  • 1:30 what is the name of this song? Its not La Vida Es Un Carnaval

  • Hi ! Thanks for your posting. After reading your answer, I finally decided to search the internet until I found detailed explanations. It took a while but what I found is not quite what you are saying. On the internet site usfigureskating, it is clearly explained that the change of level is related to the complexity of the figure (change of foot, change of edge or direction, the number of revolutions, backward entrance etc.). So it seems that D&W improved their routine quite a bit recently.

  • ricky, Level 4 means that the quality of the execution of the elements is better. It is not the level of difficulty of the element. They received all level 4s for this routine which means they executed the elements at the highest level. They only received level 3s before when the execution wasn't as good.

  • I love both Virtue & Moir and Davis & White. However, I am quite astounded at the evaluation of difficulty of the DW routine. Up until the cup of Russia 3 weeks ago, 3 of the 5 elements from DW were level 3. Now, suddenly, they all get level 4. This is rather surprising. They have executed their elements better but that doesn't MAKE them more difficult. Can somebody help with this ?

  • I love how furiously angry this dance seems to make people. Technical specialists do know what they're doing when they award points. We don't. So take a deep breath and look at their panel scores. They had all level 4s.

  • WOOOW AMAZING !!

    WELL DONE : D

  • Do any of you morons actually understand how scores are allotted in ice dancing? Scores are not given relative to other teams. They are based on what you do in the ice. If you get the highest levels on elements, your PCS correspondingly goes up. If you do really hard stuff at great speed and w/ control, your PCS goes up. If you have dense, intricate choreography w/ lots of ice coverage, your PCS goes up. Simple as that. Only team with all level 4s and no mistakes. Clearly 1st by a mile.

  • to everyone complaining that D/W were scored too high, just think - if V/M were scored 5 points higher, would you be complaining? be a fan, have your favorites, but don't hold double standards or be hypocritical

  • @GloToIt Thank you. People need to be happy for whichever team genuinely performs better on a given day. Appreciate the qualities in all the teams because there's a reason they got to this level. (And you guys, Tessa and Scott have done so well for so long and are so well-loved that it shouldn't be a threat when Meryl and Charlie have success, too.)

  • someone tell them to go back to the Skate America ending pose. Meryl looks like she's trying to take a dump.

  • well I can't decide which team is better. They are both so great teams. Generally I like more V/M but today I think D/W were better. Great interpretation. As for the scores I don't know if it's too high, maybe it should be less than 5 points ahead but I don't know, ice dance is difficult to judge. I just saw than D/W got Level4 for everything while V/M got Level3 in one rumba sequence and Level3 at circular step sequence. We 'll see tommorow but both teams are special and P/B great too!

  • they were way way over scored tbh

srsly they're like the patrick chan of ice dance

  • @binkerrrrr Lol, thanks for the laugh.

  • @Kevindl1985 hey im just telling the truth

their score is waaaaaaaaaay too high

  • @binkerrrrr You can't really say they are overscored and then not back it up with some sort of reasoning as to why. ;)

  • @ILoveFigures well first of all, their score @ COR wasnt even in the 70s

  • @binkerrrrr That's a bad argument considering all the mistakes they did at CoR. Not comparable by any means. :P

  • @ILoveFigures take into consideration their average sb which was like 70. something

  • @binkerrrrr Skate America was their first time out. Their twizzles were off. They didn't achieve level 4s on every element. There were timing issues with head movement (choreography that has since changed). This is the first time they've achieved everything they could with this dance and they were awarded accordingly. It's clear, if you look at their cumulative scores over the last few seasons, that each year they start and end higher.
