@TheSoGEntertainment lol me too man, playing with my older brother when i was young, this was such a great game, best soundtrack ever, and yes i mean ever haha
What's up with all the hate on Blizzard? You guys don't think they make good games anymore? Warcraft and Starcraft... Diablo... Even if those aren't your type of games. To say they aren't well made games is dumb. I mean the Starcraft series has the whole country of Korea under it's thumb.
holy fuck the game that introduced me to sabbath......most metalheads have stories of listening to their older brothers record or some shit as their introduction....me?? I have rock and roll racing to thank :)
List of songs in SNES Version VERY lacks Radar Love! When I played SNES-version of RRR first time I so hoped to hear it with this superior quality sound. It's my favourite theme amongst these six songs. And as if out of spite exactly this song was absent in the SNES version. What a pity!

Another fine example of how the SNES soundchip is far superior to the Genesis. I pitty the Genesis fanboys that still believe that the Genesis has superior sound.
Me and my best mate grew up to this game. Bought another SNES and a copy of it JUSt to play it, and its one of the few games thats still just as much fun. Snake ftw!
i always chose yelow marauder as my first car too :D do you know what car the marauder is based on? it looks really familiar but i just cant put my finger on it
@mysticmoseh I just called my cousin and played the beginning of the "Born to Be Wild" while saying, "The stage is set--the green flag DROPS!" hoping he'll remember where it's from.
I am 21... which according to your youtube page is the same age as you.
I don't understand what you mean by "in 1993 it was epic." Rock and Roll racing is just a shitty, slowed down rip-off of RC ProAm with horrid imitations of popular rock music.
RC Proam, Pole Position, Super OffRoad, RaceDrivin (the arcade version), F-Zero, Outrun, Hang-On, and Super Mario Kart (the SNES one) all blow the SHIT out of Rock and Roll racing. Now, there are more, but I ran out of space to type them.
How is it shitty? Just because it owes a lot to RC Pro Am? Which it actually improves on with superior controls, better graphics, more inspired tracks and cooler weapons?
Horrid music? The renditions of Paranoid and Highway Star may not be as good as the originals, but this is AMAZING for the SNES, Tim Follin is one of the most talented vg composers alive, he did a great job here.
And no way is Pole Position a better game than this.
There is no improvement on the controls, The weapons are far LESS fun, the camera angle makes for a worse sense of inertia, and this music is certainly not amazing for the snes. Maybe you think that square at 1:06 is a great track layout, and maybe you have never heard the mountains of actually GOOD music on the SNES and Genesis, but I have.
Tim Follin has done great work, but this music is mediocre.
I have played many SNES and Genesis games, and you're simply an obnoxious weaboo snob. You're pulling ridiciulous excuses out of your ass. The perspective is the same as RC Pro Am. But there are more varied tracks, a deeper costumizable weapons system. You're hating for hating's sake and while you have the right to your opinion you have no right to be a condescending douche to someone just for liking this game. Because many people like this game. You're not better than anyone.
And what Follin could do with the SNES sound chip was second to none, so much so that even Miyamoto was very impressed. His arrangements of these songs work fine, they pretty much sound as close to the real songs as the SNES could possibly get and no other composer could come close, especially because his abillity to emulate guitars with synths is a trademark of his SNES soundtracks.
Compare this to the much inferior Genesis soundtrack (not Follin's work) and tell me Follin did a lousy job.
@kingboobs20 He even did a composition for the Genesis (Search for Time Trax) and unsurprisingly it's one of the greatest songs for the system. Shame that the game was cancelled, wanted to hear more songs from the game. :(
this is how a snes can sound like.some of the few knew how to work/push the music of a snes and this is how it should sound.if every game on snes took an exam[ple of this the snes would have won the genesis over without doub't but genesis also had clever composers like yuzo koshiro wo knew how to work the genesis to the max and make incredible house music on it(streets of rage) while more primitive the quality of music is also aware with the genesis.
I think the majority of games for SNES has an advantage on Genesis sound chip. I think it's cause of Sony's superior stereo chip Nintendo were using. Just listen to Super Tennis (very early in SNES life cycle). And Turtles in Time had better sound than Turtles Hyperstone Heist. But Streets of Rage is an exception and Streets of Rage 2 and 3 couldn't master the first game's sound quality unfortuantely. But the Mario games didn't max out SNES stereo chip and Playstation continued where SNES ended
@TheGoldenPS1 yeah and the ps1m is a console i rather forget,ps2 was much more of an impact.when the ps1 got released we saw retr gaming turn into something comercial due to blatand copy's like tekken and crash.i preferd the n64 the psx never really did much for me it's still an okay console to me,i can't stand rpg's.perhaps you're right about streets of rage but let's take thunder force 3 and 4,not one snes game has that quality of clearness or sound how simple it may sound.
