I have a lvl 24 frost mage (low i know) and i was wondering if i should use icy veins during a bg? i've used it a couple times and it helps me hit faster and take people out but is it a good idea?

wewt frost mages are the best! and no frost also has high crits....like shatter gives u a 50% crit chance on frozens and works with blizz well.......also ice shards gives ur crits a 100% bonus dmg.....also u might wanna stack up on a lil more haste also bud............it helps a LOT

...... This is the hole point of the build.... Deep frost does not crit that much (missing the +50% crit damage) and deep arcane sucks at lvl70.

The only way to get uber crits is by mixing deep arcane with frost, so you combine both +50% crit dmg from arcane tree + the 100% crit damage from the frost tree, so your frostbolt does +200% crit damage.

Alright, so you get 150% damage with spell crits without talents or glyphs.

Add the 50% from arcane tree and 100% from frost tree, you're getting 300% damage with crits.

I can't believe I missed it. I missed the part where you only gain the 100% crit damage with frost spells. Sorry, I'm clearly a biased arcane mage :)

Yes, that the kick of the build, +300% crit dmg on frost spells. With Icy Veins every 3 mins, you become a real criting turret =)

But for this build to work, you actually have to crit (so you can profit the high crit dmg bonus). This is why I geared with all +% crit chance items.

No it's an instant frostbolt. It is done by using Presence of Mind, making the next cast instant. Immediatly when the first frostbolt end casting, I immediatly launch a second instand fbolt, causing the enemy to eat 2 fbolt at the same time :D

@jeptiska7777 This build is more dependant on talents than gear. Gear is used to score crits often (% crit chance), talents are used to get high crits (% crit damage). Both combined together gives high crits very often :)

But you wont score crits if you die one shot.. so if you want to live long enough to kill people in bg / arenas, go with the S2 kit. With the sunwell, you'll get one-shoted.

The addon changed name one or two times. I quit wow some time ago, but last time I was using it, the name was Dominos.

It remove the graphics around the action bars and let you add any numbers of button (or groups) that you can drag all around the screen. Very nice addon for PVP.

Yes but you cant go deeming your mage as "Crit-Mage" when the crits are because of a buff, its like a bodybuilder on steroids.

The video has two parts. One showing off high crits, and yes indeed it is in part because of Beserker (even tho most mages at that level cant crit that high with beserk on).

But the second part of the video is showing crits streak. Beserk do not incrase cirt chance, only damage, and I still manage to do like 8 crits out of 10 casts, very often.

So yeah, my mage is Crit-Mage, since most mages couldnt do as high as me with beserk and couldnt get as much as crits in a row.

+153% critical damage with Frost Spells. +50% from the talent "Spell Power" in Arcane tree. +100% from "Ice Shards" in Frost tree and +3% from meta gem. This is why the crits are so high. But you actually have to crit for it to be efficient. This is why I was entierely geared / gemmed with crit, to have 33% (crit chance) to deal 153% more damage =P

If you look carefully, when Im not buffed my crits are also around 3700 to 4800 (depending on enemy resilience). To hit 6-7k you need buffs. So 275 dmg trinket, +30% dmg Arcane Power, +30% dmg Berseking BG buff, then you're gonna hit 6-7k for 30 seconds. With icy veins on it's deadly...

Yes, it's an official WoW server. The server is Draenor. This char still exists, I leveled him to 80 but stopped played him not so long after, I switched for a Warlock. I can still log him on, if you want a proof :)

Here's how it works for mage (at that time):

1. Arcane Potency talent: +50% crit dmg

2. Ice Shards talent: +100% crit dmg

Now score a crit when you pop these:

1. Trinket +275 dmg

2. Arcane Power +30% dmg

3. Berseking buff + 30% dmg

4 +any dmg buffs

If they're not dead you mix that with Berseker troll's racial and Icy Veins. You end up casting fbolt at a ridiculous speed for 3k to 6k dmg.

Also you have an instant fbolt with Presence of mind every 3 mins...
