This is one incredible classic rock track. As big as anything The Beatles, The Stones, The Doors or The Kinks did. This is Eric Burdon's masterpiece with The Animals. This with the "Ring of Fire" intro from the same LP "Love Is." Also -- the track "I'm An Animal" from this LP -- has to be heard to be believed. Rock radio? You missed out on some big ones you idiots.
the guitar solo to match with Mike Oldfield's solo in Kevin Ayers' "Lunatics Lament".. never heard such an awesome piece of music in quite a long time. Astounding!
I saw this version of the Animals.Zoot stood out,Andy was so young and Eric seemed a bit fried....Neverless a good band....I think Barry Jenkins was on drums...Anyways Zoot rocked....He should have been a star.
I've got it on plastic, but I don't have the technology to attempt to load it here. And I haven't owned a turntable in 20 years. Time to resolve that problem.
I love the original by Traffic, but i must say that this version is ok!

Probably better guitar work here than anything Andy Summers did with the Police.

@Rockblueser- @muaythaimattei- It's a good cover, have you checked out Traffic's original from the year before, 1967?

great song!!

Just another opinion: Andy Summers' solo is channeling Jerry Garcia, "Dark Star" in particular, due to the similarity of the chords.

Very cool! Nice to hear Andy Summers do his 190 bar solo! Although i think his guitar was tuned a tiny bit sharp!

Is it not Johnny Weider's solo?
johnballantrae001 2 years ago
Nope. Andy Summers was in the band at that point. He talks about this solo in his awesome (and hilarious) book One Train Later.

Great song. Thanks for posting. Can you please post River Deep, Mountain High, from the same album? I love the tribute to Tina Turner in it.
