even myself - not a coder at all - managed to write some applescript which acts like a trojan horse, and does NOT require root privileges. in case you wan't to see it action, i uploaded a proof of concept video a while ago.

Like the name trojan suggests, you have to open the dmg, run the installer and enter your pw. Hard to make Mac do things without the full set of steps. So I feel your safe. many free anti virus options for mac too. :)

how did you get it?

Just looking in google, then off to a video site.

The site pushed down the tiny 'flash' dmg.

Nothing was infected, just shows the "your using a Mac, you need this dmg" idea.
