The only people that the Coalition's liberation of Iraq was a "catastrophe" for was the Ba'ath and their Leftist allies in the West. The latter in particular refers to the ISO Marxists that were cheerleading Saddam's invasion of Kuwait in way back in 1991.
As for where Saddam got his weapons, it was from the Soviet Union. The chemical weapons in particular came from Warsaw pact stocks. The gas shells that the US military found in Iraq from 2003 to present still had Cyrillic lettering on them.

@zaimur Saddam not only offered to leave, he offered unlimited access to his own palaces. It's been a while since I've been into this topic, a year or more anyway, let me try to find it. One place I got it is from an interview with Bob Woodward, on Larry King. Woodward's book has it in there, and Woodward answered a question about it on air, on Larry King.
The catch was -- Saddam wanted to take his family and money. Bush Jr said no. He had to leave with no money, no family.

Personally I think the draft should be reinforced anytime america considers going to war ever again. only then will people really be forced to think if the idea is a rational one! Sure its easy to jump on the bandwagon to go bomb another country and kill hundreads of thousands of men women and CHILDREN when u know that u can watch it all from the comfort of ur house but i feel if people actually thaught they might have 2 fight in the war many folks perspective on war would be vastly diffrent

Feith, Wolfowitz, Wurmser, Perle - these were the architects of the Iraq war within the Bush administration. They all happen to be of the same ethnic/religious background - Jewish. Who benefited from the overthrow of Saddam more than anyone else? ISRAEL. Coincidence? I don't think so. Anyone who sees America as their first priority would never have sent us into that war.
