I think this would have been Iga's sotn sequel in a full 3d environment. I didnt mind LOS I'll even say the gameplay was great but it does lack identity as Castlevania. (I still believe LOD and LOI were the 3d iterations that felt most like 'Castlevania'.) So spewing this wasnt released. grrr when the hell is the next proper Castlevania coming out??? I'm almost tempted to buy BloodRayne2d on the PSN to tide myself over. Or maybe I should play OOE Shanoa level 1 cap while I wait :/

@devor3 Bingo, you hit the nail on the head and DMC is alot better :) Seriously though it took inspiration from DMC. LOS reminds me more of DMC than GOW, I mean so Gabriel has a whip and Kratos has a chain, but the pacing of LOS is more like DMC - more laboured and heavy in patches, where as GOW is more the relentless killing of enemies and music/atmosphere that constantly pumps like blood through Krato's veins.

I dunno... the plots of the previous games made it seem like Alucard sealed himself away until the events of SOTN caused him to awake, and then he went back to that.

The Sorrows were far removed, and quite different, so they had a blank slate to work with to bring Alucard in there.

Seems like they're reviving him just to do it.
