I must have had one of the most ironic cases when I got my own DSi. It was Christmas Eve, and I was up at about 2:00 AM. Now, I had the old Nintendo DS, not the Lite. I dropped it on the sidewalk months ago, causing the connection between the two screens to damage, but not break. All the sudden the top screen flickered, probably caused by the screen's connection finally breaking. I woke up the next day, and for Christmas I got a DSi. No one else knew my DS was broken. Just a stroke of pure luck.

I have proof, at E3 Ubisoft introduced 2 games where you take a picture of yourself with the DSi and change your look. ( Its for girls ) And theres the same game but you make your own jewlery and actually buy the jewlery from the internet.

Well actually lets take pokemon for instance.

diamond pearl and platinum requires you to plug in sapphire, ruby, emerald, fire red or leaf green to catch certain monsters.

The thing is I hear that downloading them doesnt cooperate with the catridge but i dunno i cant confirm it.

Still If that is true its one big over look since pokemons one of its big franchises

And there are a few others that use a function like that. So that could be annoyin.

so for those of use who have GBA games and hastily took the EB deal where you trade your ds lite to get 70$ knocked of the DSI price.

But ya if you already have a GBA library and have a DS lite. Then Buying the DSI seems really idiotic.

But then if you have a DS Lite then buying a DSI is unecessary entirely...

um i bought a dsi only cuz i u can sell it 4 70$ tords a dsi at gamestop other than selling it 4 only 40$ and my oraginal ds lite's L trigger broke so i tradded it in i would have to say that its a lil better and the tuch screen scratches easyer but the scratches dont show up while u r plaing like with the dslite but what i wanted to state is in the instruction manual it states to not insert a game in the dsi while it is on XD witch is wierd cuz its my fav thing bout the dsi

Honestly, I love Nintendo.

I have a Super Nintendo, a Nintendo64, a GameCube, a Wii, GameBoy Color, and Gameboy Advanced SP.

I have previously owned a DS Lite and GameBoy Advanced.

Honestly, I hated the DS. I recently sold it at GameStop and bought an iPod Touch and honestly, I like it better than all the Nintendo products I have ever owned.

I do not see any point in getting the DSi, especially if you have a DS Lite.

I have "the old-school bulky DS" and I don't think I'll be buying a new DS for a few years. I like the bulk of the old one and adding camera functions to hardware is so played out. Everything has a camera nowadays. I don't need another freak'n camera. The bigger screen might be nice, but I have GameFly and get games all the time for the DS and it works just fine the way it is. And, to me, the comfort of the bulkier system is more important than a little bigger screen.

1) Processing speed is 2x faster so there are gonna be games that can ONLY play on DSi

2)Downloadable content that can ONLY acheved on DSi

3)Camera will be used to play game which can ONLY be used with the DSi.

4)Upgradeable firmware which can leader to better things which can ONLY be on DSi.

well if you want to play games while at someone else's house or while in a trip you should get the dsi and the acekard 2i which lets the dsi play mp3s and videos but if you want to just play at home and dont travel well you might want the wii but i recomend the dsi and acekard combo ITS PORTABLE!!!!!!!

To be honest. The only reason I am considering upgrading from the ds lite is because of homebrew software. I love my psp because I get to play all my psp games on the go! Even so I don't think the dsi will be able to beat the psp in the homebrew department because of its inferior hardware. The psp has advanced chips and graphic cards that the ds doen't. Even if homebrew gets developed, I don't think it would be able to play games for consoles past the year 1998.

Ahhh but you are forgetting. With the SD Card slot may come a whole new era in DS Homebrew. That is as soon as someone figures out how to hack the DSi like they did the Wii using the SD card slot then it will inevitably get rid of the DS flash cards . Or at least for most people. That is probably one of the main reasons a lot of people will want to get this system.
