It was 36 vs 50 supply; the reapers had the advantage even if they didn't have to micro. From six factories it would take one minute to get 6 thor, but it would take over six minutes from six barracks to get 50 reapers. I wouldn't defend reapers in a thor battle because it's just not practical from any standpoint.

@sirpintine but 50 reapers kill buildings faster and have the speed advantage so choosing to fight 6 thors would be idiotic. You'd win every base race with 50 reapers against 6 thors.

@RedDevilFan10 You're right, reapers per supply destroy buildings and move much faster than thor, but again - it's not practical. To get any amount of reapers would take an enormous amount of time and space, and doing so would greatly diminish your army size by sacrificing barracks to build reapers instead of marines or marauders. You'd lose long before such an elaborate reaper build could be completed. Reapers are too feeble to attack and take too long to produce.

I was simply pointing out that people to often look at head to head engagements as the only thing that matters. another good example is mutalisk vs thor. head to head thor is going to win every time, but zerg can harass all game. Reapers are great early game units for punishing early expos but lose value quickly.
