  • Listen to the arpeggios at 3:20. This was the genius of Sills. Our heroine Pamira is in extremis - literally staggering, her emotions reeling. Sills sends the voice and the text careening up and down the staff, capping it with a huge vault from low B to high C#, and all within the line and phrase and expression of the character.

Extravagant? Certainly. Daredevil? Absloutely. Why does she do this?

    Because she could.

    Folks, this is Opera.

  • hmmm she sang the F live...but the coloratura here is slower and cleaner! :)

  • AGain, Sills scores big time, .. with tremendous tone, musicality, pathos and diction! I don;t care if her voice is "light" she makes the most of it.. Thats for sure.

  • A very nice lesson for all of today's oopsy- daisy- what- was- that singers. Here's hoping they pick up a few pointers. Brava Beverly, this is mind bogglingly fabulous and will never be equalled.
