestimate what is wrong. I leave fixing to someone who has some training for that.

And just to think that you can get.. yes "religious" doctorates.. seriously that only tells that you have studied and have gotten a certain level of knowledge in what some books say.

  • @masticina It actually annoys me when you get creationist/IDers complaining that scientist are not being fair and giving their bs equal weight. I am a scientist and one of the first things I learned when I started in research, just how hard it really is and how much work goes into producing the work you see in the textbooks (they only make it look easy). They want all other scientist to have to go through the grueling process of peer review but they should be given a pass? Who's being unfair?

  • @vnorthru

Science is having the legs of the chair you are sitting on sawed off. It is a very admirable thing that people walk the path of science. The system is build to kick you down... but that is how you get facts.

  • @masticina Science does take patience and you need to accept you don't know everything and your not always right, I'll be the first to admit that I don't know everything and I'm not always right. It can be frustrating when you things don;t work for the umpteenth time, somedays you are so frustrated you need to take a break, but you need to keep going, and it's not always easy to do and it's the part of science most people don't hear about. It's the part not included in the textbooks.

  • @masticina I'm the same with cars, I can only guestimate and so I rely on mechanics that know much more about cars I do. For the most part people trust people that are considered experts on the subject or problem they're having but for some reason when it comes to anything that may clash with their predetermined views they think the scientist (i.e. the experts in this field) are wrong and someone that has no real understanding id right. It makes no sense to me.

  • @masticina I remember an option article a few years ago titled something like "The stupidity of science" and the title at first confused me but made sense after reading it. The author discussed about how an old colleague that left science did so because they were tired of feeling stupid. This of course came from the fact we look at stuff where no one knows the answer and we prove our own hypothesis wrong a lot, and he came to the conclusion that those that stay in science accept being "stupid"

  • 1:50 LOL! :-D

  • Stephan is a classic example of leading the evidence instead of allowing the evidence to lead you. He seems like a decent guy and all, but he's just clueless.

  • God burned Mount Sinai? If he wanted to leave an unequivocal mark he should have burnt his name on it in HUGE letters - in every possible language (including ones that don't exist yet).

Or he can just show his frigging face for a change - up to him.

  • facepalm

  • 1:52 "Matt Sinai" , Genius.

  • lol at "Matt Sinai"

  • I feel kinda bad for Stephen. He got completely destroyed. Someone is gonna be crying themselves to sleep tonight.

  • Asinine - my favorite word forever.

  • stephan just sounded as stupid as his arguments.. plainly stupid..

  • @devilmosh Yeah he had that nigger's accent, just grates against your teeth, huh?

  • @ DonMezzo, shockofgod is a very interesting character indeed. He wants to refute atheism without proving a God which seems backwards, perhaps if looked critically at his bible the way he critically looks at Matt and the show he'd see some interesting things.

  • @robtron2

    Um...dude, shockofgod is a troll.

  • Groan... I just saw the start of 'shockofgod's video in which he claims he challenged you guys to "provide evidence that atheism is accurate and correct". Exactly the sort of stupid thinking and "challenge" that infuriates me. The onus of proof is not on atheists, but rather on the believers.

  • Who the hell can reasonably dislike these videos?!

  • @evergreen9375 Bible thumping morons.

  • @evergreen9375 Reasonably, no one.

  • @evergreen9375 Douche bags.

  • @evergreen9375 Christians.

  • @evergreen9375 Creationist, muslims, orthodox jews, christians, catholics, young-earthers, geo-centrists, fundimentalists.

    Take your pick.

  • Creationists don't get what they are suggesting. It just seems to whoosh over their heads. Just like was said on this call, if creationism is allowed to be taught, so should astrology, divining rods, ghost ectoplasm theory, elf culture, abominable snowman dental courses, gummi bear color transformative healing and acupuncture. You can't teach something as real and substantive unless it is real and substantive in some way. I know they find that insulting, but it's apt.

  • @rrpostalagain: Music to my ears, well said! I'd take the gummi bear course just to eat them, though.

  • they spent way too much time on this caller. he basically just kept repeating what other people told him and that's not even close to a good way to have a discussion.

  • god I am sick of this special pleading crap, just because a group has an alternative view on a subject then they automatically have the same rights to teach it in schools.

  • "creationism has such... a hard time... finding it's whey" lol Pedro is that you?

  • wow, I would love to post my response.... why I am I getting errors??

  • Serenity T-shirt!

  • Thumbs up for Matt Sinai

  • @jshowa2 Is that so true nowadays? Maybe in the past, but with the advent of the internet, college isn't the only place where this happens.

Even without the internet, there were places called libraries where you could read books that have this kind of this rational thinking and evidence that you speak of.

Oh and thanks for the insult.

  • kinda shows that college ain't so special

  • @holytiamat777 Have You ever attended college ? Many people have become successful without a college education. I agree the caller isn't an academic scholar. However it's foolish to degrade the value of a college education because of 1 student.

  • @tranquility4all I'm about to start my internship (it's the last "course" I have to take), after that, I'll have my B.Sci. degree. Almost every class I took was based around textbooks and/or peer reviewed journals/articles. If I wanted to learn about the subject matter, reading those would have been sufficient. The classroom part was nice, but completely unnecessary.

  • @holytiamat777 Many students want & need to ask Questions. The Educational System is designed to help students. Speaking to Instructors with a degree in a particular area of study is beneficial for many students. Are You telling me You never asked Questions in the classroom ?

  • @tranquility4all Sometimes misconceptions came up, but they were mostly resolved by reading through the text further/ looking for information through other sources. Sometimes I would ask questions, and I think it's nice to have an instructor around to clear things up. That said, I still wouldn't say it was necessary or worth the money especially when most answers could be found elsewhere for almost no cost (although it would take more effort).

  • Comment removed

  • @holytiamat777 I'm guessing You think the caller is a Student who desperately needs to ask Questions of his Teachers. Our education system should be designed to help all students not just exceptional ones. Do You think this student could ever attain a degree in any Scientific Field if he were to complete a home study course ?

  • @tranquility4all (Almost forgot about this one) I think this guy's problem is that he needs to actually pick up a damn book, period. Hopefully this caller can learn from this painful experience and make the effort to find the information on his own and make sure his information is objectively correct. Yes, help is nice, but sometimes that option isn't always there. Although since he goes to college, he'll have the opportunity to ask around. (continued)...

  • @holytiamat777 Teachers can be more than supplemental. Many Teachers are Mentors & many students can benefit from a Teacher who inspires students to research beyond what is presented to them. The caller has the opportunity to ask around. The problem appears He doesn't. He is settled in his comfort zone & doesn't want to rock his boat. He prefers organized error to complex truth.

  • @tranquility4all Never in my life have I met an inspirational teacher. If someone doesn't want to look for knowledge, then that's their problem. Information is easily available. People have no excuse not to look. Teachers are a crutch for people who lack discipline and drive.

  • @holytiamat777 Maybe You have never met a teacher who inspired You. However many students have been instructed by teachers who inspire them. Yes Knowledge & information are readily available. Your assertion that Teachers are a crutch for students who lack discipline is nothing more than a blanket indictment on the overwhelming majority of students around the World. Are You telling me You never benefitted from a teacher's expertise ?

  • @tranquility4all As I've said before, I have benefited. However, I've found it much more beneficial to find information on my own and teach myself. If someone has the drive to learn, they'll find a way to learn. Also like I've said before, teachers are only supplemental at best and therefore non-essential. If there's no internal drive, then nothing will happen. Yeah, a teacher can inspire, but non-teachers can inspire as well (non-teacher inspiration also costs less money).

  • @holytiamat777 You can have more determination than anyone. It doesn't guarantee success or that You will learn. Yes You can be mentored by many people. Your assertion that teachers only supplemental at best is Questionable because the overwhelming majority of students have benefitted from teachers & mentors. Investments in education should always be evaluated. Some teachers should be terminated. Unfortunately cuts in Education discourage many qualified teachers from their profession.

  • @holytiamat777 Most people can't do that. For them we need teachers.

  • @tranquility4all (continued) I think that after getting proved wrong enough times, he'll develop the desire to make sure his information is correct and in the process become a rational adult. If this student wants to attain an official paper degree in a scientific field, then he'll have to go college. However, he can become very knowledgeable of the subject matter without college and be prepared to pass the tests if he made the effort to actually learn the material.

  • @holytiamat777 He needs to learn how to engage in Critical Thinking & would benefit from a formal education. He needs instructors to continually tell him to shed his belief system & to ask Questions & research claims. He may not be a lost cause but He has a long way to go. He seems to be indoctrinated & accepts religious dogma without Question. A good education can inspire people to become self reliant & engage in research instead of hanging on to religious dogma.

  • Comment removed

  • @tranquility4all I don't think this guy is hopeless or anything. I think he can become smarter and more rational if he put in the effort to verify his claims. If he doesn't, then that's his fault for not trying hard enough. Teachers are nice, but only supplementary at best (and for the most part nonessential imo). I think in order to truly better oneself, the desire has to come from within.

  • @holytiamat777 whoops I meant desire/effort

  • @holytiamat777 People have to make a concentrated effort if they want to expand their base of knowledge. A degree is important but not necessary in research if a person knows how to support Hypothesis thru the Scientific Method. I'm not certain all Scientific Theories were established by people with degrees. The caller needs plenty of help. His lacks understanding of what is required to support claims. He is more comfortable believing than Questioning.

  • Comment removed

  • @holytiamat777 Teachers are for the most part nonessential?

If every teacher and professor retired tomorrow and became a golfer, movie stunt person, or dog catcher instead, society's knowledge base wouldn't take a hit and would continue a decent rate of progress?

  • @DuhIdiot1 Then the people who want to learn something will go to libraries and read books and/or research topics on the internet.

  • Comment removed

  • @holytiamat777 Yes There are many well educated idiots & information is readily available to anyone. However without documentation of successful completion of required courses & attaining a degree chances are You won't even be considered for a position in an area of Scientific research.

  • @tranquility4all For the most part, I think that's just bs hoops people have to jump through. Although for science related areas, especially medical fields, I think these hoops are necessary as a sort of buffer to make sure the medical workers know their what they're doing (e.g. If someone's performing surgery on me, I don't want the surgeon to make any kind of error). For theoretical science fields, I'm not so sure. Though, I don't know much about those so I'm not going to back up that claim.
