  • I wish I had Fox News so there was a comedy show on the TV all day long

  • Writing college essays would've been soo much easier if I could've cited things like Beck does lol

  • Fox News lying? No way....NEVER!

  • @KoachKrab127 They always lie. They play clips of events that happened weeks ago.

  • lol. hahahahahaha. These Tea-Baggers should be rounded up one by one, branded like a wild animal, and let back into the wild.

  • @Atlantaboy612 Fuck you

  • @MrFlyinghellfish : Youre mom is a fucking whore !

  • "What is that based on? A university I don't remember". LMAO! hahahaha

  • LMAO Do you actually believe there were even a fraction of that number there. Are you guys THAT gullible. Didnt you see the aerials ? There is NO WAY in hell there was anywhere near that number there. LOL. Nigga pluuueeeeaaaassssssseeee

  • 1.7 million!!! thats over 20 times the amount of people you get at the Super Bowl!!! and they say these guys are fringe loons? thats a lot of loons.....

  • How much Viagra did it take for all those fat fucks to gather like a hoard of heffers grazing the fields

  • what do they mean, disagree with the president? We are in times of war, and i rempmber Bill O'reilley saying something about that.

  • it sounds like you liberals are scared about getting your asses handed to you in 2012.

  • I bet the university misscounted on purpose to see him fial big time on TV

  • oh i just thought the zoo let loose all the animals, i never thought those were actual people.

  • If a republican or supporter ever told the truth everyone would have a heart attack.

  • ron paul!

  • People like Beck, who I hear Fox News is in legal trouble, will always bend the truth close to the breaking point for self-profit.

  • LOL i read the title the wrong way :D

  • Offcourse they will try to destroy Tea party movements, because just the name of it historically shake they pans OFF.:-) Dont you ever give up on the TEA PARTY, andyou know what. THE rest of the world are praying for you. Just like the last time...:-)

What you all need to remember is. As long as Men are so ignorent and petatic that anyone can buy them by a pice of paper in which they own the Printing mashines too, Nothing is going to get changed!!? YOU need to think like your Founding fathers

  • @Ebdan88 wow i really want to shoot this statement down but your horrible spelling is going to make it difficult ,but ill try my best. First off unlike nationalist ignorant republicans oh sorry "tea party members" we know our history and its good to know ,but history teaches about our mistakes not what to base our lives off of america needs to push forward not sit and rot. If you wanted every one to think of you as stupid you could just right all your IQ s on those signs and remove all doubt

  • It's amazing to me so many people watch this show. All biases aside: you need producers. It's boring and no one wants to hear your unfunny, unwitty commentary. It's.just.not.good.

As for the program... duh Beck is a boob. He's trying to steal the Tea Party movement. I was part of this revival in 2008 when only Ron Paul was leading the charge, and everyone called him nuts, including Beck. Now he's still there and the Tea Party has become a hydra except with asses for heads... like Beck. Shameful

  • My estimate is 10 to 12 people.

  • @Thekilldevilhill unfortionly i don't believe thats true

  • @goldstar971 search wikipedia for joke ;)

  • @Thekilldevilhill Yor dead wrong. I was there, and it was about 1.7 million.

  • @MrFlyinghellfish Republicans always exaggerate when it comes to "their" egos!

  • Did you see all those people you fu-- head.

  • The Tea Klux Klan Party

  • I wouldn't trust anyone that looks up to Glenn Beck, you have to be insane!

  • This palooka is still making propaganda videos? I heard that he died choking on his own bullshit. Just wishful thinking I guess.

    Mediamatters = Pravda = The Young Jerk-offs

  • AHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA

The guy always cracks me up!

  • One Tea Bagger posted that Beck is standing up for Americans! Actually the men and women from America fighting in the Middle East and around the world are standing up for America. When Beck gathered his sheep at Washington D.C. he was using his First Amendment right. He was not standing up for America. When he was younger and he could of fought in The First Gulf War, he was getting high every day. That is what he said, not me. He has no education past high school and he is being followed!

  • When I made a statement on another post the other day about how I think Glenn Beck is an idiot. A Tea Bagger posted back that I was a traitor, of course he did not say a traitor of what. Actually Beck even said about himself, from the age of 16 for the next 15 years, he got high everyday. Now that's a great American! I have a teacher's certificate, fought as an infantry soldier in Vietnam, raised a family, graduated from college and I'm a traitor? I never had substance abuse problem, ever!

  • I have two Tea Bagger friends that drive to these rallies to restore America back to America in their Japanese cars. It's really funny because the first negative statement towards America is the Mosque being built at Ground Zero. They forgot what Japan's doctors did to Americans POWs when they did experimental operations in Unit 731. After the war, MacArthur pardoned the doctors after they were convicted of war crimes. When they start their Japanese cars, what statement does that make?

  • you are garbage and your left wing views are out of line

  • Been watching the media outlets over this...can't help but notice how they have brought back the offensive term, "Tea Baggers"....of course they know full well the insult this is to people but they don't care....

The left is so transparent, they can't even resist insulting even the name of the organizations who are bring, "We, the People" together...

So, go ahead..continue with your insults, with your lies...it won't matter...you only succeed in showing your own fear!

  • the "young turks" are assholes. If you ever notice, its always the left who are mean and narcissistic, not the right. You decide who's side you want to be on, but i would never associate myself with these jerks.

  • @carolinerobi01 hahaha what the left are ineffectual word-pussies and the right just ups and calls you a nigger welfare queen without remorse but other than that they are very tactful bahaha

  • can republicans not count? thats obviously a few thousand in the pictures... glenn beck was like "when i saw the pictures i knew it was at least a million"... "at least a trillion" republicans are idiots... ask any republican how far we can see into the universe (the answer is 14 billion light years) (i dont expect anyone to answer correctly but republicans will say stuff like "its right past that pluto planet right?")

  • @wildboy789789 That depends on WHEN the picture was taken. I would suggest that you take a look at and compare the million man march and the pictures of THIS event at it's PEAK - I gotta say that I have, and I don't know how many attended the MMM, but this was larger.

  • glenn beck is such a fucking moron

  • Ironically, the most people i've ever seen in one place in Washington DC were there for the inauguration of Barack Obama.

  • really...you were scared..and the police will ot say how many there were did they

  • teabagging is something more often than not, done by the lefties

  • I was on the Mall that day, watching a Frisbee game take place between 4th and (what would be) 6th streets. If the Tea Party crowd was anywhere near 150,000, it would have been too crowded for the game. Also, 7th and 14th Street, had the "Black Family Reunion". A million people needs the entire mall. As it was, the 9/12 event BARELY made it past the Capitol Reflecting Pool - so 70,000 at the max.

But I would add an additional 5k to 10k for people I saw leaving immediately after the march.

  • I was there and on the Capitol grounds. The group I was with were all professionals with college degrees including a practicing attorney with a J.D. We later joined up with a group of medical professionals including doctors, nurses, etc. Big bunch of "stupid people" - I think not. Also, the Park Service on the ground estimated the crowd at 1.2 million!

  • @ tyrannosaurusinf14... CNN,MSNBC,and even Fox News ARE NOT REPUTABLE!!! ( were you there?)

  • We Teabaggers dominate you TEABAGGEES (that's why our 'teabags' are in your mouths).

  • @SaddleCat1 That's possible the most homo thing I have ever heard.

  • every single reputable news source reported b/w 60-70k. beck and fox "news" have their head so far up their paranoid ass that they believe the whole country is conspiring to lie by refusing to say there were more than 1.5mil marching.

  • @Bigleg75 No we didn't - we said it was unpatriotic to LIE and make things up in your dissent against the President, and the troops "in times of war". What you guys did is take an already under investigation, 1 day back of the section story (abu Grahib) and turn it into the best recruiting tool for our enemies ever! - at least until you LIED about the "Haditha Massacre". You liberals are responsible for thousands of extra deaths of both innocent civilians and our soldiers.

  • @ToddAldrich Cry me a fucking river. Yes you did. To deny that some of the dicks at Fox called it unpatriotic to oppose the president in times of war is just laughable. It happened. Deal with it. Bush and Cheney and the rest of the criminals tricked the US into war with Iraq. You blame the libarals? Thypical right wing spinning. Own up to your mistakes! The blood of the US soldiers and the Iraquis killed in Iraq is on the hands of the liars who tricked us into war. And that was not the libs.

  • @Bigleg75

YOU cry ME a fucking river. The very fact you say Bush "trick us" shows I am right about the nature of your protest. Bush and Cheney did NOT trick us into war. If ANYTHING they were misled by an intelligence service that has been decimated by decades of PURPOSEFUL neglect and de-funding carried out by the Democrats. In addition to the de-funding, the "Deutch Doctrine" literally made it impossible to recruit "human assets" who had any chance of actually getting good information.

  • @ToddAldrich Really? This is such bullshit, man. How pathetic to push the intelligence in front of you to cover Bush and the rest of the "crazies" in the administration. They decided to attack Iraq no matter what after 9/11. They got the cia to fabricate evidence. Everybody knows this. Accept people who doesnt want to see. Meanwhile you all pose as friends of the soldiers. As you send them to death for no reason.

  • @Bigleg75 Those allegations you mention have been discredited both HERE and in the British parlaimint. The only people who "KNOW" this are left wing people who DO lie in order to mislead people against this country.

The bi-partisan senate committee said this:

"Conclusion 83. The Committee did not find any evidence that Administration officials attempted to coerce, influence or pressure analysts to change their judgments related to Iraq's weapons of mass destruction capabilities."

  • @Bigleg75 You were LIED to by your anti-American masters - who you trusted for your information.

Come on, let's look at the ACTUAL truth, instead of the propaganda.

  • @ToddAldrich So here we go again! Its "anti-american" to oppose the Bush administration or be against the war mongering from the right wing nuts?? This is so fucked up. The new target is Iran isnt it? Guess the right soon manage to fix that to so that more soldiers can die and the friends of the right can get another giant payday. Dont you get it? You people are nothing but tools. Stand up!

  • @Bigleg75 NO! YOU LIED about Bush purposely misleading us and manipulating intelligence in order to get us into war.

THAT IS A LIE and a PROVEN LIE 3 TIMES OVER (at least) . IF you and your masters keep spreading THIS, it IS Anti-American.

As for Iran, It is YOUR policies that are going to lead to war - just as they ALWAYS have. You guys allow things to get so bad that we have to go in and clean up your mess. DON'T YOU GET IT???

  • @Bigleg75 I like how you changed the subject after being proven a liar.

  • @ToddAldrich Hey man! Your president went on vacation for a month before 9/11. AFTER he had been warned by the intelligence that an attack was likely to occur. Dont blame the intel. blame fucking Bush who said to the CIA guy: Ok. You covered your ass. After he had warned him.

  • @Bigleg75 Let's get one thing clear, Obama is my President also, and I am NOT a big fan of Bush. I just get tired of LIARS using every internet rumor in order to demonize political opponents.

I see you have gotten ANOTHER lie from your leftist masters. How about you actually try truth for a change???

Oh, I get it, you CAN'T - your whole ideology is based on using lies to demonize those you don't agree with - to hell with the truth.

  • @ToddAldrich Ok. So if your tactic is to describe everything your opponent say as lies than we cant have a discussion can we? What Im saying is not lies it has been told by witnesses. But of course they are all liars to, right?

  • @Bigleg75 Look, you made an allegation that has been investigated MULTIPLE times and proven false. The same with your 2nd allegation. I do the same to those idiots who claim Obama was born in Kenya. If we are to have real debates, we need to debate based on facts, not internet rumors and false allegations.

  • @ToddAldrich This is not fucking internet rumors. Its statements made by people who where there. You can chose not to believe them but dont brand me as a liar for repeating something that has been said by witnesses. You dont own the truth and obviously doesnt know the difference between a opinions and "facts".

  • @Bigleg75 If it is true, then you will have no problem backing it up. So far, you are batting ZERO.

You certainly didn't know the facts about Bush lying to get us into the war. In fact, I can point you to the 9-11 report that shows Bush REFUSED to go into Iraq SEVERAL times - until he himself was presented with the evidence of the threat.

  • @Bigleg75 I'm still waiting for proof. If what you say is true, you out to be able to back it up. I DO know the difference between opinions and facts, YOU have offered baseless opinions and smears, while I have offered up actual facts backed by investigations spanning both parties here in the U.S. and in Britain.

  • Let me see judging by their record for accurate facts, who should I believe, Glenn Beck or The Young Turks.

Hmmm, I think I'd better go with Glenn.

  • This makes me laugh. You can tell how scared & desperate TYT is getting. Lie liers.

  • @GlennRoxWyo isn't glenn more scared since u.s. is heading for communistic socialist fascist dictatorship?

  • @Darusdei Who wouldn't be?

  • I noticed the quote hand gesture when calling Fox Noise a news network. You prolly oughta go ahead and point out that Fox Noise isn't an actual news network, anytime you reference them.

  • Dick Armey, what's his wifes name? Vagina Coastguard? :P

  • @Connerisawesome beat me to it, you son of a bitch.

  • @Connerisawesome Vagina Coastguard..lol genius

  • TYT are using the term "Tea Baggers" in their headlines?

The word must really be getting out that The Young Turks suck and they are obviously make a grab for their lunatic lefties in the crowd. Idiots.

  • the usa contains 300 million people... even if there were 1 million teabaggers i wouldent be scared... 70,000 is LAUGHABLE... these guys make alot of noise but have almost no support... its like a protest of whinny 5 year old girls (most republicans think like 5 year olds) (and most republicans think teabaggers are idiotic for spliting the republican party)... so that says somthing

  • @wildboy789789 Care to debate anything relevent to this story???

Let's see if you liberal idiots even know what the hell you are talking about!

  • @ToddAldrich debate me on anything

  • @wildboy789789 The foundations of our rights??? 2nd Amendment, 10th amendment - or the role the Federal governement is SUPPOSED to play???

    Go ahead you choose.

  • @ToddAldrich i have a good debate topic... why is ancient knowledge, such as the bible and constitution, good? in an ever evolving world we must have ever evolving rules... if we lived by the ten commandments then we would all be free to rape children, but not lie lol... the constitution says no income tax, which would leave us with no tax benifits and a weak military... why do you conservatives stick to 300 year old rules that dont apply to todays world of computers and robots?

  • @wildboy789789 You are mistaken if you think the 10 commandments would preclude other rules - or that it would allow rape.. That is simply not accurate.

As for the Constitution not allowing an income tax, you are wrong on that. That prohibition was changed by following the prescribed constituional ammendment process with the 16th amendment. But if we did not have the income tax , there are OTHER types of taxes that could be levied.

  • @wildboy789789 Ancient knowledge is usually time-tested over centuries. It has been carried forward because it works. That is not to say you cannot learn from experience, but in the case of our nations founding - there MUST be a solid foundation. By DEFINITION a foundation is a solid, base something to build upon. Changing the very foundation CAN be done and indeed our Constitution has a process for exactly that. But is should NOT be easily done or it will cease to have any meaning at all.

  • @ToddAldrich your saying a person 300 years old can think up a better government than anyone today?... we all want freedoms, but shit like the 2nd amendment wasnt made for automatic rifles... we have to limit it and say "civilian versions of the real guns are legal" (so someone doesnt kill 56 police officers and 34 children with a minigun).. some things in the constitution are actually bad, like no income tax.. income tax is the only thing pulling the rich and poor people twards the middle class

  • @wildboy789789 What was the purpose of the 2nd Amendment?? You had better go read the supporting arguements that the founding fathers made for this amendment.

If we want to change the Constitution we CAN - but we MUST change it using the LEGAL methods spelled out in the Constitution. We did this to include the income tax so again the income tax IS constitutional. If you wish to change it we can - they are called Constitutional Amendments. It MUST be done properly though.

  • @wildboy789789 I would like to insert my opinion here on the specific issues of taxes. What business does the GOVERNMENT have in "pulling the rich and poor towards the middle class?" What is the matter with freedom? The poor were taken care of BETTER before the income tax came into existance. The programs the government has instituted to "help" the poor, have not worked. They give them barely enough to survive, but trap them at that level. Wouldn't it be better get them OUT of poverty?

  • @ToddAldrich its simple... without taxes the rich get richer... if you want to live in a society where the rich tell you what to do then enjoy your "freedom"... id rather live in a country that makes its corporations follow laws so the people can live a good life... we are both pro-freedom, you want corporate freedom and i want workers freedom

  • @wildboy789789 I think you are operating under a false assumption. Taxes don't prevent the rich from getting richer. They prevent the POOR from getting richer. The RICH don't care - they have enough to pay the tax and then some. But if the money that is taxed away cannot be invested in the great idea that some poor person has come up with - i.e. Bill Gates and Microsoft - or just about ANY success story out there. Also, since when does taking from someone else help YOU? - Is it just jealousy?

  • @ToddAldrich my mom gets more government taxes than the tax she pays... so if you take advantage of the benifits, it makes the poor richer... it sure is making my family richer :)... government checks for all, and a 30% income tax on all

  • @wildboy789789 That trade off prevents people from getting out of dependency and there is the moral hazzard as well.

What rights do I have to another man's labor?? Is theft any more moral when we have government perpetrating it than if individuals steal??

  • @ToddAldrich your correct... if a man works hard hes should get more money than the lazy people (if i didnt belive this then i would be a communist)... im not a communist, im a socialist... that rich mans grandchild will be lazy stupid and rich, while working people get their value of money robbed from the banks... im stealing from the theives... every second your dollars buy less and less... and its the rich peoples fault, so lets get payback for this abuse an unmoral capitalist behavior

  • @wildboy789789 You are operating under a number of false assumptions. First off, most of the "rich" earn it themselves. Of course there are exceptions, but the vast majority of them started out poor. In addition, a singnificant portion of the rich lose their money and become middle class, many of the middle and poorer class move UP and become rich. MOST of the poor are single parent families, 1st generation imigrants or are drug users and criminals. Those are simply facts.

  • Comment removed

  • @wildboy789789 In seperate and independent studies all three of the major investigations on this, headed respectively by Guilder,Murray and Mead, concluded that there is a correlation between poverty and government welfare-type expenditures. Poverty has increased with increased government assistance. In addition to that, it creates a poverty trap. Corbett, in 1993 found that 70% of new entrants to the welfare system STAY in the system for at least 8 years and 30% of them NEVER escape.

  • @wildboy789789 Another simple myth is that high taxes on "the rich" helps the poor.

First off, it prevents the poor from becoming rich - it traps them at an income level that keeps them dependent on government. I'd bet that your mother would RATHER not have to accept government hand-outs and instead have enough money to not worry. Opportunity goes away when the rewards for taking risk goes away and that is exactly what raising taxes does.

  • @ToddAldrich right now anyone can work hard and make money, and once you make a few million your kids are allowed to use that money without ever having school or a job, so our rulers become stupid... i want a system that taxes the population and give checks, so everyone is pulled to the lower middle class at all times, then you can work hard and break thru that lower middle class or you can spend and become poorer, but people cant sit around and become stupid :)... country fixed, easy

  • @wildboy789789 Um, if you think that is the reason people are stupid, you are mistaken. Our most highly educated people are the children of the wealthy. Most of them also have jobs. MOST of those who do NOT, are liberals - so I would LOVE to agree with you there, but it is simply not so.

Also, if you think high taxes actually hurt the rich, you are WRONG. They actually hurt those who are working their asses off, trying to BECOME rich.

  • @ToddAldrich im not just preposeing a tax, that would hurt the lower classes... please re-read my comments then smack yourself... your telling me im wrong yet you dont understand my point of view

  • @wildboy789789 Giving checks is welfare -which has PROVEN to trap people in dependency and tax increase have PROVEN to prevent opportunity.

If you want to put EVERYONE in poverty, that is a pretty damn good recipe.

  • @ToddAldrich right now only the poor and uneducated get government checks, so of course they become dependant, they spend all their money and become poor... but if a middle class guy got the same checks he would put some in the bank and become richer... im not premoteing a world where no one is poor, im saying we should all get a bigger version of welfare, then if your stupid you become poorer and if you smart you become richer, then the smartest people are the richest, it works

  • @wildboy789789 That simply is not the case. The middle class person simply become dependent also. The way it is NOW the smartest AMBITIOUS, DISCIPLINED and PERSISTENT people become rich.

Look at human history Wildboy, welfare DESTROYS people.

  • @ToddAldrich welfare destroys people because people are stupid... i dont want stupid people to be alive so let them starve... but i DO want equal opportunity to succeed... the country might have alot of poor, but the smartest people will be directing the country... with a full time job and welfare, people could be rich fast... if people choose to be poor then who cares... the lazy stupid fuckers are the rich people right now, because people like palin, bush and hilton inherited their power

  • @wildboy789789 Couple of points:

I don't want anyone to starve.

Stealing from the rich will NOT help ANYONE and in fact will PREVENT the ambitious and hard working smart people from succeeding.

Although Bush and Hilton did indeed inherit much of their wealth, Palin did not. Those who inherit their wealth are the exception rather than the rule.

From a moral basis, what RIGHT do you have to STEAL from other people?? Using government to do your dirty work only makes it more disgusting.

  • @ToddAldrich Because it's not stealing. It's called paying your fair share. How many people out there can you name that say, "I don't plan on making more money because I will just pay more taxes." That's right, it's fucking no one. Your world view is a major problem with the world today. If all you care about is money, then you are a worthless human being to begin with.

It takes A LOT of poor people to support one wealthy. It takes an astronomical amount of poor to support one super wealthy.

  • @wentafew It IS stealing - paying your fair share would be paying the same percentage.

And you, in your ignorance make the statement "I don't plan on making more money because I will just pay more taxes." HEY DUMBASS - POOR people don't say that because they don't pay the taxes!!! A BUSINESSMAN who in order to make more money, he must RISK his life savings or work more hours indeed DOES say that. It reaches a point where the extra effort/risk is not worth the reward. God you are stupid.

  • @wentafew You stated: "It takes A LOT of poor people to support one wealthy. It takes an astronomical amount of poor to support one super wealthy."

And every one of them gets PAID from the pockets of that "super wealthy" person.

Seems like the poor are being supported BY that wealthy person.

  • @ToddAldrich Welfare is what saves us from looking like Mexico. You ever been to Mexico? You ever seen the families with kids on the street corners selling chicle ?

Welfare is what keeps people off the streets. Welfare is what keeps our large cities from becoming flooded with vagrants.

I say fine. Let's cut off all welfare and see what happens. It would only take a couple months for the wealthy to shut their fuckin mouths and ask to be taxed double just to clean up the streets.

    think about it

  • @wentafew A lot of businesses would spring up and a lot unfilled jobs would suddenly find workers to fill them.

Welfare should be reserved ONLY for those who are truly incapable of work - and THOSE people deserve far more than they get.

Mexico is as it is because of corruption and a socialistic economic system. OH, and in case you didn't know (obviously you didn't) it also DOES indeed have a welfare system.

  • @ToddAldrich That's where the argument truly lies. You assume lower taxes would equal more business, which in turn would equal more work.

I disagree. Lowering taxes isn't going to lead to the wealthy minority giving away more money. They will continue to cut jobs and replace people with machines.

What businesses do you think will spring up? More service industry? Because that's all that's left and the market is flooded. Corporate America owns the rest.

  • @wentafew They will cut jobs and replace people BECAUSE they are paying higher taxes! In addition, by cutting taxes on investments, you are giving people an incentive to invest money in new technologies and new facilities - and they WILL because it will make them MORE money - and society benefits from those new technologies, life saving drugs and medical treatments, pollution control devices etc..

I claim so because that is the historical reaction. They only cut jobs when they can't make $.

  • @ToddAldrich You don't even know what you're talking about. Go look at tax rates from the early 1900's to now, and see how the wealthy minority are paying the lowest taxes ever.

Your hypothesis sounds pretty, but someone can just as easily say, by cutting jobs and hoarding money, the majority (Middle and Lower class) don't have the money to spend to buy their products, which in turn earns them less money, which leads to less jobs. Of course, they'll still be hoarding.

    you're a corporate tool.

  • @wentafew Well, you better tell my clients who depend on me for economic analysis because I am accurate in my advice.

WHO CARES if the wealthy are paying lower RATES - the ONLY time that is relevant is if you wish to drum up animosity! What you need to look at is DOES IT HELP create job? The answer is absolutely YES. Your hypothetical situation doesn't make sense! WHY would a company cut jobs when those workers HELP them make money?? Tough times and higher costs are what cost jobs.

  • @wentafew Oh, and just a statement of fact, The wealthy are NOT paying the lowest taxes ever. They are paying a historically HIGH percentage of the overall tax burden.

I'll bet you even think they are paying less of the tax burden than they did before the Bush tax cuts!

I'll bet you didn't know that MILLIONS of lower income workers got a 100% income tax cut under Bush.

Seems YOU are the one without a clue - you should not get your information from left-wing blogs - they are PROVABLY wrong.

  • @ToddAldrich Go to wikipedia and look up "Income tax in the United States" Scroll down and look at the low and top Marginal rates. You will clearly see that you are wrong.

Unless you think Wikipedia is a liberal blog. The absolute lowest did receive a tax break, however that bracket is for people who make less than 16.5k a year. That bracket is right around the poverty line.

If you have clients who depend on you for economic analysis, I feel really bad for them because you are clueless.

  • @wentafew First off, you need to understand what I said. Let me repeat. Marginal rates DO NOT MATTER - UNLESS you wish to drum up animosity. The TOTAL tax PAID by the rich has gone up - WAY up (the tax burden). I would think you should at least understand what was said before you spout your nonsense.

  • @ToddAldrich Actually based on the stats they show, it used to be far more discrepant.

  • @wentafew You do realize that Wiki can be edited by anyone don' t you? But let's use YOUR source. Did you happen to the STRONG correlation between tax hikes and recession? Did you also happen to notice that when taxes went down, it was followed by a period of economic growth?? Hell, the Great Depression would likely have only been a 6 -8 month recession until Government got involved and raised taxes and regulations. REALLY you ask??? Yes really. Let's look at FACTS. (continued)

  • @wentafew The crash of 1929 is generally agreed upon as the start of the nearly 12 year long Great Depression. But let's look a bit closer. Taxes on agricultural imports began rising in the mid 20's and the crash occurred on Oct. 29th, 1929 - it set off a recession where unemployment reached 9.0% in Dec of that year. By June of 1930, unemployment had already fallen to 6.3% and was pretty much over. Then the Smoot-Hawley tariff (tax) act was passed, and the economy plunged again (cont)

  • @wentafew (resumed) to where unemployment reached 14.4% in Dec. 1930 a nd stabilized for a bit. THEN in 1932 government thought raising taxes was a good idea and Unemployment SOARED to nearly 28% and STAYED there for years.

My God, man - just look at the facts!

  • @ToddAldrich Share your sources any time. I love how you push the numbers, "SOARED to nearly 28%" when it probably maxed out around 25% You also fail to notice that data pre 1948 is inaccurate, as well as, it includes unemployed as people 14 and up rather than the current 16 and up.

Furthermore, you are over simplifying a larger problem and you put all blame on taxes which is ignorant.

Furthermore, the top margin taxes were increased through this period as unemployment continually declined.

  • @wentafew These are taken DIRECTLY from estimates that account for those age discrepancies the exact unemployment it soared to was 27.9% So you are wrong on all accounts. The source is the BLS and is adjusted by Lowell E. Gallaway & Richard Vedder for the difference in make up and for monthly results in "OUT OF WORK Unemployment and government in Twentieth-Century America" I do NOT put ALL of the blame on tax rates - where did I claim that?? But they WERE a VERY significant reason. (cont)

  • Interesting that the taxes remained high through this period of time you point out, yet the unemployment rates slowly declined. In fact, taxes slowly increased into the 40's yet unemployment went down. How do you explain this? By your hypothesis, unemployment should have kept going up and up and up.

Had taxes been lowered after the unemployment spike and then the system self corrected you might have a point, but since it didn't, you don't.

If you don't like wiki share your source.

  • @wentafew I DID use your Wiki source for the tax rates - and I just disclosed the source for the unemployment figures was the BLS - AND the source for the adjustments for age and monthly reporting. So you are wrong on all counts.

In your ignorance you again fail to take into account total taxes - in the early 1940's Smoot-Hawley was effectively repealed and that tax was GREATLY reduced.

So, before you start lecturing me on economics, learn your facts.

  • @ToddAldrich Lol... All you do is caps lock yell... hot air my friend hot air... I like how you dodge the point on your failed hypothesis... the 40's taxes were extremely high yet unemployment reduced and stayed low for a long time... how do you explain this... Mr. High taxes will drive us to depression???

    1941 - margins low and high ( 10% - 81% )

    1944-45 (23% - 94%)

    1950 (17.4% - 84.36%)

    yet unemployment ranged from 4.7% - 5.3%

    Taxes create unemployment???

  • @wentafew And You accused ME of ignoring things other than taxes (but I already showed you that the income tax rates all by themselves are not even a good representation of the total tax picture - i.e. smoot hawley was effectively repealed in the early 1940's ) You also ignore the FACT that WWII DESTROYED all of our major competitors for industrial production. Japan, and ALL of Europe was devastated and we had no competition. Sheese, do I have to show you EVERYTHING???

  • @wentafew What is more, look within this time frame - whenever taxes rose in these periods, a recession followed - EVEN THOUGH we were the only game in town.

  • @ToddAldrich Actually unemployment appears to have stayed low all the way up to the late 2000's when taxes were lowered to their lowest levels since the late 1920's. Interesting that the depression started after 1929 when taxes were at:

    1929 - 1931 ( .375% - 24%) then the depression came

And the modern recession started right after taxes were at there lowest point since the depression minus years 91-92.

I like your point about post World War. Glad to see you looking at other factors.

  • @wentafew PLEASE look at the import tariffs leading up to and including Smoot-Hawley.

To understand the Great Depression, you need to include them.

  • @ToddAldrich "From 1821-1900, the U.S. averaged 29.7% effective tariff rates and peaked in 1830 at 57.3% with only 8% of all imports being duty-free, dwarfing the Smoot-Hawley rate. In addition, imports during 1929 were only 4.2% of the United States' GNP and exports were only 5.0%. For monetarist authors who consider the Great Depression an effect of the monetary policy of the Federal Reserve, the Smoot-Hawley's effect on the entire U.S. economy was small compared to monetary policy. " -wiki

  • @wentafew You do realize that monetarists are but one school of economic thought.

I would caution you that Wiki is NOT the end-all-be-all of economic thought. But, since you seem to like it so much, here:

"The overall level tariffs under the Tariff were the second-highest in US history, exceeded only (by a small margin) by the Tariff of 1828[3] and the ensuing retaliatory tariffs by U.S. trading partners reduced American exports and imports by more than half."

    This is your favorite source.

  • @ToddAldrich Yes I understand how a wiki works and I know they can be edited by anyone; however, much of wiki is well documented. If you disagree with the documentation feel free to correct it and cite your source.

You are ignoring that imports were only 4.2% of the GNP and exports were only 5.0% of the GNP. Hence the reason why the monetarists don't believe it was a major factor in the depression. It probably didn't help, but it played a tiny part. It was not the main reason.

  • Just what these service industries need more service competition. How many carpet cleaning companies are in your town? How many Yard Service companies are in your town?

Corporate America is pulling your strings like a puppet you fool. You are yelling to have their taxes lowered, and they ain't gonna do shit for you. I can tell by your undereducated dialect that you ain't one of them. You think lower taxes will keep the jobs from going over seas. You fucking clown just STFU!

  • You Fat Fucking Retarded CUNT! GO FUCK YOURSELF!!

  • Beck is an insane liar. His followers are a national disgrace.

  • Can't wait for the November elections! Get rid of all of the racist Democrats!

  • lmfao he is a total idiot

    "i dnt remember the university"

  • You guys are idiots and believe everything the state controlled media tells you. Tea party isnt even racist. Just because people disagree with the government doesnt make them so. Think for yourselves

  • @jamessk82001 - I don't believe the media, I believe my own eyes. I work in DC and saw the protest. I walked by the protesters, read their signs and listened to them. If they're not racist I don't know who would be considered racist. Their signs and words were plainly racist.

  • @dayingyang0 Oh so you saw or heard maybe 1 or 2 people and assume the whole tea party is racist? Wow nice. Just like the media

  • @jamessk82001 - It wasn't just 1 or 2 people. It was a large proportion of the signs and what people were saying. If you don't want to be affiliated with racist people, then start your own organization because the tea party is filled with racist bigots. Most don't admit they're racist but when you question them it is very obvious their views on Obama are rooted in his race.

  • @dayingyang0 Right. You think just because they disagree with obama and call him a socialist or compare him to hitler, then they are racist. YOu need to learn what racism is.

  • @jamessk82001 - you're able to read my thoughts? That would be impressive if it was anywhere close to accurate. I don't think calling him socialist/Hitler is racist, nor did I say that. I think "go back to kenya" signs and people at the protests telling me they don't trust Obama because he's black is racist. It's obvious this is going no where because logic and reason are beyond your grasp, so I'm done. Come back when you're able to make actual counter points.

  • @dayingyang0 Well, YOU obviously think you can read the mind of the tea party participants!!!!

I hear FAR worse from Democrats (the more liberal the worse they are) EVERY DAY.

  • @ToddAldrich - I didn't read minds, when they were protesting I was there and read the clearly racist signs. Also, when you say you hear far worse from democrats every day you're flat out lying because there is nothing worse than what the teabaggers were saying during the healthcare protests. The ignorance and racism shown shown during those protests were only surpassed by the KKK and the racism seen during the civil rights movement by southerners.

  • @dayingyang0 Who happened to nearly ALL be DEMOCRATS.

And I call BULLSHIT. I have been with my brothers at the tea party and we were treated with respect.

  • @ToddAldrich - wow really? you're a right wing nut and you were treated with respect by the other right wing nuts? I'm shocked! None of the signs were respectful! A lot of the signs advocated violence and many many more were outright racist. There was nothing about the 9.12 protests that was respectful.

  • @dayingyang0 I am a black man.

  • @ToddAldrich - if you are african american how does that change the fact that the signs at the protest were clearly racist? Also I don't believe you were actually at the protest because the level of anti-african american sentiment was so high you couldn't have gone and not noticed.

  • Comment removed

  • @ToddAldrich - why are you replying to me with irrelevant quotes? That quote has nothing to do with the racism of the tea party protesters.

  • Comment removed

  • @dayingyang0 They were not meant for you - my apologies.

  • @dayingyang0 That is why I call bullshit. I was there and continue to go.

I find FAR more racisim when I visit left wing protests - INCLUDING physical violence. When I tried to enter a recruiting center a couple of years back - I was physically prevented from delivering those honorable men the coffee I bought for them. These protestors violated MY rights and physically assaulted me when I tried to enter.

  • @ToddAldrich - What do you me "continue to go"? You could not have been to the 9.12 protest in DC as a african american and not seen and heard the racism. It's not possible. Either you didn't go, your not african american, or your bat-sh$t crazy. Also, anti-war protestors spilling your coffee doesn't have anything to do with race, while the teabaggers with signs about kenya, linching, and other vile things does have everything to do with race.

  • @dayingyang0 Doubting his citizenship may be STUPID but it is NOT racist. Go get a dictionary. The anti-war protestors did FAR more than spill my coffee and racist comments made. Were the signs showing the lynching of Bush at many anti-war protests racially motivated? If you me to condemn the STUPIDITY of some (very few) that attend these events, I will, and wholeheartedly so. But outside of liberal infiltrators who want to discredit the teaparty, and very few others, it ain't racism.

  • @ToddAldrich - give me a break. You've now made it obvious to everyone that you're lying. You're not an african american and you were NOT at the DC protest on 9.12.

  • @dayingyang0 If I gave the impression that I was at the 9-12 protest, I apologize. I don't think I did that, but for the record I was NOT there. I HAVE been at many other gatherings.

  • I was talking with one of these Tea Baggers the other day and he was ranting about all the socialist programs the left was going to institute. Then i asked him what he did for an occupation and he told me he was on SSI and was disabled LMFAO!

  • @CzeciStan1 I had that arguement two. I kept hearing the socialist
