Razer Goliathus is good for the beginning but it wears out super quick. It got very dirty, holds dirt and gets frayed at the edges. If you want a real gaming mousepad, get the Vespula.

@Fiilis1 The speed edition...no. You're right about that, however the control edition is extremely tight woven and will enhance how well the sensor picks up movement and will help your gaming...so for gaming go for control..not speed. Speed can be cranked up by DPI.

@mirza206 rather go for steel series but not so sure however if you still wanna give razer a shot than it depends on the game you play, if game is more aim based & less speedy like counter strike you should go for control However if the game is more speed & requires fast sweeps & swing along aim like Unreal Tournament games,Hl2DM or quake series than go for speed edition.

Hmm specs of your mouse and DPI that you use? if you use high dpi like 3000 and above get hard mats but if you play at kind of low dpi like 1800 or something get soft mats.

The Control is based on high sensitivity gamers. The surface grade is a little more rough, to slow down mouse movements. When you play on high sensitivities, you can't have your mouse sliding around uncontrollably.

the descructor is a hard surface und the goliathus is soft - they are both very good to use - but i would go for the descructor because it's very good to use for mice with a 3G laser sensor.
