  • Thank you Rachel Maddow for continuing to speak Truth to Power!!!

  • I'm sick of hearing arguments of how health care insurance is going to be paid and for whom and by whom.

The debate should be why is health care so expensive that insurance is even deemed necessary. Investigating the government, past legislation and the AMA would be a good place to start. You bring down the cost of health care and insurance comes down.

  • Grayson is the MAN!!!!

  • Grayson is the bomb... I only wish we had more like him.

  • The Grayson tackle! Run at their strength! The rest will fall!

  • Grayson is actually giving the long version.

The short version of the Republican Party's plan for people who lose their insurance or can't afford insurance is just one word:

    Die!

  • How about asking the AMERICAN PEOPLE what they want?

I don't see anymore town hall meetings. What happened to that?

  • What the American people want is for America to find a way to keep a lid on health care costs and provide all Americans with access to what could be the best health care system in the world affordably.

We don't care whether it's private or public as long as the solution actually works. Provides the same high quality at a new low-cost.

  • That's a lucid, intelligent, and well thought-out response.

    Good show lad!! =D

  • Hey, thanks man!

  • Although, according to polls most Americans want a public option by a large majority. It's just that the ones who don't make a lot more noise than the majority.

  • This issue is very old, debates and town halls have been held for decades now.

Most polls show the people want gov run health care.

The american people have been asked, maybe your just not listening because you wish they all agreed with you.

  • waltermh111

Is this the bullshit you tell yourself every morning?

    You're pathetic!!!

  • "Republicans have no plan"...guess he hasnt heard them speak of opening the States borders, tort reform, less government mandates, free market system...but, they have no plan...because, the only way you can have a "plan" is if it involves Government gaining more control on the individual citizens freedom and choice...great plan Mr Grayson, great plan.

  • helltrackrider,

If the Republican Party had sincerely wanted any of those things, they would have passed them when they were in power.

  • I cant say i dont agree with you...I am not a Republican, due to the War Spending and them continually increasing unnecessary Government spending while in "Power".

But, it is an option, a frankly, the only viable ones we have that do not place further burden on the backs of the working class Americans...Obama has already given us a 1.4 trillion defecit for this year and again for next year...you can not just continue to print money to pay for this as they have done...that is a tax in itself.

  • Lets have tort reform -and- health care reform. It doesn't have to be either or.

At the moment, the Democratic Party is the -only- major party talking sincerely about reform of the way people pay their medical bills.

Which is a little shocking when you think about it.

  • only problem i have with Government controlled reform...someone gets screwed, and its not going to be the insurance companies.

It will be the doctors and the taxpayers...as it always is.

Government bailed out Goldman Sachs...economy went to shit, Goldman Sachs used bailout money to buy up as much as possible, knowing that the Federal Reserve would back every lost dollar...stock market rises again; Goldman Sachs post huge profits...off tax dollars; who loses?...We do as taxpayers.

  • The ones who are going to get screwed if we pass real health care reform, and this breaks my heart, are the health insurance companies.

Their profits will drop a little.

  • tort reform is being considered, Obama acknowledged that, but its already been pointed out that its a tiny amount of savings at best.

I dont see how gov mandates fixes the problems we have with HMOs

Maybe tell us what mandates, and if you say the HMOs shouldnt have to cover most health issues, your going to lose that one, the fix isnt to further limit health care coverage when the argument is that gov care is rationing.

  • State border issues is about legality.

Because of states rights issues, each state choses how to regulate healthcare because each citizenship has a different view.

Does an HMO from one state get to snub the interests of another states citizens to serve there?

Also, each states economy runs different, so cheap care in one state may be more in the other, even with open borders.

    Thats small maybe though.

Next issue is you can only have 1 HMO at a time anyway, so what does more private choice get?

  • At least with a public plan you have a chance of getting it changed, with private companies, even in states that have lots of choice, they still have many crappy choices with no chance of changing that.

  • Not sure who the bigger clown is...Maddow or Grayson...

I may have to go with Maddow, seeing as Grayson wants to audit the Fed.

  • Can't we just shorten the title to "Democrats are fools"? Biggest spineless idiots ever! They have the President and both house of Congress and they are still a bunch of worthless and weak losers unable to get anything through. They're letting that other pathetic excuse of a national party (a bunch of insane assholes, really), the Repiglican minority set the agenda and derail any governing. They ought to learn how to govern by studying what the Repiglicans did. I hate both these clown parties.
