In fact there is no real hatred between Polish people and Ukrainians here as I myself was three times already in Ukr. So I guess I know. Sofiyka, my dear, i suppose we feel some kind of slavic community spirit with Ukrainian people, and this is really good song. If you need to communicate something to Poles i would reccomend using english.
