Didn't Ace Freely use a Custom 3 pickup job? For some reason, that image seems to stick in my mind. I don't know, maybe i'm wrong. Phil keeps me pumped and laughing. I got my left hand caught in a sliding minivan door, and it actually LATCHED! Broke eight bones and damn near lost it. My rehab is slow goin', but the thought of never playing agian fills me with dread, and I keep chuggin' along, with Phil as my motivator. When I get to CA, I will stop in. Gotta see the place!

@RisingSon011 Yeah, I have heard something similiar. Since I posted that comment, I have done a little detective work...he did in fact play a Custom three pickup job, and he had it wired kinda funky. The neck an middle were wired together, I suppose it gave him a fatter sound. Another source said what you did, that he simply used the neck p/u. Who knows for real? Next time I see ace, I will ask for us both! lol
