@1dannyfell Fuck off. If you knew anything about The Beatles you would know that Yoko had nothing to do with the breakup. She's an incredible woman and has accomplished more than you could ever imagine.
@bauersnarky If you knew anything about who Yoko is you would never write something as stupid as that ... do your homework before writing this nonsense.
I just read that: "In the era of Jane Austen, "handsome" was an adjective frequently applied to women. I don't know precisely when it fell out of use but it was used for a long time. One doesn't normally hear it nowadays."
@emokiller907 John was a tough guy. John had a temper. John was an angry young man. You may hate Yoko, but he loved her. He was lost without her. He called her "Mother." There must have been something very special about her for him to have been so totally devoted. She obviously helped him to be the man everyone loved. She helped him to feel contentment and peace. She was who he needed. If that's good enough for him, it should be good enough for us all.
@GryffindorFawkes2 Maybe he loved her in the begining ( he was under her spell..) but I'm sure in the final days he wasn't, he was just so insecure of being alone that he needed a feminine figure, a strong and smart one to help him cope with life. Read Goldman's a Seaman's biographies of Lennon and then think again about that statement your wrote.
Also, for those who say that Yoko and Linda were golddiggers, they both came from very well off families. Yoko decided to become an artist and her family thought that profession was beneath them. Her first husband was considered well off. I guess somewhere down the line she decided to live for herself instead of what her family expected from her.
From what I understand, they were already broken up long before Yoko entered the picture. I read something where John said that when their manager died, that was the beginning of the end. Also, George was on the Dick Cavette Show saying that there were many problems before John met Yoko. I guess people don't want to face the fact that they were just four guys who were wearing thin on each other and wanted to do their own thing.
@MsRiley1980 True! Not just the manager but John hired a new manager but that manager fucked with their money and Paul never trusted that manager. He knew that they were fucking with them but John and the others didn't believe Paul!
Yoko looks very nice with short hair. I actually felt sad watching this knowing that John Lennon was not here to enjoy receiving the award or to see how much he was loved by his fans.
Great to see Paul being so gracious and loving towards Yoko, she was the love of John's life and anyone who disrespects her disrespects John's memory.
People bash Paul for taking the role of leader after Brian died but had Paul not taken the role of leader the group would not have had the direction. The group was used to taking orders from Brian and I think it rubbed them the wrong way when they had to take orders from Paul.
@melkadri Say that to John Lennon and he would metaphorically drive a spike into you, just saying, respect the lady and you respect John's memory, she was the love of his life and his rock.

@TCfoxs I think that Epstien`s death was one of the factors. I mean, they were musicians, not businessmen and when Epstien died it caused a lot of tension among the group in that aspect, not to mention the new manager hired against Paul`s wishes . I think Yoko was the nail in the coffin, though. Her constant just being-there, and the fact that if any of the other Beatles had their wives hanging around like that, John would not tolerate it at all proved too be their end.

@DailyDale3 Well yoko didn't break up the band, the 4 members did. However, setting up a bed for her in the studio didn't help neither did giving her opinion on which songs should make the cut or telling john that paul's song wasn't very good. Having a beatles single with all 4 members on the cover plus yoko probably sped up the process. She didn't break them up but she was the main reason.

No, Paul's not dead--but this intro unfortunately was. What a great chance to tell us something ABOUT John Lennon from his perspective--what he meant to Paul, how they played off each other, etc...
Why would Paul McCartney tell the story of meeting John Lennon Twice if he wasn't really him? How would he know it? And why would any man give up his life pretending to be a different man? And why Paul McCartney?Despite how sad it would be if the world knew, what kind of idiotic solution is the one of the Beatles lying like that? And Finally, After a rumor spread lie that that one, Why would they not arrest Paul McCartney's "Double?
@Comuna what a boring comment...thought it wa sa very touching speech from paul... when hes remembering all those great times when they were younger..and growing into themselves...
Yoko Ono sure is not talented in Rock`n Roll Music or pop. If you hear her sing there might be no discussion about. I m sure, that you or I can do better! But John gave the Beatles the power that made them great. Listen to that music and you could feel it! After presenting Sgt. Pepper John lost his ambitions to be toppermost of the poppermost and was looking for the sin of life! There ware two things he better hadn´t met. They were Yoko and Heroin. Love and peace!!!
When I was stationed in the Philippines, there was a bar called the 168th St Bar, which is weird, since the name of the street was Magsaysay Blvd. Anyway, there was a two foot wooden statue of Buddha on a pedestal in the middle of the place. I didn't know much about Buddhism, except that it's pro-indulgence. So I hung my cig out his open smile and let him smoke. The waitress cried. I felt bad and still do, but they shouldn't put that where drunk people are going to be.
Has anyone noticed that Paul can be an obnoxious, annoying bitch, and his huge ego could have spurred the end of the band. George had issues with Paul also. Ringo was just happy to be in the band, he didn't give a f__k!
Dear Paul, this is my answer to yoour letter. I want you to understand that I do not hear your thoughts, I do not hear your messages when you speak them into the air. I got your message- your "letter, by seeing the video on youtube. I see, I hear, I am with Joanne. If you still feel that you want to see me- or to hear what I think- what I feel. . . whatever. then you must come and find her. As crazy as that my seem to you- that is the way that it is. I have missed you all. John.
Aw, quit pissing on Yoko non-stop like a programmed tool being indoctrinated. Think for yourself. He needed her badly when he met her and had it not been Yoko it would've been someone else like her. Sorry, she wasn't the "bitch who broke the Beatles up" because they were heading to hit the skids themselves by that time anyway.
Feel like I'm watching the abridged version of the Anthology. I guess when you get that much press over that many years you learn to rattle off talking points.
@dudeandmude any woman can say she loves john lennon and fuck his brains out it takes a succubus to change a man that was so great masons wanted him dead
those who hate on yoko, if it in fact is true that she split up the band, keep in mind that it means John chose love over career. all you need is love, right?
you, who are against yoko, don`t forget to remember that Yoko was a friend of composer John Cage and Cage influenced the so called Beatles a lot in theit music.
when will all of you yoko haters STFU...maybe once you take your last breath, perhaps. do you realize how asinine you sound 40+ years after the beatles ended?
@grundycenterboy I agree! If you are a fan of John's you must accept Yoko! John loved her! I love her! Get over it! How can you be a fan and hate the woman he loved?
Well Paul: it took until 1100 hr (EST) on the 11th of November, 2011 for me to get this: Thank you. Now you have reached me, in oblivion. I love you still. John.
so- I learned me guitar chords from a boy who played upside down and backwards with his left hand. . . are we geniuses, or what?
I notice you call me mum "Julia"- not |Judy| like that.. bloke tim.. riley-he-riles=me/// Yeah she was the real genius: managin to raise the likes of us..
@theone456 George and John became closer after the shared LSD experience. That sort of thing bonds anyone, but I truly don't understand why all three wouldn't induct him. They were all close and loved each other very much. They lived with each other from 1957 till 1970. No fan~not you or I, know what they really went through. Peace.
All of these stories are common stories that everyone knows about the Beatles. Paul's whole speech sounds so impersonal. This guy is not the real Paul McCartney.
@SaintJorge304 I can see where you are coming from with 'common stories' but, this sounds really personnal as Paul soeems to be a bit sad talking about JL.
@SaintJorge304 with all due respect, I'm sure Paul could write an anthology on his relationship with John.. and I didn't know some of these stories, although I do admit a lot of them sound cliche.. still, give Paul a break..
I thought it was banjo chords that John's mother taught him not ukulele chords

Why would Paul McCartney tell the story of meeting John Lennon Twice if he wasn't really him? How would he know it? And why would any man give up his life pretending to be a different man? And why Paul McCartney?Despite how sad it would be if the world knew, what kind of idiotic solution is the one of the Beatles lying like that? And Finally, After a rumor spread lie that that one, Why would they not arrest Paul McCartney's "Double?
Think about this, Paul McCartney is NOT dead.

unbelievabletrip2010 2 months ago

Sorry, she wasn't the "bitch who broke the Beatles up" because they were heading to hit the skids themselves by that time anyway.

those who hate on yoko, if it in fact is true that she split up the band, keep in mind that it means John chose love over career. all you need is love, right?
CeGanB 3 months ago 32
you, who are against yoko, don`t forget to remember that Yoko was a friend of composer John Cage and Cage influenced the so called Beatles a lot in theit music.

I notice you call me mum "Julia"- not |Judy| like that.. bloke tim.. riley-he-riles=me/// Yeah she was the real genius: managin to raise the likes of us..

theone456 3 months ago
@theone456 But with that writin team of Lennon/McCartney, no one is more qualified, in my view.
estyle40 3 months ago
@theone456 George and John became closer after the shared LSD experience. That sort of thing bonds anyone, but I truly don't understand why all three wouldn't induct him. They were all close and loved each other very much. They lived with each other from 1957 till 1970. No fan~not you or I, know what they really went through. Peace.
corg22 3 months ago
All of these stories are common stories that everyone knows about the Beatles. Paul's whole speech sounds so impersonal. This guy is not the real Paul McCartney.
SaintJorge304 3 months ago
@SaintJorge304 Hahahaha, you fucking stooge.
BarryDennen12 3 months ago
@SaintJorge304 I can see where you are coming from with 'common stories' but, this sounds really personnal as Paul soeems to be a bit sad talking about JL.
manbigus 3 months ago
@SaintJorge304 with all due respect, I'm sure Paul could write an anthology on his relationship with John.. and I didn't know some of these stories, although I do admit a lot of them sound cliche.. still, give Paul a break..
