I was even born when this aired and now i am 37 and in love with her ;) I know she is 73 now but it's amazing how those that are yet to born can fall in love with her (not literally) 47 years after this interview.
Well, she made an immense difference w/ this role. I don't think she ever got that, actually. Too bad. She had better roles as far as acting and complicated, flawed charecters that she could apply her skill to in spades, and she was quite a good actress, but come on, she wasn't Helen Mirren. This was her role and it changed the way men see women in a fundamental way.
She ain't Beaver's mom, or Mason's secretary, or a cute fluff to be rescued by West, or Kirk, or Flint, or Paladin-she's Peel.
Diana Rigg was so beautiful it hurts. Sometimes you wish time could stand still, and allow certain people never to age. I know it`s fanciful to think that way, and i`m sure she doesn`t see it like that. Life is a wonderful journey, but the passing of the years and the changes it brings can seem so unfair.
She's always looked good in the shows she's done, but they're nothing compared to interviews like this, which show her real-life personality as being of an awesome cuteness. There are a couple of interviews on YouTube where she flirts with the interviewers, and in watching it's easy to imagine how jawdrop-inducing she must have been to a guy she had in her sights when she was single and hunting. She's a sexy old lady now, and in her youth she was bloody irresistible.
Stuff like this could have been nice little extras on The Avengers DVDs when they were released a few years back. It was absolutely disappointing that nothing was included on them, especially when there are so many things lying around that could have been used.
