yes, that happens a lot. The original Suzanne Vega Tom's Diner is completly capella, no background at all. Just her (great) voice singing the words. I dont know who this one you say is her is

I have the album Solitude Standing by Suzanne Vega, and this IS NOT the original version! the original version does not have the background beat and everything! it is much simpler and very beautiful. Don't say this is the original featured on Solitude Standing when I can assure you it is not.
